Excellent in every way. We will most definately stay again. I was a little uneasy after reading some of the reviews but was pleasantly suprised. Location was perfect, quiet yet close to everything. Staff was super friendly & accomadating. Room were clean and well kept, roomy. Beds & pillows most comfortable we have ever had at a motel. If you are thing about staying here. You ahead, have no worries.

The decor was nice. There were strains on sheets. When arriving the hotel was nice inside. I had a quick check in. When getting in bed at night there was a stain in the sheet. I get up during the night and there was a roach in the bathroom. I was near the lobby on the first floor and it was very noisy. Over all this was an average hotel.

The room was clean and comfortable, but the pool needs a good scrubbing. There was visible scum around the perimeter of the pool. Some of the fitness equipment didn't work. The front desk was very helpful.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel during a visit to Williamsburg. We found the staff to be wonderful and very helpful. They really went the extra mile to make sure that our stay was great! The room was beautiful and seemed as though it had been recently renovated. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was also great. It was within minutes of Colonial Williamsburg, the Jamestown Settlement, and many of the wonderful places that we enjoy visiting each time we visit Williamsburg. The breakfast was nice, but for those people who like large breakfasts it may not be enough. We would suggest either the Gazebo House of Pancakes or Mama Steve's House of Pancakes, both of which are right around the corner from the hotel. We have stayed in various hotels in Williamsburg and this one was one of the best. We will be staying here again and would definitely suggest it as a place to stay during your next trip.

We like the Best Western Historic because of the location, it is walking distance to, a Golden Coral, Cracker Barrel, UNO, K-Mart, Dairy Queen, Putt Putt Golf place. We can shop at the outlets, go to Walmart, eat at other places, it is in a good location to just about everything and has Waterworld USA and Busch Gardens and many other attractions.

Staff helped to changedthe room from 2 standards to king bed, very nice. Breakfast not appealing, would have liked to see yogurt. The hotel was located in a perfect spot for our needs. When we arrived, it was quiet; they gave us our choice of floors. When we went to the room, they had assigned two double beds my husband cannot fit that so we went down and they changed to a king size bed. The room was very comfortable, staff great, even at check out.

We stayed 6 nights and were satisfied by the hotel and staff. The breakfast was acceptable. Computer access was just off the lobby and open all night. The computers were down only one time - for about 2 hours. The indoor pool was nice and large. Other, smaller places had lower prices - but, we didn't really shop-around .

Hallways were noisy late at night. Toasters did not work in breakfast room. I asked attendant to place a sign stating the two toasters could be used at same time. He did not. Others in our group of 11 rooms, had problems such as room door would not open or close when closet door was open, no drink cups, no tv channel guide, lights did not work.

nice breakfast, fairly clean rooms, small to average size room (2 doubles), bathroom was small for a family

Close to our activities. Older hotel that claims the Hampton Inn name - not nearly what we expect from a Hampton Inn. This was an old hotel that Hampton Inn took over. It was very much in need of a makeover. The room was clean enough but the bathroom was very old, with falling tiles, stained tub, very small. We arrived the day after Ernesto when the city had very little electricity. When I called to inquire about the state of the hotel, the clerk said, "If I get another one of these calls I'm going to scream!" Not too interested in customer service!

My wife and I stayed there 5 nights during a visit to the Williamsburg area. We found the hotel adequate to our needs. We appreciated the large continental breakfast and the wi-fi and refrigerator in the room, although the former was quite slow. Our room also had a couch, which was nice. The pool was simple but welcome, but the advertised hot tub was broken for our entire stay. The excercise room had two new treadmills and two other new machines, but it lacked any sort of bench or weights. We ate breakfast outside on a cute little patio one morning. One night, we returned to find that our keys no longer worked, but this was fixed immediately by the staff. They also gave us an unasked for discount when we requested to stay an extra night in the same room. They were all very friendly. Travelers should note that the hotel is actually off a side street and not on Bypass Rd. as the address states, but the sign is on Bypass Rd.

Arrived and the room was down graded. We had a smoking room and we asked for a non smoking room due to our son's asthma. Staff was very helpful in resolving this issue. Same complaints as others...pool had too much chlorine and not clean, jacuzzi was broken and breakfast could have had a little more selection. Room was clean, housekeeping great and it was quiet (we were on the 4th floor). Overall a good bargin for the money. We were close to everything.

We booked this hotel because it was given 3 stars and looked nice on the website. We basically used the hotel for a place to sleep, but when we wanted to use the ammenities we were disappointed. The pool was very dirty, and the hot-tub was broken. When we wanted to check our email at night, we were unable to because there were kids playing games and using 'facebook' for hours at a time. Breakfast was adequate, however the coffee was sub-standard and we ended up going out every morning to get a decent cup from the Dunkin' Donuts around the corner. Overall, the rooms were clean, common areas were dirty, but the staff was very nice and helpful.

We booked through Orbitz and they ran out of non-smoking rooms so we had to take smoking. The clerk was very apologetic and personally came and sprayed down the room (which only help a little for a short time) and offered upgrades. The jacuzzi was not working and our room didn't have a microwave, but they gave us one within 1/2 hour of asking. We went to both busch gardens parks every day, so we only slept in the hotel and got up after breakfast. We didn't use the pool or much of anything in the hotel. The breakfast was barely above the 'continental' level (donuts and coffee). They didn't have the waffle making machine that I enjoyed in other hotels - just plain bagels and scrambled egg circles to put inside with milk/cereal and oatmeal. No actually hot water for tea.

We were somewhat disappointed in this hotel. Location was ok but the staff was not very helpful or friendly. Only one elevator was working for the 3 nights we stayed. The ice machine on our floor never worked and by the 3rd day, none of them were working. The young man @ the front desk just really didn't care. We asked about ice and he just responded that we should check the other floors. We had already done that so he just said the repair man would come sometime... Same pitiful breakfast choices each morning for 3 mornings. It did seem clean and the room seemed fairly well maintained.

The staff was wonderful! I wanted a smoking room and was booked for non smoking but they were very quick to accommodate my request. Very friendly and helpful!Complimentary breakfast was more than doughnuts and coffee. Location was great. Vacationing with my child, putt putt across the street and took no time to get to the large amusement parks. Although the hotel did not have a restaurant, there were plenty to choose from. The only downfall was the over use of chlorine in the pool but water temp was awesome and we had a great time regardless. No real complaints here! On my next stay in Williamsburg, would definitely choose this hotel again!

This is a basic hotel, with sub-par features. The hot complementary breakfast was minimal and not very appealing (day old bagels, french toast sticks that had seen better days, and a toaster that didn't work well. Coffee was too weak for our taste. The breakfast room was usually overcrowded, and many people sat in the lobby to eat. In our stay, one of two elevators was broken, and it was difficult getting to and from our room. Rooms and other facilities were not well-mantained, and showed signs of wear (i.e. need for paint and repair. The housekeeping staff was generally good in their service, and kept the rooms well. The pool was OK, but the hot tub was broken at the time we visited. The excercise facility was OK but small for the size of the hotel. Overall, the facility could have been more updated and clean in its appearance. We won't be back.
