Date of Stay: June, 2009

Location of hotel was good for seeing the Mt. Rushmore area. The room was spacious, but the bathroom (toilet & tub/shower) was quite tight - the sink was outside of the bathroom. The service was very good - everyone was very congenial. However, the food left a lot to be desired, but it wasn't costly. My husband's dinner (beef frajitas) looked like road kill - all dried out. I'd skip the buffet for breakfast, as it was either dry or from a package & tasteless. Ordering separate items from the menu was a better choice, even tho' not fantastic. However, one thing amazed us out at other restaurants - no one served vegetables except for potatoes & a wedge of iceberg lettuce w/dressing.

Nice clean rooms, staff is very nice and friendly. Restaurant food is home made good. Inside and outside pool were nice and big but the water is very cold; so all the kids were in the hot tub, no room for the grownups, and they were many children. They have a very large grass area for your dog, they were many families with pets, but they do not allow pets in suites. (*per day )

We could not have had a better accomodation, our room was perfect. The restaurant, coffee shop/bakery and check-in and shop were all pretty, and very handy for our needs. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there agan!

The staff was very helpful and the suite we stayed in was very clean and new. While the restaurant staff were great, the food was average. Very convenient location, great staff, nice little town, and very nice rooms for the price. We stayed in a suite with the kids.

The Pros ? Room was a nice size and relatively clean. The vanity area had double sinks which was convenient. Staff in the restaurant was friendly and the food was pretty good. Location was close to Mt. Rushmore, Jewel Cave and Wind Cave. The Cons ? No Internet access. For a large hotel chain, I would have expected this service. We?ve stayed at many smaller independent hotels located in the middle of nowhere and had access.

The staff could not have ben more hospitable and friendly. The dining was excellent and the room service was good. Comfort and care were certainly displayed by the staff who always conveyed they were there to serve the needs of guest. I would return again and would refer others to your establishmnet.

Room was a deluxe and extremely clean. Indoor pool with whirlpool was wonderful and nice atrium with natural light. Great new facility and informative front desk staff. Security in and out excellent. Must stay for the price and location.

Altho about 1 mile from central Hill City, this was a very good deal and a very nice place to stay. We saw many families staying there. We were on motorcycles as were some other guests. We used the laundry facilities which were OK but seemed expensive. The restaurant had pretty good food, especially breakfast, and there was an upscale shop for women's clothes in the lobby. All the staff were friendly. The town of Hill City is a great place and you're only a few miles from Mt. Rushmore, about 40 miles from Deadwood (a MUST SEE place), and other wonderful sites. The room was clean & comfortable.

Location is great - within walking distance to town. Quaint little town. The staff was very nice. Breakfast at the restaurant good too - nice buffet. One disappointment was the smoke smell in the room - even though all rooms were supposed to be non-smoking. This hotel was okay for an overnight, but I would not recommend it for an extended stay.

"Breakfast is not included in the price. Sgins advertised Seattle's Best coffee available in the lobby, but the attendant sent me to the restaurant. When I asked about a morning paper, I was sent to the vending machines outside. Sheets had a big stain. Suites are spacious, but louvered doors mean sound travels from the bedroom to the sitting room. No business center on site -- bring your own computer if you want the advertised ""free internet access."" Indoor pool was not heated."
