The Best Western was alright. However, it looked a bit run down carpet was pretty old and a bit dirty. The room was not as large for what we are accustomed to. The bathroom was very small and did not have much counter space. The location was good and very centrical to all restaurants and downtown. Upon entering we noticed housekeeping had not cleaned the room they did get someone to come up and take care of it, but the room still looked dirty. Overall, we would not stay there again.

The room was good sized and the desk staff was great.

This is a low, heavy, dark bunker of a hotel, probably perfect on a cold dark Alaska winter night, but it doesn't rank too highly on curb appeal in better weather.

I was a little hesitant to book with this hotel. My experience was not the same as others. I found the staff to be very freindly and helpful. My room was clean and it was nice that there was a refrigerator and micro wave in the room. The hotel is a older hotel but it was friendly and clean.

We have stayed in may Best Western Hotels. This is by far the worst one ever, bad location, dirty, noisy, loud, red staff, bad food, need we say more.

All staff on the desk were so kind that they have really done their best on my request. The location was also very next to the seward highway. It was convenient. Microwave oven in the room was quite useful.

Centrally located. Needs more parking. Nice people, willing to help. New heaters, clean rooms and pretty quite.

It is difficult to write anything positive about this hotel. Without a doubt the worst hotel I have stayed at for a long time. The hotel is a resonable distance from town but there is a bus stop outside which is very convenient. Majority of the staff were friendly and helpful but sometimes one person can spoil it for the rest. The hotel must be constructed with timber ceiling/floor joist because any noise in upper floors can be heard below. Needless to say not much sleep was had - 4am on our last night. We were not happy campers. Regretfully our first and last stay at the Golden Lion.

Location. Noise from road.

This hotel has good facilities but is a little out of downtown. Although there is a bus right outside that will get you there (except buses do not run often enough) I would stay there again. Staff very helpful and it was great to have a guest laundry.

I picked this hotel as it was close to my project in Anchorage, and because I usually like Best Western (and am a member of their Gold Club). I have to say, this was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. They didn't service my room at all one day, then just made the bed with no new towels on another. Calls to the manager were ignored (was conveniently gone during normal hours). The workout room puts you out in the lobby in front of the world. The restaurant reeks of old beer. In general, most staff was not friendly and not helpful. I am sure Anchorage has better to offer then this.

I was very comfortable and well cared for by the staff who answered many questions and helped me find my way around. The room was wonderful, had all the ammenities I needed and withing walking distance of everywhere I wanted to go. I felt very safe and enjoyed my stay. I will recommend the Golden Lion to anyone I know going to Anchorage!

Nothing. No shuttle service. Poor restaurant. No shuttle service to airport. Poor appearance. Over priced.

Location. The hotel was an old dump, it needed to be rebuilt.

Easy access for disabled traveler. Noisy party upstairs. Had to ask hotel staff several times to ask them to be quiet. Prices are outrageous in this city so it's no surprise that a moderate hotel would charge so much for a room. The muted brown and beige decor make it look older and dingier than it really is. Comfortable beds, large rooms, adequate restaurant and room service. In-room microwave & refrigerator. Nice place to start or end a vacation. Not very convenient to airport but that also avoids all the noise.

It was nice, the staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean. The lobby and halls smelled musty and like smoke.

Nice clean hotel near the center of town, theatres, shopping, and restaurants. Small elevators. This is a nice hotel near the edge of the center of town and by car it takes 5 minutes to shopping, theatres, and restaurants. You can walk and it would take 10 to 15 minutes to walk to things you would like to do. Staff is very friendly and work hard to make you comfortable.

Convenient restaurant and lounge. Toilet kept running. It was fine for a night stay to get you from one place to another.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. It was not in downtown Anchorage.
