This was the right hotel for me. I felt absolutely comfortable and pleased with my stay. I shall recommend it to all my friends.

Bait and switch scam. We had confirmed (through BestWestern.com) reservations at the Empire Palace and had booked their airport shuttle service to pick us up when our flight arrived at midnight. We were instead taken to the Hotel Amber (now called the Antea Palace) which is owned by the same people because the Empire Palace was supposedly full. No explanation was given, no apology was offered, and no discount or other concession was offered for our sudden downgrade to an inferior hotel in a different location. Since it was midnight and we had guaranteed our reservation with our credit card, we had little option but to stay at the seedy Hotel Amber. Since then, our complaints to the cowards (owner/manager) at the Empire Palace have gone unanswered. This is a typical bait and switch scam on unsuspecting tourists. If this is Turkish "hospitality", we don't want any more. STAY AWAY from these scum!!

I generaly wouldn't go for a Best Western in the US... however, this one is a jewel! Beautiful hotel, very classy, great location and best of all, the staff went out of their way to make sure the stay was comfortable and the visit to Istanbul was as rich as possible. The gentleman at the front desk, Ergin Akar, was professional, welcoming and full of fantastic recommendations on not only hotel services, but how to navigate the city / country. Big thanks!!! Our bartender and "hooka teacher", Mustafa Can, was equally amazing... and handsome too! :-) He always had night caps and great stories ready as we ended our sightseeing days. How wonderful to fly 6k miles and find a new friend! Overall travelers, this hotel is a great value and a pleasure to call a home away from home...

Our reservation did not get honored. They found an excuse to send us to a cheap hotel, and then probably took a another customer who paid higher price. Be careful their tricks.

Bait and switch!! I reserved 2 rooms at the Empire Palace through BestWestern.com in June 2007 for arrival in October and had a Best Western confirmation number. Upon arrival, both my guests and I were taken to the Hotel Amber. I booked the Empire Palace specifically for its location and amenities. The Hotel Amber is not in the same location or of the same quality. One of my guests uses a wheelchair, so the impact of this change was not insignificant. No explanation for the change was given and no price discount or other compensation was offered. It was late at night so we had no real options to go elsewhere.I was told that both hotels are owned by the same person. I firmly believe that this owner uses the Hotel Amber as a place to shuffle individuals when large groups or "preferred" clients want to stay at the Empire Palace (Hotel Amber shows no availability on BestWestern.com regardless of the date requested; this looks like the owner manages his own "bookings" so he can change confirmed reservations at the Empire Palace as he pleases).Stay away from both the Empire Palace and the Hotel Amber!!

We found this hotel on the web and not having been to Istanbul before thought this would be in great central location... and it is... a short walk to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Roman Cistern, the Bizaar, Spice Markets.. and the tram runs right pass the front door. Hotels offers free internet and free breakfast each day. Great views from the roof top restaurant.

The personal attention provided by the staff was outstanding. This is a small hotel, so do not expect the amenities you would receive at a very large hotel. (no pool, etc). The location is outstanding and is located in a well traveled busy area within easy walking distance of the major sights of Istanbul. Many shops line the streets of the area, and the Turks are polite and honest. I would recommend that you not get a room on the top floor since there is a restaurant above that floor, with all the accompanying noise. But we asked to be moved and the staff immediately did so at no charge. This may not be an option if the hotel is full.

It was the best surprise on my trip to Istanbul. The service was great, they spoilt me and helped me on each and every problem I faced during my stay. I think the hotel is wort much more than the price I paid.
