Stayed at this hotel in 2000 and 2006. Our stay was very decent and we enjoyed it.

I paid a bit extra to get what i hoped would be a slightly larger room and a better view, but i ended up on the back side of the hotel looking at a mcdonalds and crammed into a pretty small room. The T.V. was an economy flat screen and the remote batteries were dead. when the description said exec sweet i expected a bit more space, but it was one of the smaller hotel rooms i've ever been in. The hotel is on the edge of downtown, but technically in Downtown. pretty easy access to everything you want to see, but if you want to be within walking distance, don't stay here. The King size bed was comfortable, but i didn't get much sleep due to the walls being paper thin and our neighbors watching t.v. and laughing loudly until well after 2am. there was also a surprising amount of road noise for being 0n the 8th floor. Glass door leading to the balcony provided minimal sound dampening. The staff were all very young and seemed enthusiastic, there was minimal interaction though as the 3 encounters i had with the desk staff were hurried due to them seemingly being in a rush and frazzled. as a side note, breakfast is not complimentary and is served in the adjoining Italian restaurant.

Location was great. Staff did not follow up on what they were asked to do. This location is great, however, staff even though friendly did not do what was asked. Room was old and moldy. Bathroom was small.

Although this location is an older hotel, it has had a great facelift and looks great. This hotel is very pet frinedly and even has doggie treats at the front desk! very nice pet walking area as well stocked with doggie pick up bags. Literally only minutes from the historci down town area. We will stay here again on our next trip to Charleston.

The, A/C was too loud - the elevator was very slow, it even skipped a requested floor. The breakfast bar was poor for the price (* hot / * cold). The location was fair (5/10 min from resturants and shops, but kind of an edgy side of town. NOTE: The guest parking lot stated "Lot subject to flooding at high tide - use at your own risk".

hotel was listed as in the historic district it is 2 miles from it you need to take your car or pay 10.00 for a taxi each way staff was great hotel was just no worth the money you pay you would be better off to pay the extra 10.00 a night and stay at the days inn down in the district we wish we had dining over priced and not worth the money

Updated furniture and bedding. Just right for business travel. Clean room and comfortable accommodations. Friendly staff.

Front Desk morining person was fine, the afternoon lady was very stressed out, started crying while we were in line (not a good sign!) I think we got lucky with our rooms one of the air conditioners was musty smelling but rooms were pretty clean. The hotel is aging and needs some updates. Breakfast at the restaurant is not worth the 8 they charge."

The hotel and people were nice and friendly it was clean and probally a great place to stay normally, but we didn't have any A/C in or room when we stayed!!!!!!!!

Room was recently re-furbished; nicely done. Old building - low ceilings and somewhat cramped spaces. Good option for quick overnight and inexpensive accommodations. Approached in this manner, our expectations were met.

Rooms pricey for quality. Air conditioner not at capacity. Maintenance discovered filter way past needing cleaning. Roach encountered in bathroom, tub is a liability waiting to happen due to slippery rubber mat and no hand bars. Cleaning staff courteous . Will not book here again.

I discovered that every trash dumpster in Charleston is emptied at 3:00 am and most of those dumpsters were located in my hotel's parking lot. The location is not real convenient to downtown. You need a car to get anywhere. Lastly, there were a number of lurkers hanging out in the parking lot.

The room was attractive and the bed was comfortable. The room air conditioning was very noisy.

I'm not going to be as tough as the other raters. Our room & bed were comfortable. Balcony is worthless, it's only 30 inches wide. 1 of the 2 elevators was pretty shaky. Asked for clean towels one morning and never got them. Self-locking door didn't latch. Make sure you pull it tightly closed yourself. One evening we came back to discover that anyone could have just pushed our door open. We were out sightseeing from morning to night, so we just needed a place to sleep. Still, the place needs a major re-do. Needs new carpeting throughout. Only good point was the price.

I took a group to Charleston and stayed at this hotel. We had 8 rooms. The first night the airconditioner did not cool on the second floor. The second night after a large storm the power failed...but only in the rooms of the second floor. I was left with no power for 10 hours - 10 pm until 8 am. The hotel staff did nothing to try and move me or other families to other rooms. Charleston - summer - hot and with no air very hot. The great thing about it was that the hotel owner did comp my room for that night.

The staff was very professional, very friendly, very helpful. They were almost like family by the time we left. Handicap ramp was too steep and too long for wheelchair. Excellent service. Way - above expectations hotel restaurant. Great food. We were traveling with my 90-year-old mother, and everyone went out of his way to make her feel welcome and took care of her every need. Easy access to touring sites.

The room was nice, the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast good. My only complaint was I thought it would be closer to the old town part of Charleston. I prefer to stay in the center and walk to the sights. Otherwise I would recommend it. It was right off the freeway and easy to find when we arrived late at night.

Good location, pleasant staff. Abit disorganized, some things not in good condition.

The staff at this hotel could not have been kinder and more helpful. They went out of their way to help with plans, suggestions, and offers. They gave us free tickets to a ball game and made calls to get us an extra ticket for our son's friends from the Citadel.

The staff was helpful & friendly. Location. The ground floor room they original put us in was claustrophobic & not clean. They changed us to a very nice clean room. Good service, poor view of anything other than Arby's. It does not have a view of the Ashley River as stated.
