Just one remark: the instructions to get the hotel should be specified much better in the hotel website. The map of the hotel is not adequate. One should either say in advance that is better to take a taxi from Sintagma station or the trolley-bus numbers that one should catch.

Checked in very early as just off a cruise. Person at reception told us room was not ready but told us to go to the breakfast room and help ourselves to coffee and tea - a nice touch. Room was ready 10 minutes later. Room was lovely. Clean, nice bathroom. Hotel is 5 minute walk to a bus stop with lots of buses to Acropolis area. It's also only a 2 minute walk to a pedestrian street with loads of bars and restaurants although they are a little pricey. You know what you are getting with Best Western and we were very pleased with our stay and it was great value including breakfast.

The hotel and staff were very nice and welcoming. The room was clean, and it had the nicest bathroom of our whole trip to Europe. Breakfast was not spectacular but it filled us up. The location is not the best; although the staff did a good job of explaining which bus to take to get to the Plaka area. There are internet cafes within walking distance and lots of bars in the area but not that many good restaurants.

we have found a very nice atmosphere at best western dorè. the staff was really friendly and helped us a lot. our room with balcony was very large and confortable. the only thing we do not like too much was the juice and vegetables at breakfast. the hotel is located in a quiet pedestrian street and is very simple to reach: underground till victoria station and then 3 stops by bus. we would reccomend the Best Western Dore Hotel Athens to anyone who wants to save money and likes small hotels with intimacy.

good value for the money, front desk clerks very helpful. Hotel very difficult to find in downtown, recommend using public transportation only, once at hotel- bus station within walking distance, plenty of locations to eat. Once sight seeing beware of people pick pocketing - carry as little as possible. Breakfast was decent, coffee/tea availabe 24hr...

A very enjoyable stay. The front desk staff were extremely helpful, the rooms very clean and comfortable. Just a couple of minutes walk from the lively Fokeionos Negris area containing dozens of bars, restaurants and shops. Very close to Amerikis Square which has good transport links for sightseeing. 15 minutes after leaving the hotel you could be in Syntagma Square which is near the foot of the Acropolis and also very handy for places such as the National Gardens, the Parliament Buildings and the Plaka and Monastiraki districts. All in all an excellent little hotel which is very good value for money. Visitors are made to feel very welcome and based on my own experiences I would have no hesitation in recommending the Best Western Dore Hotel Athens.

The hotel is conveniently located to buses and metro, and one can easily travel to the historic sites by the acropolis. In addition, it is in a nice lively area, with lots of cafes and restaurants for a leisurely morning/evening coffee or drink. There are lots of shops along the main street, allowing for shopping for mementos or forgotten items. The service and staff were really great. We received good advice in planning our trips and days in Athens, with the staff making phone calls to check times and prices when requested. Free internet service in our room was a real benefit to complete the bookings for our trip, although be aware, not all rooms have internet access, and it should be requested ahead of time. Breakfast was continental. There is smoking in almost all public areas of the hotel (and in Greece in general), including the breakfast room. I would say the hotel highly values it's customers, as we had a problem with shower drainage on the first day and the hotel quickly resolved the issue and moved us immediately to another room. The staff were friendly, helpful and were full of good advice. I good economical place to stay.
