Relaxing LuxuryThis hotel is in a wonderful location adjacent to York Minster and lives up to its 4-star rating easily. From the moment of our arrival the staff were very helpful and efficient and throughout our visit they were also genuinely very friendly with no hint of that rather false corporate bonhomie found in many hotels of this grade. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable (lovely bed!) with all the usual facilities but often with an extra attention to detail - e.g. ground coffee with a cafetiere & herbal teas. We enjoyed a large flat-screen TV that worked perfectly, also DVDs & WiFi available at no extra charge. Excellent choice for breakfast too. The Dean Court exceeded our expectations in all respects.

Excellent hotel right next to York MinsterExcellent hotel from start to finish of our visit. Hotel overlooks the minster but be warned the bells chime every 15 minutes, which wasn't a problem for us. Our room (complementary upgraded to the 4 poster deluxe room, was clean and tidy and well maintained throughout our visit. Staff all friendly and helped unload and park car (Off site). Would have no hesitation in returning on any future visits. Shops and plenty of resturants and pubs were just a short walk away along with the many tourist attractions.

Great hotel with great viewwe were extremely happy staying here. I wasn't sure we were going to as i had found 2 other great options, but this one was recommended by a local and i decided to go with it. it was less stars then the other 2 options and less money, so I wasn't sure that it would meet our standard. We were extremely satisfied with the hotel - we were given a free upgrade to a superior room at check in without even asking for it and had a gorgeous room on the 3rd floor overlooking York Minster. The price was ridiculously low to begin with (I found a great deal online) so to get the upgrade for the price we paid was unreal. The free breakfast was quite good and the staff was very pleasant. Great proximity to walking the town. would highly recommend and definitely stay again.

Excellent LocationAn excellent hotel in a prime position. All the staff were very pleasant and would have no problems recommending this hotel, we had a large room with four poster bed. The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice, would definately use this hotel again.

A nice clean welcoming hotel just across the road from York Minster inside the city walls. Our room had fabulous views of the Minster. Polite, helpful staff, breakfast was good and very filling if you had the full Yorkshire breakfast, however the only negative thing about the whole experience was the Kedgeree, it was awful, so dont have it!

All expectations exceeded. Nothing was too much trouble. Had a lovely time.

Good hotel but showing its ageStaff are excellent, as is the food and service. The mostly compact rooms are showing their age however, with no air conditioning and average sized beds. The added double paned windows which restrict opening mean either noise from outside or room heat inside, especially at the front of the hotel. These days there are better quality hotels available - although you pay for the unbeatable location!

The staff were attentive, valet parking was helpful. Breakfast was very good. Room was just ok, was very dated, overlooked the bins ! Didn't have a view of Yorkminster ! Dusty in parts of the room, but mainly cleanish ! Was in a perfect spot to explore York, easy walking distance (seconds) of everything, bars, restaurants, shops, the minster.

Long weekend in YorkVery well placed for sightseeing right outside the Minster (beware the bells on Sunday if you sleep late) and yards from the shops and sights. Good clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was well cooked. We didn't try the lunch or evening meals although the menus looked good. Recommended

A lovely hotelStayed here in March 2008. We were given a room at the front overlooking the Minster, which we were delighted with. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were cooked to order which meant they were fresh and hot. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
