We were passing through town and needed a place to stay that was pet friendly. The hotel, rooms & staff were very nice; and fulfulled our need for a nice place to stay.

It had convenient freeway access and restaurant options. My overall experience was good. I would definitely stay at this hotel if the need should arise.

We arrived 30 minutes before check-in time and rather than give us a room, they told us we'd have to come back. When we came back 30 minutes later, they said our room wasn't ready so they were "upgrading" us to a "suite". What we got was really just a large room lined with furniture all around the walls. For example, one of the many pieces of furniture was a coffee table, but since there wasn't a sofa or anything for it to be in front of, it just lined the wall. The main problem with the room was that the hot water faucet in the tub was pouring hot water at a very fast rate and nothing you could do would shut it off. We reported it immediately and several times thereafter, and they did absolutely nothing about it. We thought that the hotel was wasting a lot of money letting all that hot water pour down the drain. In order not to hear the pouring water, we had to close the bathroom door. When we would open the door, the bathroom would be full of steam and be very, very hot - like a sauna. I really don't think I would stay here again, and I recommend you look elsewhere for a place to stay.

Room was satisfactory for a two night stay once I was settled in. The location is not very good if you like to walk around outside of the hotel. The pricing was low but I would probably pay the extra money and get an hotel in a better area next time. Hotel staff was professional and friendly.

Beautiful grounds & pool. Everything in room that we needed. Nothing. All our needs were met. Friendly staff with quick check-in. Comfortable bed, nice flat screen TV, nice frig & microwave and clean. Beautiful flowers and shrubs around the grounds. Lovely clean pool, large gazebo to sit out in out of the hot sun and nice hot tub to relax in. It was a better hotel than we ever expected!

The Best Western Crystal Palace provided a very clean and comfortable environment. As I was in Bakersfield for an event at the Crystal Palace, its convenience made it the logical choice. On the plus side: quick and courteous check-in,clean room, nice pool area, free breakfast, and only steps away from the Crystal Palace. The minuses: a member of the housekeeping staff was unable to direct me to an ice machine because a lack of English, and the parking in the rear of the building was a bit tight. Both rather small inconveniences. I would definitely choose this hotel again.

Wonderful pool, great location. Lost my return reservation, refused to honor my confirmed return reservation. I had a second confirmed reservation a week after my first stay including a confirmation number which I made at the desk upon checking out from my first stay. The hotel "lost" my reservation and refused to honor my confirmation number or reservation. When I objected they threatened me with arrest. I am presently suing the hotel.

We always stay here when in the Bakersfield area. The grounds are beautiful and most all rooms face the pool. They are in the process of remodeling the rooms (much needed). The pool is not heated, so forget using it unless its summer but there is is hot tub. Staff is friendly and quick to meet your needs. Considering the free breakfast, this is a great value and good place to stay.

The Best Western Crysal Palace was a great hotel. The room was quite large, the patio opened to the (fenced) pool area, and the beds were quite comfortable. The refrigerator kept our drinks cold (I have found that not all refrigerators cool as well when I'm traveling). I did find the ironing board and iron handy to touch up my clothes. The complimentary breakfast with 4 or 5 choices was off the menu, rather than a buffet with lukewarm food, with generous portions, was delicious. The restaurant service was excellent and the waitresses were friendly. I was pleased that I could park my car near an entry to facilitate moving luggage. This hotel was literally around the corner from several other hotels and restaurants as well as Costco and other stores. This Best Western was avery ice home away from home. If I go back to Bakersfield, I will certainly plan to stay there, again!

Room and garden beautiful TV reception very poor/limited stations. Did not have Fox News which is important to us. Other than the TV (above) situation. We enjoyed our stay and if that is corrected would probably stay there again. We travel to Bakersfield often as family lives there.

The rooms are large with updated decor. I had a problem with my a/c unit barely cooling and brought it to their attention while leaving for the day. Front desk advised they would handle it. When I came back late that night it did not appear anyone had ever tried to repair it and the problem still existed. I called the front desk and we came to an agreement of a`20 discount per night for my two day stay. I felt this was fair but was glad it was not summer. Additional family stayed and had no problems with their room.
