Very surprising in a good way, we made the reservation late, rate was very good. These are suites, spacious, friedly staff, just across the river from most casinos, walking distance to two others.

Wonderfully friendly staff and prompt shuttle service Outdated & dirty bathrooms, dirty lobby, missing spa at pool. It's in the middle of everything. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The spa shown in pool photos was not there, and the complimentary drink advertised was not offered. Also, the free breakfast is only for two people in your room.

I only stayed one night but the hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, the buffet the next morning eggs and bread/buns, coffee were hot and the drinks and fruits were cold and tasty. Its within walking distance of downtown Shreveport for nightlife and shopping also it has a shuttle to the Bossier Riverwalk. I would stay there again without a problem. The people working there were also very polite I might add.

After reading the previous reviews I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Alot of work must've been done recently because not only was my room immaculate but the staff was some of the nicest and most professional that I've ever met. Their lounge is a comfortable friendly atmosphere that really made me feel at home. I'm leaving tomorrow morning and will definently be staying here again!

The hotel is located about 4 blocks from Sam's Town and Eldorado Casino's - perfectly OK for walking. The cost is also about half of a low-end room at one of the casino's. The hotel's lounge was small, but the atmosphere and bartender were good. Free shuttle service only runs until 10:30pm. The (non-smoking) room smelled like smoke really bad, and the shower is kind of weird. They really should put some type of directions on how to set the water temp! My wife took a cold shower, and after speaking with the front desk twice, I eventually figured it out. During checkout, I did learn that this seems to be a common problem with guest. If you're looking to save a little money and don't mind sacrificing a few amenities to do so... then you'll be OK here.

Some staff was friendly. Door leading to outside could just be pulled open. Very safe! Room stunk cigarette smoke, which we were supposed to be in a non smoking room, carpet throughout hotel was dirty & very old, husband & I agree we will not stay here again, needs a lot of renovation!

Stayed back in Feb. the first time, no real complaints. I only wished that there was a safe in the room, and that the bathroom was more updated. I went back again Oct. 24th-part of 26th. I arrived at 9am after a long overnight drive from New Orleans. I asked to get a room as soon as possible. The lady at the front desk took my cell-number and said that she would call as soon as our room was cleaned. I headed off to the casino to kill some time. It was now 2pm, no sleep and no phone call. I went back to the hotel and as I walked into the lobby the lady at the front desk looked at me and said, "uh-oh!" Sat around for another half-hour or more while they franticly sent housekeepers to ready a room. This time when i got into my room the TV in the bedroom was tiny and on a wobbly stand and the hairdryer looked like some contraption out of the 60's. Sunday I awoke to very loud noises. I called down to the front desk and was told that they were insatlling security cameras. Then I opened my door to see all other doors on that floor were removed!! There were workers moving furnature, removing carpet and hammering on who knows what. Called down again and told the lady at the front desk what was going on. Her responce to our complaint was that she had just started her shift. We decided to check-out. We did not want to pay for our Sunday since we were leaving. She wanted to charge us for a half-day. We asked her to contact the manager and were not charged for the half-day. ASK IF REMODELING IS FINISHED BEFORE CHECKING IN!!!!

It was dirty, in poor repair and just down right nasty. Unless you absolutely have to...don't stay there. If you absolutely have to...think about sleeping in your car.

The lobby looked nice. It is old and a lot of stuff did not work. It is nice when you first walk in and that is about it. It is really old and you can tell. There were 3 lamps in the room out of which only one worked, the TV went out on the 1st morning we were there and on the 2nd morning there was no hot water. We told them about the TV and nothing was ever done. We will not stay here again!

Not to great of an motel. Unless you like stained carpets. Hair dryer was like something from the 50's and had dust all over it. Go somewhere else and stay and you will enjoy your stay in a newer motel. Breakfast>>> FREE cold biscuits, cold pancakes. We went for an alone weekend with no kids and spent a little more than usual, should of just stuck with my **- ** dollar motels. We will next time. Hope this helps.. Oh lady at front desk was nice..

The Best Western Chateau was very comfortable. The bed was excellent! We enjoyed the breakfast buffet a lot; it provided a variety of choices for dieters. The location was accessible off I-20 and to the downtown casinos and events.

I have stayed here before. It is near casino I wanted to visit. Check in could have been easier. The clerk seemed to be busy trying to do other things at the same time.

I stayed at the Chateau Suite Hotel for a short vacation weekend. Checking in was fast and easy and the staff was friendly. There were a lot of activities going on in town during my visit, and security at the hotel was superb. The breakfast was great and the serving staff was friendly and attentive (can't be beat!). I also enjoyed the complimentary cocktail in their bar. The workout facilities weren't great, but they were better than I expected. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the hotel: there was small bits of trash on the floor of my room and under my bed, the complimentary shampoo appeared to have been open and the stairwell and hallways in the building were obviously unvacuumed. Some people would really consider this unacceptable, but I took it in stride since we got a great price and the location was good. Nothing felt dirty, just a bit unclean. Didn't feel like it was worth it to bother the staff since I didn't spend much time at the hotel anyway.

Front Desk and breakfast staff were very nice and prompt. Happy Hour bartender was absent and absent minded. Room appeared nice until we noticed clumps of hair and other debris on the carpet; plus not all the trash cans had been emptied of the previous customer's trash. At checkout I was asked if the previous card I had given for incidentals was still good. I said it shouldn't matter as we had pre-paid for the room through online travel website. The desk clerk never said a word. Turns out they charged me for the room. Have not been able to get this money refunded, yet.

This hotel was great! the shuttle service will take you anywere you want. We did have to take a taxi once due to the shuttle being in use, which was expected. The only down fall we had was when we got there for check in at 3 we had to wait for about an hour for our room to even be ready. Staff was very helpful and freindly! We plan to stay here next time!

Although the hotel didn't look like much from the outside, it was a very nice place to stay. The room was very large with an entertainment center with the T.V. in it, a bar/kitchenette area with bar stools, microwave, and refrigerator. The only down side was the bathroom was quite small with a deep tub which is nice except if you have bad knees and have a hard time bending to get in and out of the shower. The complimentary breakfast was very good with plenty of seating room (other hotels should take a tip from this). The front desk staff was helpful when we asked where several points of interest was. Overall our stay was great and I would recommend it to others.

We liked that the room had a kitchenette, living room, and bedroom space; which we did not necessarily set out for. We requested a non-smoking room, and the room was definitely smoked in. But we arrived too late to change rooms. We enjoyed what little time we spent in the hotel. The front desk receptionist was not very friendly at check in and that was the only staff we encountered while there. If you definitely want a non-smoking room, you should check out some of the all non-smoking hotels in the area.

We arrived and check in was a breeze. The staff were so nice and helpful. They took time to laugh and joke all while working to make sure we got the rooms we wanted. We had booked the base room and at their suggestion upgraded for only $* more a night. The rooms were great well worth the few extra dollars. Our 5 year old son had plenty of room to run and play. They even have a childerns area complete with toys and games. At night staying in the suite it was very quite we were well rested when we got up the next day. The breakfast was fantastic although we did hear some people complaining that their room was not as nice as they thought is would be. But upon listening to their conversation more I heard them say that maybe they should have upgraded to a suite and not the base room.

That even though the room was non-smoking, I could just step out into the hall and smoke. No customer service. After the 4 hour drive from Baton Rouge to Shreveport, we arrived at the hotel at 4:45p and within 15 minutes of check in we found that the phone did not work. While trouble shooting with the phone I checked to make sure that it was plugged in and followed the cord to the wall. When we arrived from the concert we called down to the manager to ask for extra pillows since there were only two very flat pillows on each bed. The manager was VERY rude when he told us that he didn't have any extra pillows. At that time we asked for the general manager's contact information. He told us to call the hotel number, never offered us the phone number. When we asked when the GM would be in he said that he didn't know his schedule. The next morning we spoke to the next manager on duty and she gave us the business card for the GM and told us that he was in the office M-F 11a-7p.
