Staff were friendly and prompt to fix items not working when informed. One of the rooms would have been more enjoyable if A/C was working properly and tub was working (staff informed on checkout of these two problems). Windows had to be left open at night time for cooling and there was noisy people outside in the late evening. Hotel is close proximity to the village and Snow Summit.

Front desk was snooty. Room heating system was arcahic. I had to keep getting up in the middle of the night to turn on and off the heater. TV reception was bad, snowy screen. Only one rolling cart available for the entire hotel to bring in and out your luggage. Thus, not available when needed.

We loved the location and the rooms. We had a small problem with the toilet in one of the rooms, but it got handled. Staff was very nice and accomodating - They went over and above for our special occasion. Very comfortable - we will stay there again any time!!

Our family checked out this hotel online prior to booking the room. We liked what we saw and read online so we collectively agreed to book it. Our room was nicely decorated but dysfunctional for a skiing family. The room was very crowded with non essential furniture pieces like a wardrobe closet that our ski apparel did not fit into. The dresser was old and drawers broken and the TV remote was as well. Breakfast was served in sections and we did not eat as a family. Everyone ate as their food arrived and when the waiter was informed that we had wanted to eat together he became very defensive. He brought our bill and said "I didn't charge you for one meal, are you happy"? A free meal was not our goal. Dinner was worse when we had to wait for almost a half an hour to get water. The person who served the water made a point of telling us he didn't work in the restaurant but instead was the maintenance man. When the meal arrived it looked great but the portions were very small. Upon speaking to the manager/owner he made it very clear that they were severly understaffed. For the cost I would not recommend this hotel.

I was greated by friendly staff.. cute lobby. rooms were alright and it had a cute pool and spa. I just happened to go on a weekend when there was a big jewish retreat with maybe 50 or so youth that was staying at hotel same weekend as me. pool hours close at 10pm yet the kids were running around until 130 slamming the gates outside and yelling. I tryed calling front desk and nobody answered. I walked to front desk and nobody was there. later i finally got a manager on the phone to try and keep the noise down which he did send all the kids back in... 3 hours after the pool was suppose to be closed... a little angrey by the lack of sleep i got and the fact that i had to put so much effert into trying to get a normal nights sleep... i would go back if i knew there was not going to be youth groups there cause the managment doesnt know how to take care of there other guest... ps i am in my 20's and know about partying but this wasnt cancun it was big bear and i didnt get to sleep and rest like i planed on.

We stayed for 3 nights with jacuzzi not working, one night no hot water, roll away (with wheel missing) stuck upright in a much too small room; had to move heavy furniture to fit; lack of towels two nights

Upon arrival, the front desk person was able to accommodate our early arrival. Many thanks! Quick and painless check-in. The room was very clean and attractive. Later found the bed to be very comfortable and the bathroom spotless. The only "complaint" is the sliding glass door was not very secure (ground floor) and the a/c wasn't blowing ice cold air. Otherwise, great stay and looking forward to another trip in October!

The hotel is decorated well, and is quiet and pleasant. The staff worked with me to try and find an item I had lost. There is a restaurant and a separate lounge on site. Room service prices seemed reasonable compared to other hotels I've stayed at.

We were in Big Bear City on a business trip, and it was a genuine pleasure to stay at this extra nice Best Western hotel located just blocks from the lake. The hotel was modern, very clean and quiet. There was a better than average restaurant within the hotel as well. We were very pleased with our stay. The staff was also very friendly and very helpful.

I stayed at this Big Bear Chateu in January. Overall this was a ok, hotel to stay at for the price. It seemed a little far from the Village for me. $10.00 each way for cab fair from Best Western To Chad's Place. A great Place to hang out if you like a fun place with great people and Loud music, ( great Bands! ) The hotel bed was comfortable the room o.k. pritty dark. When my Grandaughter was crawling her knee's came up black from the crawling on the carpet which even tho it looked fair was very dirty overall. IN previous trips I have taken to Big Bear there is definatley better places to stay... such as Cottonwood theme Cottage ( for Couples) and Majestic Moose Lodge.

the hotel is great and restaurant was good. rooms very clean and comfy. Only complaint were : children and youth were in work out gym unsupervised and most of the equipment is broken. there were no playrooms for youth or children, a room with games or dancemats or specific areas for age groups to play. they all hung out in the gym.

Check in was fast, efficient and friendly. We asked for a different room and they accommodated us immediately. The restaurant and bar staff were great - food and drinks reasonably priced and the entertainment was so much fun!

Easy to find and check-in was quick since it was paid in full through Orbitz. The room was at the end of the hallway and quiet. The gas fireplace was small and gave off little heat.

When I arrived, the room I was provided was small and did not have a balcony. As for cleanliness, it was not up to par. They should consider hiring new maintance and cleaning staff. I would only stay there again, if I could not find another place.

The Best Western Chateau in Big Bear is very lovely when you walk in, the staff was efficient and friendly and ensured a smooth check in. The room was small but cozy with the corner fireplace and very clean. The staff is attentive and helpful with directions and recommended activities. We could have walked to almost any place from the hotel if it hadn't snowed and sleeted while we were there. The hotel and the area are both great.
