The hotel was very clean. But the pool needs lots of repairs. The liner was coming away from the side and held in place in some areas by Duct tape!!!!! We stayed Sat to Sun. . . because it was Sunday we did not get to have our "complimentary" breakfast because we had to leave at 7 am... they didn't start the complementary breakfasts until 8:30!!!!! Therefore we had to go to a fastfood spot for breakfast!?!UGH??

Located within a few minutes of where I have to be at. The room was nice and clean.

I was surprized when I read the other reviews... Perhaps a lot of renovations were completed in 2008..I found the staff to be extremely polite and friendly. Thought the room was very clean and the place overall a great place. Got a haircut while there , ate nad drank in the hotel and loved cuz they were pet friendly !! Front desk staff exceptional

Good things first- Great location if visiting 1000 islands, restaurants accessible, staff polite, quick and easy checkin, ample parking. Not-so-good things- Room had musty odor, probably smoking (asked for NS), do not take stairs if asthmatic! It has'nt been ventilated/vaccumed for eons. If you go- Be early for house b'fast, else the wait can be long! Not for hearty b'fasters.

An ice machine was across the hallway from our room. We tried to switch to another room, but hotel was full. The desk clerk was able to shutdown the ice making machine for the night. Thus a good night's sleep was possible.

The desk clerk was very nice and solved the issues. The owner intimidated the clerk so I had to wait until he was gone. It is old, and in the center of town - clean but not really anything special.

The rooms were typical, comfortable, nothing super fancy, just your basics. And the people there where absoulutly wonderful! The bartenders were very friendly and funny, the receptionist was very helpful and knowledgeable of everything in the area, and the waitresses in the restaurant and lounge were just as sweet as ever. They really make a medium place just wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When we booked, we asked for a room with two double beds. Once we arrived we were given an "upgrade" to a room with 1 King Sized bed and a sofabed. We weren't given a reason why or an opportunity to change the room. The staff was rude about it especially when we asked for extra pillows (the sofa bed did not come with any) and extra towels. The room did not provide a bottle opener and "guest services" would not send one up to the room. The plumbing fixtures (mainly the "taps" for the shower) were loose and barely functioning.I would never return to this hotel again. It is totally not worth the money spent there especially when there are better hotels out there.

The Best Western Watertown NY is conveniently located in scenic downtown Watertown within easy walking distance of several historic museums and the popular Crystal Restaurant, a vintage dining experience!

Breakfast included. Stuck in handicap room and the air condition was in poor condition. I was stuck in a handicap room with a poor air condition unit on a very hot day. The sink was right next to the bed.

Halls and elevator were not clean, pillows were thin and lumpy, breakfast was worsted continental breakfast I've ever had. Nothing but old fruit, stall cereal and toast. Room was not very clean. Was supposed to be non-smoking but reeked of stale smoke.
Date of Stay:

Pool was very warm. Noisy, smelly, dated, poor food, poor room allocation, below par for chain concerned.
Date of Stay:
June, 2007
The hallways had a lingering smoke smell and the general appearence was out dated (not historical). The free breakfast was a joke and embarrassing as you are seated and a menu and buffet are presented yet, you are not entitled to them. You are given a piece of paper with a pastery, juice and fruit to chose from. It appeared to be a advertising ploy not an actual breakfast. Families dont count on this breakfast. The two saving points were the friendly staff and the pool.

Good location. Room smelled musty and hard lumpy mattress. Over priced for the quality of the hotel, very small, room mattress very uncomfortable and room was very musty smelling.
Date of Stay:
August, 2006
Good points: the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, there's an exercise room, pool and sauna. There's a bar/restaurant that has decent food, parking was adequate and water pressure in the shower was excellent.Low points: the bathrooms are too small, with no exhaust fans. The complimentary coffee was horrid, and the room would have been better with a single queen-sized bed instead of two double beds as the rooms aren't that big. All in all, though, a very good value for the money.

Excellent staff. Pleasent area and convenient. I would recommend this hotel to any traveler in the Watertown N.Y. area. It is clean, bug free, and easily accessible to Fort Drum, Wal-Mart, Kmart, a local mall, any drug store/convenience store needed. Overall-Great stay!

It was clean and comfortable. The rooms were a bit small. We enjoyed our short stay, I am not sure it would have worked out for a long stay, but overall, I would go there again and definately recommend it to others.

Excellent response to repair request. None. Very nice older facility. Everything was well kept and maintained. We were visiting family at Ft. Drum. For our time there it was quiet. We were on the third floor.

"Generally, a down-in-the-mouth facility. Non-smoking room smelled of old smoke and mustiness. Tub filled ankle-deep with water during QUICK shower. Breakfast buffet was either overcooked (eggs and sausage), too weighted towards fatty foods (mounds of bacon and sausage, little or no fruit), or underdone (toast barely warm). Service at desk and restaurant seemed not to be a priority...just enough to get it done. "
Date of Stay:
December, 2007
Restaurant, bar and live entertainment on premises. Bathroom was very small. Overall it was an ideal place to stay you didn't have to leave the hotel. They had everything right there (food, beer and entertainment). I would stay there again.
