This was our first visit to Carmel and we weren't really sure where to stay. We picked the Best Western because it was the best price for a room with a king bed & a fireplace. Also, it was one of the few hotels/inns in Carmel with a pool. We were very pleased with this place. Its location is great and central to the shops. The room was spotless. The bathroom was very clean and the linens were very soft and comfortable. The staff was accomidating and gave us an early check-in even though it was a holiday weekend. The continental breakfast was lovely and featured very nice pastries. We would for sure stay here again.

Fireplace in a moderate hotel great! Carpeted hallway stairs could have been taken care of a bit better. Good for a romantic getaway on a budget!

We were awoken in the middle of the night to our bathroom sink bubling over with what appeard to resemble vomit. I addressed with front desk immediately, they said they would take care of us. Upon check out, I was told that I needed to pay for the room despite the issue and the manager should be contacted on the next business day. My conversation with her went something like this, ""you are lying and it is your fault, my housekeeper said so""!!! If you are forced to stay here, expect to be experience attitude attitude attitude!!!!

Loved the ocean, decor and updated room. A mini refrigerator would have been great! Pleasantly surprised by the nice update room, very clean hotel, great computer connection! Would love to see a mini refrigerator and microwave, especially for traveling with a child. Would stay here again, especially for that price!

Being located in Carmel village makes this a mildly acceptable return site. The room was clean and the staff was polite, but not overly helpful. However, the whole experience had one major drawback - little or no insulation in the walls that allows you the ""pleasure"" of hearing your neighbors snore.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was ideal for walking to shop, dine, and sightsee everything in downtown Carmel. A small market is right next door and several great restaurants are with three or four short blocks. It has a nice little pool. Also, a nice complimentary breakfast each morning and the room was very clean.

Very nice hotel personnel and service, great location, quaint environment, free breakfast. Needs some updating in rooms, wireless, etc. Charming little hotel with great location to Carmel shops, restaurants, activities. Staff was exceptionally friendly and service-oriented.

When rooms are available, we stay at rhe Carmel Bay View Inn when in the Carmel-Monterrey area. It is always a pleasure. The staff is courteous, and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean, and cheerfully furnished, including a gas-fueled fireplace in each room. The complimentary continental breakfast menu is complete, tasteful and nourishing. As it is located just off Ocean Ave. it is convenient to shopping and restaurants, and, for what you get, you can't beat the price,at least, not in Carmel.

It was on older motel, but it looked brand new, the rooms were very nice. It looked like they had been redone as well, nice fluffy towels. Just great. Nothing. We checked in with a very friendly staff person. We went to our room and were very pleased. The outside looked old but well kept, but inside the room was just great, it had a nice gas fire place, queen size bed, desk for our lap top with free WiFi to check the e-mail, the bath room looked brand new, everything was just great with lots of room to spread out and relax. They had a light breakfast if you wanted in a special room. There is ample parking for the motel guest. If we get back in this area we would stay here again.

Maintenance was noisy in the morning. Room was clean and everything worked but the fireplace. The fireplace was just for decoration. Convenient, affordable, and easy to locate.

Staff was very friendly - let us use their microwave to make popcorn, let us keep our car there after checkout - and breakfast was good.....definitely would stay again!

The room was fine for our needs. Clean, comfortable bed, nice little breakfast area. Our room had a view of the ocean, though far away, but still nice. One block away from Ocean Ave, where the shops and galleries are. excellent location with a market very close by. It was a good place to stay for a short weekend, the location being the best feature.
