We are Seniors and the staff were quick to welcome us and take our luggage to our room. They made sure we knew where the elevators were, and how to use our entry cards. If we needed directions as to where we wanted to go they took time to show us on maps that were available to take.We felt very well taken care of.As we were in and out a great deal, the staff on our arrival would ask how our day went, and if we had found our way around alright.

Good location. Noisy. Good location, but noisy - difficult to park for the valet parking service - bed was comfy.

Great staff - all very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and hallways were very clean with no bad smells. Fantastic location in downtown Victoria.

The suite at the Best Western Carlton Plaza Hotel in Victoria, CA was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and professional. The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Victoria - close to numerous restaurants, a shopping center, and a wide range of entertainment. Because of our stay during the off season, this was an exceptional value. We will be back!

They not only lent us a pack & play crib, they made it up for us and brought it to our room assembled and with sheets. The parking was off-site. It feels like a fancier hotel than it is. The staff treated us as though we'd paid more than we had. We'd love to stay there again.

Room was nice and staff gave us a rollaway bed for free for my daughter. Excellent location for wandering around downtown Victoria. The free valet parking at the hotel was a plus. We were on the third floor facing Broad St. There were several bars nearby and starting around 12:30AM it was very noisy both nights for over 2 hours. Would recommend a room facing Johnson St. maybe higher up.

My personal experience AT THIS HOTEL was just fine. It was the check-in process that frustrated me. The hotel did everything they could to accommodate us. They are clean and very nice. I would stay there again.

Walking distance of downtown. No place to eat after 2:00 in the afternoon. My room was comfortable and the staff were nice. I needed an easy chair to read my book.

Check in was a fast and the front staff was friendly and VERY accomodating.Other encounters with staff was always pleasent. Free valet parking was a bonus! My room was located on the 5th floor. The room was a bit small but recently renovated and extremely clean. 2 free bottles of water were provided daily. Coffe machine and FREE coffee are inroom as well. Maid sevice was discreet and quick. The Dutch Pancake House located on the lobby level served delicious pancakes for a around 9-11. They are open until 2:30PM. There are tons of restaurants within 3 blocks(including China Town) so don't let the limited hours deter you. Location was one block off of Government Street(the main tourist street in Victoria). If you are here to visit the sights, a car really isn't essential as you are within walking distance to many of the famous sites in downtown. You can catch a tour bus to Butchart Gardens and other sites approximately 5 blocks from the hotel. Shopping starts outside the front door of the hotel. This is the perfect place for the shopoholic! Another nice touch is the FREE umbrellas provided in the room. Being on the coast, Victoria does get a fair amount of rain so it was a welcome surprise(I forgot to bring my umbrella) to see it hanging in the closet. An ironing board and iron were also provided. Bathroom had a few free amenities. A soap, shampoo, and conditioner dispenser was located with in the tub enclosure. A blow dryer is also provided. This hotel does not have a swimming pool. It is housed in a heritage building in the heart of downtown where space is limited. They do offer passes to the local gym/pool. I was pleasently surprised with this hotel and would return.

We were very surprised at how clean & effient it was.Courteous check in too. No pool(bad).Workout room o.k. treadmill out of order.Restaurant very nice, but did not serve dinner.Outside our window was a nightclub that kept the noise level high until 1 a.m.then into the street another hour! I thought checkout time at 11a.m.was early(for us).Oh yea,no movie channels.

The Carlton is an older hotel - I felt like it was a 2 star, not a 3 star. The rooms were very small, the beds were older and mattresses not comfortable, I had to go buy a pillow in town as they only had one size. It was clean - and extremely well located to all the shopping and eateries. Victoria itself was absolutely wonderful!

The Best Western Carlton Plaza- Victoria was very pet friendly. We took a dog with us and the daily fee for the dog was fair and the staff was great about it. The room was basic, found a little rubbish (wrappers etc.) that wasn't picked up or vacuumed from the previous stay. The location was convenient to places around Town. Most places within walking distance. There wasn't a garage to park our car, so they had to valet everytime we came and went. They said they had a secure place to park cars, but I saw the hotel valets getting cars parked on all the side streets in the neighborhood.(?) There is a night club around the corner and the 1st night there, we could hear the base of dance music until 2am when the club closed. Late at night wew could hear a lot of the drunk club partiers outside. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if I have my pet with me.

Great Room with Kitchenette and comfortable beds. We were up graded to Suite without additional charges. Highly recommended. Close to all the places of interest. Great service!

The first room that we were given was next to the elevator. The room was very noisy due to the elevator. We called the desk and were told that there were no other rooms avaliable. During the discussion the desk clerk told me that he would call me back. He called back and said that another room would be available. We moved into the other room and the air conditioner had a buss in it. We laid a towel on it and the buss was suppressed enough to sleep. This the hotel is in a great location, everything is within walking distance and great resturants nearby.

We had booked to stay at this hotel without realising that it was a holiday weekend. It came as a shock to discover that many rooms in the hotel had been booked by a party of college kids, and that we could expect a very noisy night of it once the youngsters had been out partying. I mentioned this to the staff on reception and they could not have been more helpful. They moved us to a room on a floor above where all the kids were staying, and we had a quiet and peaceful night. Excellent service indeed.
