A very welcoming hotel,we arrived just as a wedding party arrived but were dealt with effectively and efficiently.More than pleased with the accomodation despite being in a rear room found it to be vast ,quiet and handy for all the amenities of the hotel. Will be using this hotel next time we visit Edinburgh.

i wasnt very plased with my best westen stayi stayed in the more expencive room, i later found out i was placed not far away from a wedding party, i found it hard to sleep and it was a very dissapoiting stay as i couldnt sleep for the loudness of music and dj until after 1 in the morning. i wouldnt stay in bestwesten again the only thing that was nice was the large bed! the pool seemed unclean as alot of children had been in it in the past! not like im agents children but .......

At Murrayfield Rugby 7's for weekend. Nice hotel although a bit out of the way. All the staff that dealt with us were very friendly, helpfull and pleasant. Only stayed for one night so didn't manage to use leisure facilities although ate in restaurant for dinner and also had breakfast. Dinner menu was limited but very reasonable with plain food, the chef's special on the night was lasagne which i had and it was scrummy. Breakfast was well laid out, plenty of selection and constantly being topped up with fresh produce so nothing ran out. Apart from distance from Murrayfield, definately couldn't walk so had to get taxi's which was extra expense i'd stay here again. Good that hotel had own car park

The room was excellent, it was large and spacious. I was there on business and there was plenty of room to set up my laptop & work without feeling cramped.

Edinburgh CapitalSuperb hotel. I stay here when I am in Edinburgh. The restaurant has the most fantastic views across open countryside and offers good value for money food. The hotel leisure services are excellent and staff are extremely efficient and very friendly.

Stay Here, I do.Excellent hotel just outside of the city near the airport with beautiful views, a very good restaurant, excellent leisure facilities, very efficient friendly staff and offers all round value for money. What more could you ask for?

Room fine, Food.. not good.. Had the Chicken Curry, the daily special, probably made from chicken leftovers, as the chicken was hard and dry, cooked in what can only be described as tomato soup with curry powder . Not enjoyable at all. 2nd night had the burger from the bar menu, as the restaurant was closed. The burger tasted nice, plenty of chips, but later that evening I was ill. Moved to the Holiday inn for the rest of the week!

Second stay at this hotel and had a far better room in part of the hotel that may have been refurbished recently. Great food and good value for money

A good hotel for the money but the room was lacking in quality. Good to have access to leisure facilities. Great food and good service

If a disabled room is needed it would be beneficial to say whether a ground floor room is suitable or if a proper disabled room with wall bars and alert system is necessary to allow the best suitable accommodation.

My first impression was of a slightly careworn hotel-the carpet in the main corrider leading to the basement floor was filthy! My first room, in the basement, was not clean and was very cold-I discoverec this was because the full height window was falling out of its frame and could not be closed. The receptionist was very apologetic and helpful, and gave me what I suppose was an executive room, 303 which I assumed to be on the 3rd floor. Having spent a good 15 minutes trying to find it, with the assistance of two other bemused travellers, I returned to reception to be advised that it was on the second floor! When eventually fond, the room was very clean , comfortable and very well appointed-a happy ending.

A twin room had been reserved for us and we had requested a double room. There were no other rooms available in the hotel and the receptionist phoned a partner hotel for us. This was also fully booked and we were offered the option of staying in the twin room at a discounted rate which we accepted. The hotel is in a quiet location and parking is free. There also appeared to be a good bus service into the city although we didn't use this. The leisure facilities were excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel as the staff were polite, helpful and friendly.

Desperate to find somewhere to stay over the one night of the Edinburh Festival, so quite a bus ride into the city centre. Rooms looking a bit warn, and tired, but clean and functional.Just very expensive for what you are getting, although the bus ride was cheap!

Directions from Aberdeen were poor. We got lost and couldn't find our way until we turned in the city centre as the street we had to turn onto from the A90 wasn't sign-posted from the Northern side.

Big Hotel with a strange hotel, more Alcopops bar than real cocktail bar. The food was long winded and not brilliant when it arrived. THe restaurent was poorly managed. Rooms good though. Even after its refit some public rooms look tired. Best stay & eat out!

The hotel was easy to find, very friendly hotel staff, good knowledge of local area and bus routes. Easy access to city centre via bus round the corner, runs every 10-20 minutes £1 single, £2.50 all day. Didn't use leisure facilities so can't comment. Didn't have breakfast as overpriced but ate in evening, average food but served very quickly (chips a bit undercooked).
