Attending a disco dineThe Calcot hotel regular runs very good disco dine evenings.If you book for the disco dine, book a room for £20 per person at the same time.

Calcot Hotel, ReadingEnjoyable stay. Unfortunately, the high price of drinks at the hotel (£5.10 for a glass of wine) meant that we had to decamp to a local pub for a drink. The room was clean, although the bathroom was a bit grotty. The double bed seemed a bit on the small side and this, coupled with the complete lack of air in the room, lead to a poor night's sleep.

Nice Hotel i must say that i have stayed in a few hotels and this was the only place where helping you was no problem . the staff were nice friendly and share a joke with you ( including cleaners and bar staff). the only problem i had was with the shower curtain. there just wasn't enough room to move and the floor got soaked. but that would not stop me staying there again it was just a little annoying.

Good hotelHotel was easy to reach, staff very helpful, breakfast excellent. Fan in room toilet was on last legs and rattled for half an hour before timer cut out - last thing I needed after working 18 hour day. Corridor and room smelled a bit of wet plaster, possibly removation work a leak somewhere. If fan could have been switched off hotel would have top marks for just about everything.

Feedback for Best Western Hotel Calcot.Customer Service would have scored higher if secure accomodation for my bicycle had been available. As it was I had to hide it round the back and rely on my lock. Cleanliness and Quality of room could not be faulted, at this price....£45.00 per night ! Value for Money....I'm a Scot, for goodness sake ! Quality of Food scores 5 which can't be bad as I live in France, where my bicycle would have been carefully looked after !!

Noisy But NiceRoom lacked basics,such as spare pillows & a glass in the bathroom . But was clean.However the noise from the function suite was unacceptable and made sleeping impossible until after 1.30 in the morning. Not pleasant when you have an early start the next day.

Very friendly staff, checking-in and out very prompt and without hassle. My room was at the back of the hotel, so some noises (from the kitchens and the back of the bar) came through to my room quite audiably. The shower was quite poor, at 5'10 I'm not tall, but only just git my head under the ceiling above the bath, and had to really crouch to get my head under the shower stream!

No Hypo alergenic pillows readily available. Beds should have these on as standard with people requesting feather pillows NOT the opther way around

Although the hotel is a non smoking venue we could smell that the room had previously been a smoking room.The bar that is open for residents had only 1 person working at the end of the night and there was at least a 20 minute wait for service as there were quite a lot of residents in the barThe food was reasonably good for the amount of people being served and the price for the night for the entertainment

Customer service, quality of the room, and cleanliness are decent. However, the hotel is over-priced. The breakfest was poor and too expensive.

brekfast was lovely unfortunatly the same could not be said for the room. small cold and you could not remove the plug from the bath. The second room we were given was just as cold. In fairness the 3rd room we had was alright.

Bathroom was cramped and you would not fit in the shower if your over 6 foot tall. TV was fuzzy and only basic channels. Pub was very simple and if your a sports fan then there is a TV showing Sky but it is very small and you will have to ask for it to be turned on. The Breakfast was sub standard and very meagre portions. Staff service was generally helpful, however, at breakfast the restaurant management personnel were more engrossed in personal chit chat, than trying to run the restaurant, leaving patrons waiting. (The service staff were ok, to be fair to them)

Hotel was easy to find - getting out into the rush hour traffic was a pain in the morning but really convenient, comfortable and clean.

It's generally OK, but they do run 'disco dine' nights which mean the car park is over full, room service takes a bit longer, it is noisy as guests leave and you can hear the music (in some rooms) beyond midnight! Another thing I don't like is haviong to walk through the bar to get to some of the bedrooms, and always to get to the breakfast room - this means I often smell of smoke which I really don't like.
