During our stay, my family and I relaxed on the beach and walked the boardwalk. However, the area was not what I had expected. It reminded me of something similar to Venice Beach. The parking was bad and location seemed a little unsafe due to the crowed and location of the hotel (between an alley).

Location. Kind ofdumpy but the location is great! not worth the money you pay.

I thought this hotel was very nice, attractive, and well kept! Loved the room decor. It looked as though someone with design experience designed the room decor. The furniture, flat screen TV and even bathroom faucet made the room look very classy. We've found that hotel is in walking distance from local restaurants and we did not even need to rent a vechile while we were there for business. We enjoyed having free internet access to get our work done on time in the privcay of our room. When we had to print off our documents we found the buiness center to be most helpful. We will return in the near furture for our next business trip. Just a FYI they do have a parking charge of $12 a day but it was worth paying for parking knowing that the vechile was safe thoughtout my stay.

The location was super. Just walk right onto the boardwalk and the beach. Close to everything; restaurants, Sea World, shopping, etc. Our room was great.

Great location on the boardwalk. Couldn't open the room door with the bathroom door closed. Good hotel in a great and convenient location.

We have been coming to San Diego for Spring Vacation for some years now and we decided to spend a little bit more and stay on the beach. Best decision ever!! Awesome location! You are litterally steps from the sand. The pool area is perfect. It feels like you are on the beach. The kids really enjoyed the heated pool. Many restuarants to choose from. It was spring break and it was a bit crowded an dnoisy at times but it was nice to know that they had security on the premise. Hotel did not offer complimentary breakfast but we did receive a disounted voucher to have breakfast at the cafe they have in the lobby. That was appreciated!! We also received discount coupons for Sea World and the zoo. The hotel is very clean and overall a very nice place to spend your vacation.

We stayed at this hotel during our stay for the Rock n Roll marathon. Although the weather was gloomy, the location was great! There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance and the pool over looked the beach! Great location!

The location in relation to the beach and restaurants. The cafe for breakfast. Clean, comfortable, friendly with a nice pool area and an excellent location.

Stayed a couple of nights and enjoyed ourselves. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone.

The hotel was in a great location, its right on Pacific Beach and a short walk to all of the PB night life. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, the room cleaning service was great. The reason this hotel received 4 stars and not 5 is basically because of the room services. It took forever for us to get fresh towels in our room, we were never able to call the front desk because the line was always busy, we had to go down and ask, the towels then arrived 45 minutes later (this happened twice). The beds were also very stiff, as were the pillows but other than that, we had a great time, we enjoyed the pool and the location!!

Right by the beach. Air-condition didn't work in the first room. Was charged US$12 night for parking. Right by the beach, nice rooms, had a small kitchenette. Charged for parking unfortunately. Free Wi-Fi in room.

There are people up all night yelling and partying. Security did nothing to quite them down. The hotel charges $10 a night for parking. There is no continental breakfast.

The hotel is right on the board walk, which we liked. It is really old though and not real clean. The pool is very dated too. We are not expecially noise sensative, but it was pretty loud from the beach to our room. You can hear through the walls and when someone above you walks too. Overall, we would not return and actually left a day early. If all you want is location, then maybe. Anything else, look somewhere else!

It's right on the beach, close to eating and stores. Paying 12 to park. Hotel staff was very nice. Our heater wasn't working and the guy went around to the rooms that were near us and made sure the heater was working. We ended up with the super deluxe room with 2 rooms and a total ocean view. Hotel was clean and convenient. Didn't like having to pay $12 for parking though.

The hotel is loud and there are many noisy young people up all night yelling and partying. We heard people running up and down the halways all night. The front desk is indifferent. Our car was dented in the parking garage which is below the hotel and very small. This hotel is not for families.

I visit San Diego almost every year and decided this year we would stay at a hotel on the beach. I was impressed with the hotel and the location. It was clean, had plenty of towels (most of the time I have to request more) and was very quiet! One of the best parts was being right on the beach. It was not crowded and was clean. There are plenty of restaurants to visit and several bars/night clubs a short walking distance. You can also rent alot of things you would need for your beach adventure right at your doorstep. Next time we will fly rather than drive since we can do most anything in the area without a car. P.S. Hotel charges a parking fee per day that we were unaware of but the parking was secured in a garage so only guests have access using your room key.

On the beach and clean and safe, close to stores, food, seaworld too! I didn't like that I couldn't book another stay at the same price. It was nice, clean, next to the beach and great resturants within walking distance. Stores for shopping and reasonable prices. I love being on the beach and so does my daughter.

The week we stayed at the Blue Lodge was very restful and relaxing. This was our second stay at this hotel and most likely will not be our last.

On the ocean and close to many locations. Rooms were a bit outdated.

I am not sure we got the room we signed up for. It was not a king. It was non smoking however as requested. The view (partial ocean) is a bit misleading, it should actually state minimal ocean view or tiny ocean view. The employees were GREAT. Room was cleaned perfectly. The pool area is a little windy but who can argue with nature? Great location and perfect if you rollerblade like I do. Great eating establishments nearby. Front desk staff could not have been more helpful. They were great. Would stay there in a minute again.
