no hot tub or air conditioning, should have checked it out further before booking, noisy street and foot traffic right below our window staff was friendly, room was clean

It was convenient with a good view of a nearby park. The room and the furnishings were clean and comfortable. The desk clerks were courteous, prompt and helpful.

There was no A/C and was the hottest days on record. The room was close to the ice machine which was extremely noisy and could close any windows because of the heat to cut down on the noise. The ice machine ran out of ice and we were told we could go 3 blks to the 7-11 to get ice. I would never recommend this hotel. Too expensive for what we got.

We were with a group and it was a great place to hang together. The location cannot be beat. We got a great rate through Orbitz and best of all with two night minimums throughout all the hotels on the beach, we were able to book one night.

Excellent location and ample parking. Headboard, carpets and Bathroom was a little dingy. I got a good night sleep at this hotel. My room had a view of Plaza Del Mar park. I went for a long walk to Stearns Wharf, East Beach, and Shoreline Park. I could see the sun rise over West Beach and the harbor while having continental breakfast. I would have preferred a room with a king bed rather than two double beds. The parking fee is only $3, and the parking lot is huge. It's not the Ritz, but the location is excellent, right next to Emilio's Ristorante and Sambo's Restaurant, Brophy Brothers, Leadbetter Beach, SBCC, etc.

"Hotel" is a refurbished "roach" motel which isn't worth the money they are charging. Has an excellent location accross the street from the beach but staff is indifferent and untrained. Room had dirty windows and no air conditioning with a lot of street noise which wasn't acceptable during hotter spring weather. TV didn't work well. While cheaper than most lodgings at that location, it wasn't worth the money and I will not stay there again.

We were told the pool closed at 9pm and our room was right next to the pool. People were there until after midnight. We contacted the front desk and was told they would be leaving soon. We also were charged for parking when the site indicated that there was no charge for a hotel guest. The breakfast was a joke as well. We were instructed when we checked in to come and get a breakfast voucher for the restaurant next door. When my husband went to the front desk, there were no more certificates and that was at 7:30 am. This hotel is ridiculous and the management apparently non exsistant.

Continental breakfast. No AC, no fan/air very noisy street and vagrants. Horrible. Very noisy from street and multitude of vagrants camped outside our window/balcony. Bathroom was disgusting with hair on floor and in bath tub. Room very hot with no moving air and inability to open window/sliding door because of overwhelming street noise.

We wanted a one-night getaway in Santa Barbara and from the description and price, this hotel sounded okay. Unfortunately the hotel we would have liked to stay at just across the street on Mason wouldn't accept one-night reservations. The room had no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that did nothing but blow hot air around the room and on the first really hot weekend of the year, this was unbearable and made for a really unpleasant night. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything going on in the next room and outside. The train was so loud in the middle of the night it would have awaken the dead. A previous guest had kindly set the alarm clock to go off before 6am which rounded our night off perfectly! The following morning I turned on the shower and waited and waited for the water to get hot. I finally realized that the taps were mislabeled and I was in fact running the cold water! Santa Barbara is wonderful and a great place for a weekend visit, this is just not the hotel to make it so. The one redeeming factor is that Emilio's restaurant is practically next door and is fantastic and we would highly recommend it.

It was in a good location; Santa Barbara. The walls to extior were paper thin... or so it seemed. It was clean and met our needs. Walls seemed to be paper-thin and we were able to hear everything outside our room. Overall, it was right at the beach in Santa Barbara and we were satisfied enough by that alone.

Stayed here twice in the last two months. Booked both w AARP at 89 a night. Lower floor I had ants, small nitty bitty burgers. Didn't bother me, since I was alone and I love company. Second time they lost my reservation, so upgrade me to top floor over looking the harbor. More luxury and VERY NICE ROOM. I will give it a third try. With rates between 89 to 109, just take chance, NOT worth any price for these rates.

We were very satisfied with the hotel. Yes it was a bit noisy as the hotel is own a busy intersection, but it was also very convenient to the beach, the wharf, the park, and State Street. I'd actually rate the hotel 3.5. Only the noise kept me from rating it a 4.

Location. The bathroom was old and dirty. The hotel is in a great location, close to the harbor, wharf, and nightlife. Overall I enjoyed the hotel, however it was old and somewhat dirty, especially the bathroom.

Stayed here a week ago and had a lovely, large, sunny room. Came back a week later and was stuck in a tiny, dark, dirty room. I asked to be moved and was told that the manager would have to contact me the next day. Needless to say, I never heard back. I travel to Santa Barbara on business on a regular basis, and I will NEVER stay here again!

The staff was friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a mini suite. Outside noise was a bit of a problem, but nothing that was unbearable. The rooms do not have air conditioning, but the ceiling fans helped keep things cool, though we had to keep the windows open to allow cooler air to come in. The continental breakfast consisted of cereal, toast, muffins, coffee, juice, and hard boiled eggs. Nothing too fancy, but still a nice way to start the day. The hotel is at the end of the block across from the beach, so comfortable walking shoes are a must have. All in all, good place at a decent price.

Just the way they folded the towles showed me taste. The hotel over all was very nice and we enjoyed our stay. I did have a billing problem. The manager was very rude about the whole thing. I had to call Best Western Corp. to get the matter solved. Your business is as only good as its employees. I have been with Goodyear customer service for 20 years now and I know how it is.

"The hotel was clean, staff helpful, parking easy, and convenient location to the harbor and a park across the street with tennis courts and baseball diamond. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the continental breakfast was adequate. Will definitely stay here again"

Everything was great about the hotel. The only thing I think they need to do is to upgrade the outside area. The room was big and roomy with comfortable beds. They had a little fridge and microwave which was great. A little balcony was a nice touch. The clerk was a little unfriendly. And that's what I didn't like about the hotel. Otherwise everything was good.

Location to Stearn's Wharf. Hair in bathroom, no AC, screens on windows allowed all the noise in and no glass. The only saving grace for this hotel is the location. I would not recommend it to anyone. The only reason we stayed there was because no other hotel would accommodate us for one night on Memorial Weekend.
