Pros: Great location-across the street from the beach. Comfortable beds, quiet rooms. Nice to have frig. and microwave with small kitchen. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping areas. Cons: I was billed initially for 2 nights when only one night was reserved on-line. Problem was corrected.

The hotel is perfectly located across from the beach in Carlsbad and close to lots of dining. It is a great price compared to the other surrounding more expensivie hotels. I would definitely select this hotel again for a return trip to Carlsbad.

We enjoyed the close beach access, one just had to cross the road to enjoy long walks on the beach. The road was too busy for children to cross but for adults it was great. There was a nice sitting area at the motel that overlooked the beach for wonderful sunset views. The rooms were nicely designed and one could use the kitchen area to prepare simple meals with the help of a microwave.

Location was across the street from the beach. It was within walking distance of food and shopping. Our plans included staying in a different area in a different hotel, but we were so dissatisifed with the new hotel that we ended up comeing back here to finish up our vacation. It was very clean and comfy. The room was large with a nice desk area. Nice breakfast.

Easy access to a beautiful beach, nice viewing deck, walk to restaurants, rooms are very comfortable, but you can hear your neighbors talking in the next room and mine were slamming their door all night going in and out. Staff was friendly, excellent continental breakfast. I would stay there again.

This Best Western was very comfortable. Right across the street from the beach. You had instant access to numerous walking options whether for exercise, restaurants or shopping. The landscaping was pretty. Staff was a kick, very friendly and personable. Parking could be a problem for larger SUV's as most of the spaces are small.

Across the beach was super and walking distance to Jr. Carlsbad was main reason for stay. Could use maintenance on minor things but very helpful friendly staff more than compensated. Good value for location and event we were attending.

The Best Western Beach View Lodge is ideally situated: directly across the street from a great beach with terrific walking/jogging paths, and an easy stroll to downtown Carlsbad ... itself a charming, low-stress seaside village. The continental breakfast was very satisfying, and all staff were wonderful and accommodating. The hotel seems a bit threadbare, however, and could use a little sprucing up. (I was told new carpets were on their way.) And I'm afraid my room had a rather unpleasant, persistent musty odor. Still, a good value when you consider the wonderful location, nice people, and breakfast included!
