The room was small, expensive for what it is and old. It looked more of a youth hostel than it did of a hotel, especially for the price charged. I would never return there with a girlfriend because it is simply not clean and just badly maintained.

Ocean location is exceptional, staff was extremely respectful. Nothing to state.

Great breakfast buffet, nice rooms with good view, nobody on the fantastic beach, bus stops directly in front of the hotel! But: also if you don´t book "all inclusive" you are still stucked with the drinks on the "all inclusive list" - and those are not really great!

On checkin, we were informed our reservation was cancelled by telephone! They had his name, but no e-mails,etc. This was reserved through travel website and pre-paid. Manager got us adjoining inferior rooms. Will always refuse hotel services and question travel website as a booking service if their clients can be treated as such. Manager gave me a written letter which can be forwarded. Had to obtain a in room safe key for a additional $3.00. This appeared to be a common key? We felt that it would be dangerous to leave valuables as sliding outside door wouldn't latch! Boo, Bah, Humbug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This hotel has a great ambience. The staff is really friendly and helpful, there's activities all day long for all ages, the food in the restaurant is great (100% costa rican food) plus it's always awesome to stay at a hotel with beach front. Impossible to not have a good time.

It was set right on the beach great for sunsets. The staff was very friendly and helpful, some even spoke english and if they did not speak english, they would go find someone that spoke english. Our bathroom had just been redone, the tile around the tub looked great, did not like the fact had to pay $3 a day for a key for the safe, the breakfast was great, you had 5 different menus to choose from.On Sunday they have a Breakfast buffet. The location was within walking distance from downtown Jaco, plenty of security around the property even at night.

The hotel was well equipped with A/C, hot water showers and a fine swimming pool. The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly and daily maid service. Cable news service was offered in English which turned out to not be the case in Tambor at the Barcelo. [Jaco is more oriented to the US and Europeans, unlike Tambor which is a hot spot for Mexicans, Europeans, and SA.We never heard spoken English in Tambor. It also seems very isolated] Back to the BW in Jaco: The restaurant had a beautiful Sunday brunch, and each night a different special was offered. The daily breakfast was excellent. The CHEF really knows how to cook fish. The vegetables were perfectly done. The beach is clean and a lifeguard is on all day. If you needed a cab or a one day tour w/ Grayline, the concierge was very helpful setting everything up. I would recommend this hotel very highly by Costa Rica standards. I would recommend to the management that they seriously consider replacing the mattresses and pillows as they were hard and not very comfortable. It is not the Taj Mahal, but then we were in Costa Rica, a lovely country with friendly, honest people.

The Best Western Jaco has a very friendly staff and the food is great. The breakfest they offer is very good and more then you can eat. The rooms smelled a little musty until the air conditoning was on for a while. This is the third time we have stayed there because of the great value and the location to town.

It's very resort-y. Lots of families and large groups of people. It felt hectic and not very relaxing to me. The room seemed to have paper-thin walls; my neighbors returned to their room (very drunk) at 2am and I heard every word of their conversation. The beach is gorgeous and the water is calmer here than in other places. The hotel is within walking distance to many things.

Disgusting hotel, mold in the bathroom, rust stains in the shower, tiles missing from the walls, terrible smell. Holes in the walls in the bedroom. The swimming pool looked scarey. We moved to another room which was just as bad, after two nights we could not stand it any longer so we moved to an other hotel. I have stayed at many BW hotels and always been comfortable, never again!

The service is good. There is a little club on the beach to have a good time at. Rooms were clean. Had 2 queen beds. Would recommend it to anyone staying in Jaco.
