Fine for a couple of nightsThe Annesley's location is its great plus. The staff were very good and friendly. The single room was really pretty small, and in a very hot spell the fan was a life-saver; I didn't even have to ask for it. The bathroom was fine except the old-fashioned hotel hairdryer - I thought they had long gone - and the low water pressure. I was on a room-only deal and I thought the breakfasts were rather expensive, so didn't try the food at all, but the menus were interesting and dinner looked quite good value. There was an attractive-looking garden.I'd certainly go back for a similar stay, but didn't see enough of the other accommodation to know whether the larger rooms would be good for a longer visit.

SLightly overpricedOne of the hottest rooms I have ever stayed in, not helped by the fact the bedroom window only opened about 4 inches, the bathroom window not at all. Bed was a bit too soft & spongy

Great Western Annesley House NorwichVery well-positioned with a bus stop outside and close to the city. Accommodation comfortable and staff attentive e.g. asked whether need help with luggage. Pleasant breakfast room. Full English cooked to nearperfection.

Annesley Hotel, NorwichI stayed in a single room. It was very small, but had everything I needed and was fine for one night. The rate was good, so I didn't mind being a bit cramped. My only 2 criticisms were that the room was very hot, even though the heating wasn't on and there was a lot of noise in the night from people moving around above me.

Georgian Style Hotel near town centrePleasant welcome from staff, room small but clean and tidy, old world feel to bar, restaurant in a conservatory overlooking small garden, very pleasing on the sunny evening I stayed. Food excellant but pricey.

Comfortable and friendly hotelThis pleasant little place exceeded my expectations with respect to professionalism and friendliness of staff. My room was good value at around 100 quid for 2 nights - it was a small corner room advertised for solo occupancy only and I found it to be of an adequate size for one, and pretty comfortable.Food was ok/good - I took continental breakfast in the elegant dining room (conservatory) and ordered a bite from the speedy room service menu (the home-made chilli which was nice but pricey at 12 quid). There's a 3 quid cover charge for room service.Wi-fi is super fast and free, a really welcome extra touch.I'd stay there again!

the room i was given was about 10ft square it felt like a prison cell an the decor was vile as it was in the whole hotel , i asked for another room as i didnt think than the room was good enough (£60 room only )only to be met with a very surly attitude from the receptionist but she did move me to another room but it was very clear she didnt want to the other room was bigger but very drab, good points are very easy to find and a very good pub ( the trowel and hammer ) down the rd

We stayed in room 10, which is a well finished big room with with a desk and two armchairs. The bathroom is a bit small but adequate. The hotel is nice. We got a rate of £70, which we thought was good value especially considering that internet access is free and that the hotel is in a great location for access to the city centre. My only negative comment concerns the breakfast (which was not included in the price of the room). On the first morning we went for breakfast at 9.30am. Although breakfast is officially till 10, the waitress had already cleared away most of the food from the buffet and wasn't best pleased to see us. At £6.50 each (for the continental) we got 1 and half pieces of toast, a coffee, and some grapefruit. We decided to have breakfast at the Starbucks down the road for the remainder of our stay after that experience.

As with some other reviewers, I found the breakfast poor value but I was in a hurry to leave that morning and could not take the time to look for an alternative. Otherwise the hotel was OK for what I wanted. This was a quiet time of year, hence the attractive deaql on the room, and the place felt very empty and therefore cold - but it was -4C outside! I had to use the electric heater in the room to get the temperature up but this might have been because I think the radiator thermostat had been turned down. Worth considering because it is very convenient for walking into Norwich.

It is a very nice hotel with friendly staff. Nice cosy single room with television and ironing board. The only downside was that the room was not centrally heated but the electric heater provided was very good and heated the room quickly. They provided me with a sandwich as I called to say that I was arriving late - this was nice. The reason that I gave a four for value for money and quality of the food was I didn't think that the continental breakfast was worth £7.50. The menue said help yourself to the buffet, but the buffet consisted of various fruits, cheese and different cerials. There was no bread rolls or pastries etc. that you would normally expect. The menu also included porridge, but that didn't arrive. So I felt that £7.50 for 1 glass of juice, 1 coffee and a couple of slices of toast was very expensive. As I walked into town a past a well known department store offering 10 cooked breakfast items for £3.99 which I would recommend!!

The accommodation is quaintly old fashioned and not for anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs but beautifully clean, comfortable and warm. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food excellent. Would recommend.

I cant judge the food as we did not partake. The price of £12.50pp for breakfast put us off - especially as you could walk 5 mins towards the city and get a FULL breakfast for less than half that.Again with the evening meal - all mains starting at £20.00 seemed a little dear. Again there was a very nice Restaurant nearby which was much more competitive and again with literally dozens in the city only 5 mins walk away. This was a shame as everything else was excellent.

I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
