I can not fault this hotel, from the friendly and efficient check in to the "craic" with the locals in the bar. I will definitely be back. Thanks everyone at the Ambassador

Nice hotel, we got a good price. Very clean. It's close enough that we walked down to some restaurants and pubs easily, a bit harder to walk down to the other side of the river for shopping, but you can, we went ahead and took the car for that. Safe area, don't know what that one reviewer was talking about. Free parking. On top of a hill so it's a nice view of town from your window. Only real complaint was they charge you for internet use, 2euros for 8mins, complete rip off there. And they didn't have many suggestions about things to do or where to eat, but there's fliers available.

Had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. Lovely, big, bright room. Quiet location. Ten minutes walk to city centre. Will return

A lovely hotel, but is quite a walk up the hill from the City Centre. Staff here are very accomodating, and Don (Night Porter) can hold a conversation about anything you wish to discuss, including Irish history over a late night cap.

Very nice indeedStayed there 2 nights and booked the room at the last minute. Got a great price for a 4 stars hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel located 10 minutes walk from cork city centre. The room was lovely and with a great view of the city. Beds really comfy.Ate dinner at the Cocktail bar and the food was ok. Hotel has live Irish music on Sundays from 7 to 9 pm. Adult can use the gym but not when accompanied with children.

Bring a coat - the room and the bar were freezing! Very noisy and a bit of a walk into the town centre, esspecially when it is really cold.

Cheap, Good location, and really nice view to cityAmbassador Hotel is located near to city centre just 5 min walking and there is beatiful scenery on the city since hotel is located up in the hill. Free Gym and Jaccuzzi, Steam room and Sauna was nice also. We payed 70 euro room and it was really goop price for that level hotel. I would definetetly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Old style hotel with lots of character, huge rooms and friendly staffI don't think I've ever stayed in a hotel room as large as this in my life. Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the city - it was fabulous. Very near the city centre, though in a rather hilly area - no problem with taxis though.

good valuethe Ambassador was ideal for us as we didn't want to negotiate city centre in hire car, good decision as lots of one way streets and many city centre hotels don't have own parking. Hotel very clean, nice bathrooms etc and April on reception couldn't have been more helpful, recommending and booking restaurant and booking taxi for us. Location perhaps not best area if you want to walk but compensated by parking facilities. We only ate breakfast there but this was excellent. We had 2 rooms and room on 2nd floor very spacious, no lift to 3rd floor and room smaller but still nice. Excellent value

Nice Hotel, big room, comfy beds, service friendly when promptedThis is a traditional Victorian hotel, with decor more appealing to the older customer or familes on weekend break. Fine for business customers though didn't see any info regarding broadband in the rooms. My room on the top floor was large, though cool - fine for me as I hate hot rooms but some may find cold. Beds very comfortable.Service was friendly when prompted. Hot breakfast cooked to order was good. Handy for centre of city but a walk back up a steep hill.Only had bowl of soup which was fine, colleague had a wrap which she enjoyed.

Hotel in a good location, nice view of the city from the top of the hill. Staff are very helpful and charming. I had a lovely big spacious room, could not wish for better. Nice restaurant really lovely food, I enjoyed the seafood chowder. I will be returning at Easter all going well. It is a very distinctive hotel and has really got that old wordly charm about it.Best regardsMary O'Leary
