Some local attraction is a must see too! In the late 1800's, Steveston Village was the busiest fishing port in the world with fourteen fish canneries packing over 195,000 cases of salmon each year. Every summer, the harvest of salmon would see the community’s population grow by the thousands as Natives, Chinese and Japanese laborers arrived seeking seasonal work. Now over 100 years later, Steveston has evolved into a picturesque working fishing village that comes to life with plenty to see and do.

My family of 3 used this hotel for the night before our departure from Vancouver. We were impressed with the care the staff took to make sure we were booked on shuttles for an early departure to the airport (we were leaving at different times). They were also very helpful in assiting us in locating a specific restaurant. We would stay again.

The beds were comfortable. Overall appearance was out-dated. This was just a over-night stay after a trip. It was fine for that. We were on the non-smoking floor but I could still smell smoke in the hall and in our room.

The policies in place at this hotel make it an unacceptable place to stay. Although the room was OK (but 'quaint'), and the food reasonable, the hotel management has an exchange policy that is a complete rip-off. As an experienced traveler, I keep up on currancy exchange rates. During a September 2008 trip to Vancouver, over a few days the rate varied between Canadian dollar to each US dollar. Although my large purchases were by credit card, for small ones, I did use cash. Most of the small businesses or cabs where I spent cash worked on an even rate of exchange, but did give back US change so I didn't end up with a pocketful of Canadian coins. That seemed reasonable, since they did have to deal with banks, etc. However, when I needed to exchange US dollars at the Albercorn so I get a soft drink out of the vending machine, I found out their exchange rate is 90 Canadian cents for each US dollar...a differnce of 15 cents (and over 15%) from the official exchange rate! I was only looking to exchange a couple, but for other travelers who may not have been aware of the official rate, or felt they had to exchange large sums because of limited options of other places to exchange money, the hotel was making a bundle. In addition, on checkout they tried to charge me again for the room, claimed they could not find any mention of the reservations being pre-paid or online agency related, etc. Luckily I had my confirmation e-mail with me. This hotel is not recommended by me because of it's policies and shoddy accounting.

This was a good place to stay near the airport for a night or two. The room was clean and comfortable, but the hotel is a bit old and could use an update. The restaurant was good and the breakfast coupon that is included in the price can either be used for a complimentary continental breakfast or for $6 off the breakfast menu, which is quite good. We stayed here with our 13 month old son and the room was big enough to set up the playpen for him to sleep in and he still had plenty of room to play and crawl around.

Great relaxed atmosphere, excellent value and really pleasant and pleasing hotel staff, particular in the pub/restaurant. NA. This was our first time in Canada so we do not know if the location was good, but as a family with a young child we loved the relaxed manner. The fact that the hotel was small, created a more intimate and friendlier climate. Families with older children would be hard-pressed to occupy their minds/time, but otherwise cleanliness, hygiene, quality and cost of food in the restaurant, the vouchers for free breakfast in the morning, and the free shuttle to and from the international airport, were beyond fault.

Ended up in a line behind 4 others at check-in, just after 7pm. It was way too long to wait to get into a hotel. One person was having difficulty with his credit cards, not helping the line-up, but the one front desk staff member was overwhelmed. Someone, maybe a manager, should have stepped in to help. Every other time in the evening when I walked by there was at least one person waiting behind the one being served. The rooms were nice and clean, decorated sort of old-inn style. Beds aren't new, but were not uncomfortable. The restaurant here is fantastic though. The food is home cooked British goodness! The small breakfast buffet is pretty good too, considering ti's included in the room price. I will probably stay in another venue and come use the restaurant for meals, like I normally do when visiting this area.

This is a good hotel for night between flights. The rooms are good and so is the staff. However, the restaurant was only open from 5 to 9pm and I wasn't informed of the hours, even after I asked when it would open. There isn't much in walking distance.

Near interstate. Hallways were dark. Needs to be updated, renovated. Seemed dark and dingy.

"Staff was very friendly and courteous. Room had a bad aroma but was clean. Toilet had an internal drip. I'm sure they would have given me another room but, I didn't bother telling the staff because I was there for only 1 night."

Excellent location, easy access to Freeways. I did not like the late night construction on the road in front of the hotel, out of the hotels control but compensation would have been nice.

"This was one of the cheapest places near the airport, yet the room and overall place was really quite amazing!!! The room was very large, there was a large jacuzzi in the bathroom, and a nice seating area in the room as well. Would definitely recommend staying there."

Good location near the airport, clean rooms and comfortable surroundings. Our room was 2 double beds. Would have been nicer if had a queen. Convenient location, clean and comfortable rooms. Restaurant food was extremely delicious and breakfast was fast and convenient.

"We stayed 2 nights at the end of our vacation. The hotel was clean and suprisingly quiet with its proximity to the airport and traffic. The shuttle bus to the airport was very convenient. We ate in the pub both nights and found the staff very pleasant , but the food only mediocre, but I really didn't expect gourmet food in an airport hotel. The biggest issue I had with this hotel was the comfort of the beds. I woke up both mornings with a terrible backache. "

Close to airport, good shuttle service, good restaurant, very comfortable rooms, clean. We enjoy the Abercorn inn. Friendly service, clean modern comfortable rooms, good restaurant, close to airport, good shuttle service.

"We got in late and the restaurant was still open, and staff was always friendly and courteous. Food was good, not fantastic, but about what you would expect. Rooms were clean, and the hotel had a cozy feel. The only thing that really needed to be done was new paint, but this was mainly on the exterior walls in the front of the hotel. Shuttle service was a little late, but courteous and we still made it in plenty of time to get to our cruise ship. Breakfast is good, and staff was always pleasant and courteous. "

Clean, comfortable beds, mini fridge, coffee/tea in room. Only 2 computers in 'business office. This hotel is close to the airport and across the street from Costco and a couple of blocks away from Rona. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable with a variety of free channels on the TV.

Our room was at the front of the building facing a busy street. It was quite noisy even late at night. The printer at the business center broke and we could not print our boarding passes. Hotel staff was not willing to let us use the printer inside the office (I am sure they have one). Free Continental Breakfast was limited to two persons per room with very few choices.

The lobby decoration is very home style and holiday like. The parking lot is too crowded. Superior hotel for a price of $48 tax and fees.

Was comfortable, clean, secure with good amenities. N/A It had good access to both the city of Vancouver and to the airport, if the latter is important to the traveler, it wasn't to me. Its Scottish theme was quite pleasant and not over done. We did not eat at the hotel but we did receive breakfast vouchers which was a nice touch. Overall I would stay there again.
