The Hotel Experience was very enjoyable and the staff was very kind. However, there was a misunderstanding about whether or not I had already payed via orbitz for my hotel room prior to check in (which I had). It caused problems for me as well as the hotel staff- the chain of communication needs to be looked into and adjusted so that this kind of error can be avoided in the future.

We stayed at the hotel when we went Put-In-Bay. The location is very close to the ferry and the hotel even offers complimentary transportation to the ferry. It was very nice to not to worry about finding a designated driver?..the hotel did that for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable similar to ( Days Inn or a Super 8). The offered free continental breakfast and internet access in the lobby. They also had a beautiful pool overlooking lake erie!

We have a wonderful time on our vacation in the Port Clinton. We spent 1 week at this hotel. I would definitely stay again. I am glad I went to see the hotel for myself, and did not base my stay on other's opinions, even thought our initial room needed improvement. After I spoke with the front office, we were moved to another room which was very clean & confortable. In all fairness, this hotel is a great bargain. You have a clear view of the lake, which is about maybe 50 feet from the outdoor pool . You can see the jet express in route to put-in-bay. The hotel was within minutes from everywhere we wanted to visit, the sites and resturants were minutes away. I feel what we paid was a bargin. The staff was very kind. My 11 year old son had a ball. He loved this hotel.

Because of construction, we arrived to our hotel later in the evening. When we got there they gave a room that was not what we booked and would not accomodate us. When we went back they said they only had one more room and that was it. Luckily we got there when we did or we would have been out of luck as we purchased this on a good buy rate. There is no elevator and the doors really don't allow you to get through easily with luggage. The pool was outdoor and needed to be swept for bugs. The vistor computer didnt work and I spent over 1 hour trying to fix it for the poor girl at the front desk, but was unable to get it to work. And after a certain time most of the town shuts down, so if you are looking for a late dinner good luck.

Best Budget Inn and Suites seems to be generally in need of repair. The room was adequate but no refrigerator, no closet, no hairdryer. (A hairdryer was available from the front dest.) The shower area had peeling paint on the ceiling, no drain stop in the sink, and a light that took so long to come on that we finally decided not to turn it off. The setting was very nice, right on the lake. The employees were very friendly and helpful. They gave us good recommendations for area restaurants that we truly enjoyed. We would not return to this hotel but would return to the area.

After spending an hour trying to get our reserved rooms, we should have gone somewhere else. Gave me a key to a room already occupied by another guest. When I got my room it wasn't cleaned yet and it was 6:45 in the evening. Bathroom door handle and lock was broken and the jacuzzii tub shower combo leaked water all over the floor. TV didn't work. No coffee pot like advertised and the iron was full of residue. Hotel staff spent time answering phones instead of helping us as we were trying to check in. Towels were hard and had to find my own soap under the sink. I am sure my room wasn't cleaned, just the sheets changed because it was the front desk that had to do it. Lights were burned out in the courtyard and way to many balcony rooms had no chairs. Went to McDonald's for breakfast as their "deluxe" continental breakfast was stale donuts and bagels. Outside parking lot doors didn't lock for security. Stayed here because we wanted a view of the lake. Didn't happen. Wasn't worth the *.

This hotel messed up our reservation and promised us amentities it did not have. After telling the front desk, the lady argued with us and bad mouthed us to other customers she was helping, right in front of us. The rooms are filthy, with stained carpets, holes in the walls, old comforters with holes in them, and old torn wallpaper. It is not worth the money, go to the Comfort Inn next door, we did and we enjoyed our weekend much better.

The carpet had not been swept, dust on tv and night stands, hangers, window sills and the bedding (UNDER BLANKET AND SHEETS) were stained very badly. Luckily we brout a few pillows and blanket. NO ASHTRAY!! And when asked, not available. Desk person said she had told the manager several times about this but she would not purchase any, We went and bought and ashtray. No smoke alarms, or sprinkler systems we could detect other than out side in the hall way. THEN>>> On our anniversary night, My wife went to shower before dinner. After 1 minute, no HOT WATER!! Shut the water off 3 times and waited with soap on her and still no Hot Water! I called the desk and they assured us that had never happened before. my wife has Rey nods disease which once cold takes and hour or so to warm up. Extremeties go almost frost bitten, turn white, no circulation, etc... Did not get the soap out of hair & body till next Morn. ON OUR ANNIVERSARY!! Staff was very nice and offered to move us again. Whats the point by then? leaving the next day. Oh and our key card did not work the 2nd day, Could not get into our room! someone programed it wrong they said, They did give a 1 night discount,We did not ask!! I just let them know that this was unaceptable for a vacation, we were willing to pay for our trip, always are! want nothing free!! just to have fun on our trip!!! EXPECT good hotels, we don't travel alot but at least 3-4xs a yr. We pay and just want a pleasant stay. This was NOT A pleasant stay but definetly memorable! Will never stay with them again and we go to Port Clinton every year.

The hotel was very clean and the rates were reasonable. The beds are comfortable. The pool was refreshing after a hot day on Put-in-Bay. I would stay there again.

This was the dirtiest place we have ever stayed in. My husband and I do alot of weekend traveling, and we have never been so disappointed. The first thing I noticed upon arriving was how small the room was. Our refrigerater sat on the floor. Our microwave (which was dirty inside) was sitting on top of our safe. Above the two was where you were supposed to hang your clothes. This couldn't happen because the microwave was in the way. The floor had not been swept. (nor was it swept all weekend when I requested maid service) We asked for a smoking room. There were no ashtrays. When my husband went to the desk to request the ashtrays, he was given small plastic cups. (a little scary to think people are melting cups while we were sleeping) There was no top sheet on one of our beds. The nightstand was filthy. There were cobwebs on the wall lamp. We went to the desk for a remote because we couldn't find one. It did not work. Half of the channels did not come in. (including the ones that were in the binder in the room) There was no screen in our window. I had to clean the sink and tub before we could settle down for the evening. Our patio doorknob did not work. (luckily we were upstairs) When we arrived there was no soap to wash our hands. One morning I requested maid service and I swear they re-folded a hand towel that we had used and hung it back up. I was reduced to tears at the sight of this room. The pool area is completely run down. (Not that you can use an empty pool) We spend alot of time in Port Clinton, Ohio but we will never spend any of that time at the Best Budget Inn & Suites. I feel they owe me for staying there.

When we arrived at the hotel and received our room key, we looked all over for the room and then asked the front desk person if she could help us, The exterior door was outside of the front door. I did not feel safe with the door being hallow and being right in front of the parking lot. Thankfully the desk clerk did updrade us to a non smoking room with a jacuzzi.... well, the beds were comfortable, but I was with my son and his friend, and there was only a shower curtain that tried to cover the entrance to the bathroom!

Check in was a hassle. Staff took too long to find our reservation. No elevator. Our room was filthy. We found dirty towels in the bathroom, trash on the floor including frech fries in front of the nightstand. When we pulled back the sheets we discovered that not only were they not changed, but were left with human waste on them. When we called the desk to inform them we were told that housekkeeping had left and nobody could change our sheets. We had to go down to the desk, get clean bedding and make our own bed. These people should not only be ashamed of themselves, they should seek employment in another industry. Their attitude towards their guests is the worst you could imagine. We have sent an e-mail to the corporate office about this, but quite frankly expect no response as I'm sure they have had numerous complaints in the past. My best advice,,,DON'T STAY HERE!!!!

The view from the court yard was fabulous. We stayed 3 nights and each day there was something lacking in room. From toliet paper (that was fun!) to no wash clothes, to no cups. Although the staff was friendly--it takes a little bit more than that to be efficient.

"First they double booked our room, and we walked in on another couple. Then they said they would upgrade us for the mix up, however the room had no extras. We had no towels, no remote, no coffee pot, and several other things that were to be included. When I went to take a shower there was no temperature control, I could get scalding hot only. The staff never smiled, and seemed to be inconvienced when we had a problem. I will NEVER GO BACK, and would never recommend this hotel!!!!!!!"
