how can a hotel allow their customers to wait almost 2.5 hours to check in on a 4th of July weekend? The front office should be fired.

we thought...'good for the price'. NOT! really bad service - no customer care at all. no parking - meters! pool area was a mess - hotel was dirty. weeds everywhere. those 'private cabanas' at the pool? overgrown w/ weeds. no fire evacuation info in rooms. no info at all in rooms. tv was flat screen - but no channels. only 4, and none network, none clear. bathroom - couldn't reach the TP from the toilet, and the shower - ugh - had to get in to turn it on, mold on grout. oh - and the bugs in the bathroom! couldn't change the temp - always freezing. elevators weren 't working. no restaurant or club. no signs anywhere. i mean - how much of an effort would it take to put up a piece of paper saying where the check-in desk is? or where the rooms are off an elevator? basically you have 4 choices...and the only thing they said was 'the owner hadn't gotten around to putting the signs up'! after a year? say what? really - you don't matter a bit while you're there. and the cost really wasn't worth it. i could say it 'could be great', but not w/ the current owners and managers. doors - none of the bells worked. no security. they came into our room w/ the do not disturb sign on, saying we were leaving that day! then - no - we paid for another night. the desk says they took care of it - except upon returning to the room after dinner....keys didn't work. and the desk - oh, yes, we extended your stay. NO YOU DIDN"T - we reserved this night! and...do you want a key? DUH! oh - the sink is stopped up - do you want it fixed?

This hotel was awful. We got a room with a veiw of the water, the window was so dirty we couldn't see out of it. there was a half eaten bag of chips left in our bureau. No parking for customers. Exposed electrical wires in room. A rickety old elevator.

we have traveled all over the world and never been treated like this! plan on letting every travel agency online know, and all the dance competitions we attend know not to even use them as a host hotel again!

HORRIBLE!!!. . .dirty, unkept, practically nonexistant dining facilities. Not enough room nor worth the time describing this hotel nor Asbury Park in general. Can't imagine what or who this hotel is good for.

Hotel was clean and rooms were very nice. Parking was a problem. Internet ad said free parking; however, the hotel lot was very small and we had to park at meters on the street. Hotel should have compemsated us for the cost or provided more parking.

location is great, only a few steps from the boardwalk and beach. Room was clean but nothing special...a nice light breakfast was offered in the lobby, there were only two working tv channels , and although the staff was upfront about the problem when we check in, nothing seem to be being done to fix the problem.

Parking was a bit rough . I think they were understaffed because the lines to check in were very long. Wish they had a mini fridge and microwave in the rooms , but the rooms are very nice and clean.Great location.

The room was at the end of the hallway and faced the ocean! It is one of the most luxurious non-suite rooms I have ever stayed in. You will not be disappointed with the accomodations here. Even the regular rooms were equally pristine. Do not let the exterior of this hotel fool you. It has a top notch interior. Everything you could ever want to do In Asbury Park is in walking distance. I would stay here again repeatedly.

I would recommend this hotel only to my worst enemies.

It was great service- the staff was very nice and friendly and helpful whenever we needed. The room was great- very clean and awesome decor. Very comfortable beds. They gave us whatever we needed when we asked. Very close to the boardwalk and beach so it was a perfect location. All around great stay!

The hotel was disappointing. The room did not have a TV, the hotel was noisy, and when I took a shower I found brown water running out for faucet. I was happy that I only booked the room for one night so I could get the hell out of there.

Great place, super cool modern rooms, recently refurbished with very stylish and colorful design. My hotel reservation was not at the desk when I got there, not sure if it was Orbitz' fault or theirs. Either way, they honored the price I found online through Orbitz, and I was in my room in less than five minutes. Scary old elevators. I took the stairs.

The hotel is much nicer on the inside than it looks like on the outside. The rooms are spacious and feel new. Great bed. The TV system was not working properly while we were there. Parking is bad. You have to find a place on the street. When we got there, we had to park about 4 blocks away. If we had to pay the "normal" cost of our room, I would say that the hotel was a lousy value. The Orbitz price was GREAT (1/2 the normal cost).

the berkeley is perfected located in a resurging city. there is the beach, boardwalk, entertainment and great restaurants, especially D&L Barbecue. this is a don't miss hotel that has undergone a great renovation. the rooms are decorated wonderfully. the staff are polite and friendly.

They do not have 300 thread count cotton sheets and down comforters on the beds as they claim they do. If you like polyester blend sheets and you're able to sleep soundly on them, then this is the place for you.

Berkely Oceanfront Hotel was comfortable. The rooms were spacious and clean. This is an old hotel and is evident that they are renovating. Very convenient to the Asbury Convention hall. The only drawback was they do not have a parking lot onsite.

This place has just been refurbed. It still has some rough edges.
