The Hotel Belvedere was built in 1912 and had much more Personality & Mystery to us than some of the newer hotels, therefore we wouldn't expect the rooms to be ultra modern. We had a balcony which was nice although it could use some maintenance, also the wall covering in the bedroom was peeling in 2 or 3 places. We were assigned a room which was a triple & it was just the 2 of us. It was really 2 rooms, a small sitting area with a twin bed, tv, desk & closet and the bath opened into it, close to the door, then a separate bedroom with 2 twins together. While we found it rather charming, felt as if we were stepping back in time, it was a little inconvienent to go to the bathroom during the nite & the way the window opened in the bedroom, I had to close it to go past. We looked at some of the other rooms when they were being cleaned, they seemed to be modernized & we didn't see another like ours, so perhaps it is one still to be updated. We enjoy old buildings, that are being preserved & we did have a Beautiful view of the mountains from both windows which to us, made up for the other areas. We only had breakfast there which was included & was fine, the dinner was a 3 or 4 course deal which seemed popular in Europe, we would have preferred a menu to order from.
