Available Recreation: Belize*s Barrier Reef is a ribbon of life that runs for 186 miles along the coast making it the largest in the Western Hemisphere. Belize has long been one of the world*s supreme adventure-diving destinations and just offshore from Belizean Dreams is an underwater paradise. A full range of diving instruction is available. As an affiliate of a PADI 5 Star Golden Palm Resort all divers would receive a PADI certification upon course completion. All courses include equipment- required dives and certification cards. Our concierge would be happy to assist you with any questions you have regarding dive instruction. Lighthouse Reef- the Turneffe Island Atoll and Glovers Reef Atoll together cover more than 400 square miles with a total of 140 miles of drop-off walls. Incredibly- these atolls comprise as much reef surface as the Belize barrier reef itself. These Belizean atolls- unlike Pacific atolls built on volcanoes- actually sit atop two parallel submarine ridges close enough to the surface to allow the formation of massive coral and sponge growths. Each day in Belize overflows with expedition potential. Hiking trails winding through jungles lead to lakes- rivers and idyllic waterfalls. You can become immersed in the fascinating natural history of Belize while exploring excavated Mayan ruins. Horseback riding and cave exploring trips are Belizean mainstays and easily accessible. In Belize- bonefish- tarpon and permit are so numerous it is a fly fisherman*s dream come true. Belize is one of very few places on earth where a Flats Slam -landing a tarpon- a bonefish- and a permit all in one day- is not uncommon. From Belizean Dreams- it is a 15 minute run from your luxury villa to unspoiled- un-crowded flats where bonefish form huge- roving schools. Our concierge would be delighted to send you specific information regarding available trips and select the most experienced guides to ensure an adventure of a lifetime. Belizean Dreams was exactly the get away my wife and I were looking for. The rooms were comfortable and roomy, the grounds well kept and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant and pool (side by side and in front of the beach) is a great place to relax. The hotel has 7 houses, each containing 3 rooms and each comparable to a very nice hotel room. One can rent just the room, or the whole house. If you do not care for TV, I recommend the upstairs room which was what we had. For TV, and kitchen/ breakfast area, you would want to upgrade your room, and do specify this. The layout for each building is ideal for a couple, a family or 2-3 couples.

My wife and I enjoyed our vacation at Belizean Dreams immensely. Our Villa was spacious and well appointed with all the items needed to be self sufficient and entertain. The excursions were among the best we have ever had the pleasure of experiencing and included cave tubing, zip lining through the jungle, visiting some Mayan ruins and diving. The diving was unbelievable! Through our whole trip we never felt rushed and the staff at Belizean Dreams went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. If you are looking for a vacation in a truly unique and untouched environment then Belizean Dreams is sure to please. We can’t wait to go back and experience the things we weren’t able to fit in on our last trip.

It's hard to write this review. I have such mixed emotions about this vacation. The hotel was beautiful and the room was spacious and very clean. Getting to the hotel was a different story it is located 2 and 1/2 hours way from the international airport and far from almost all activities. It would be in your best interest to rent a car if you don't want to be stuck on the resort or pay pricey transfer fees. The food and service at the only restaurant was terrible and over priced. We walked to near by resorts to eat whenever possible. The highlight of our trip was our super friendly and knowledgeable concierge. He suggested lots of great activities and gave us lots of information about Belize and Hopkins the town that was near by. If not for him I think our vacation would have been a bust. If your dependent on television bring a portable dvd player because the basic rooms do not include them. Overall our stay was nice. I think next time I will choose another place that will give me 100% of what I am looking for.

First - this is not a 5 STAR hotel. It looks new and quite pretty, I'll give them that. That's where the good news ends. My wife and I usually take 2 trips a year, and this one was the worst we've had - by far. We had to take 3 flights just to get here. Our rather large room had NO TV or PHONE. The bathroom has no roof of its own - it basically is part of the large studio - something we have NEVER seen before; it's disgusting. It also had a window into the bathroom right behind the bed - the design is ridiculous. The sand fly/ mosquito situation is awful - we could not go out at night even though we covered ourselves in bug spray. They rent DVDs here that are pirated and mostly shot with a video camera. The tours were OK, except on our fishing trip the guide's boat stalled 3 times - we had to get a boost from another boater. The food was average at best, and there are no other options except a neighboring hotel; the food there is even worse. The village of Hopkins looks like something out of a horror show - there are no houses here I would pay more than $50 for, and I'd be overpaying. We went once and did not return. And all of this is not even the worst part - THERE IS PRETTY MUCH NOTHING TO DO but sit on the beach and eat. We watched at least 7 DVDs on our laptop, 6 of which were really bad quality. We were counting the days till we leave - we are flying back to frigid New York in 5 hours, and I could not wait to review.
