The Beech Tree Inn was my first experience with a bed and breakfast, and I'm not sure what one should expect from one versus a regular hotel. At arrival, the staff was quite friendly and informative. The gentleman gave me a very detailed explanation of how things worked there, including the set-up for breakfast. Which honestly could be intimidating to a first-timer to a B&B until it's explained. We did not leave the room in time for breakfast either day, but all signs point to it being a more than adequate breakfast, with menus for food made to order. He also gave me gobs of info on attractions, and how to get places. The room itself was very attractive, and a good size. The bathroom had a gigantic jacuzzi, as well as a stand up shower. Both were clean and completely functional. No shortage of hot water or pressure. We walked in with wine, but had forgotten to leave home with a corkscrew. Right on the dresser was a pair of wine glasses and a corkscrew. That's the kind of thing you remember. Everything was in working order, including the kitchen on our floor which was shared with two other rooms. We had full use of the kitchen's fridge, microwave, etc. Which was a nice amenity. There was also a very large patio on the floor which we found to be quite nice. The only issues we had were 1)we did not leave the room until AFTER the maid had done her rounds of making up the rooms, replacing the towels, etc. We left the 'service please' sign on the door for the next 5 hours; and when we returned, nobody had come back. At this point, I should have called, but did not, so it is not necessarily a point of concern. ALSO, this might be one of the understood nuances of a B&B, not having a dedicated 24/7 maid service. Totally understandable. The other issue was the temperature. It was a hot weekend to start with, and it was easily 78 degrees in the room. We did not address with the staff on the first day, and should have, as it did not improve the next night. The hallway thermosta

The owners were wonderful. the guests were pleasant, courteous and friendly. A nice place to spend a long weekend!
