pricey but good overall paid for quality

Good quality reasonably priced accommodationThe hotel is very friendly and comfortable, especially the beds. Don't go looking for modern boutique, this is the opposite, but everything is very tidy and clean. Altogether a very pleasant hotel for a short stay.

Free upgrade to a very nice double room on arrival. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was great. Definitely stay again.

Home from Home Perfect hotel for those seeking that 'home from home' atmosphere. I stayed in Room No 1 which is great for anyone not wanting to climb stairs. A very comfortable, clean, quiet and well decorated hotel. The garden is lovely to sit in, with complimentary tea / coffee. Hotel owners always polite and helpful. Really enjoyed my stay.

Friendly, helpful staff who made their clients feel valued and important. Beautiful clean roomsWe found the proprietor and his staff to be most courteous and felt that we were treated to first class customer service. We had booked a superior room and were treated to a super kingsize bed which was spotlessly clean. the room was enormous and also the bathroom of enormous proportion (beautifully tiled and a large double shower.Food was excellent also.

Beech House Hotel, jolly nice placeThought this was very good value for money, a clean hotel, well cared for. TV in the room had built in DVD player - a nice touch, even though I have not used it yet. Breakfast freshly cooked and well presented. - I will be using this hotel as my main place whilst working in reading.

Good with odd misgivingsHotel taken over in April by new owners. Hotel is fine but breakfast seemed to be largely pre-cooked and then microwaved with exception of egg. Even then, when delivered to the table it was only luke warm. Hotel needs tweaking.

Excellent small hotel. Very friendly owner and really helpful. First impressions on the outside are very impressive, really nice looking hotel, lovely gardens to the rear, impressive hallway and reception area. I left at 6.45am next morning but I was still able to get a quick breakfast, a very accommodating team and would recommend to anyone, great experience and price too.

The smallest room in BerkshireI had a very small room but it was ok for one night. Room was clean and comfortable otherwise. Very friendly receptionist and OK breakfast. However, I was presented with the cooked food before I had finished my cereal resulting in a luke warm breakfast.

BreakfastLovely dining room for breakfast. Cereals, yogurts, fruit juice and fruit set out out for self service. Orders taken at table for tea or coffee, toast and full English breakfast. This was good, two rashes of bacon, sausage, fried egg. I would have preferred fresh tomatoes rather than tinned. Perhaps a choice of scrambled egg also.

Vey CleanSome background music during breakfast would be nice, people were whispering so as not to be heard. Hotel was spotlessly clean, room was adequate, tho slightly strange - no mirror near hairdryer.

Lovely clean hotel with helpful staffWe enjoyed our stay at this hotel which was spotless with lovely helpful staff and good food. The shower was powerful and hot and the location was perfect. The garden was a plus - beautifully kept and I would recommend this hotel. The value for money was superb

How lovely to stay somewhere that is not a generic, bland, hotel. This hotel was clean, very friendly and helpful. It was ideally placed for town, being just a few minutes drive (although this was off-peak times) and had a nice pub across the road for a pint. Getting there is easy from the M4. If you are looking for 5* then this is not the place for you but if you want somewhere small and personal, then this is it. Breakfast was great too.

Good Accomodation received a friendly welcome. The hotel was very clean and to a good standard and the breakfast was very nice. My only disappointment was the beefeater across the road which had poor service and the food wasnt much to shout about either.

Good place to stay. Breakfast was good, hot and fresh. Shower was great - even temperature and plenty of flow. My bed could have seen better days but it was OK. The bill was weird - showed the figures three times and on each the VAT breakdown was different! However I will definitely stay here again and it can't be faulted on value for money.

I was disappointed with the hotel bearing in mind the positive feedback already posted. The room was unbearably hot, the bed was most uncomfortable. The TV remote wasn't working and the TV housing unit was dusty enought to write your name in!I probably wouldn't stay here again.
