While the front desk hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the cleaning staff had selective memory. Upon arrival, we discovered Donut sprinkles in between the sheets on one bed with a long black hair on my pillow, and a very large love stain on the other bed. We left our room to tour Fenway Park and and when we returned, one bed was made and the other was not. As traveler, BAD BAD BAD! As a Boston Red Sox fan, the hotel's proximity to Fenway was great - a 15 minute walk through a safe neighborhood. Be sure to check the bed!

Location was excellent. Train stop was across the street and made traveling in to Boston a piece of cake. We chose this location because of proximity to Fenway Park since we were taking in a night game. Parking was available but needed to be reserved ahead of time and was an additional cost. But it was less expensive then parking anywhere else in the city! A light continental breakfast was provided, nothing fancy but it did the trick!

Great location, we wanted to be near Fenway but without the seediness that's associated with being too close to Fenway. Nice comfortable rooms, quaint New England decor, large flat screen TV, and a decent bed. Top floor rooms can be a climb (4 flights?). Breakfast is pretty weak.

The best part of this hotel is the fantastic staff. Everyone, from the cleaning staff to the front desk clerk, is very helpful and polite. There are specific types of rooms which you can look at on their website; every room is different. There is no elevator and stairs can be a problem depending on room location, but the hotel is very quaint and attractive.

We stay in Boston all the time and we decided to try someplace new near fenway. Glad we did it was beautiful, inexpensive and great location. We went to the sox game that day and we could see fenway from the front step of Beacon Inn. The room was HUGE and BEAUTIFUL!

Probably the best value in Boston. The "T" transit is right outside your door. A grocery store and several resturants are within walking distance. The rooms were clean with a very friendly staff. The building is an old brownstone with very clean rooms and a adequate small breakfast thrown in. There are no elevators so its probably not a good choice for folks who require same. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

My daughter and I recently traveled to Boston to visit Boston University. The Beacon Inn was great! We loved the room and it is right across the street from a T stop.

Staff was always friendly. Rooms are comfortable, and most importantly gives the local feel to your trip. Perfect for young singles and couples. Although we booked a single queen room online with fireplace before our trip, we were shown to a narrow double full room with no fireplace. In the end, we were given the top floor single queen with no fireplace-and because of the top floor-extremely low ceilings. This oversight was not welcomed. Tip: rooms booked to the back of the townhouse offer extremely small windows. We stayed in the 'Haymarket' room towards the front. Bed sheets were slightly worn out. Small television, clean towels, AC, and stand up shower.

My son and I stayed at the 1087 Beacon Hill while visiting Boston University. The inn was very charming with loads of character. Our room was on the 4th floor (walk-up) which sounds awful, but wasn't bad at all; the lady at the front desk even carried by luggage up to the room. Our room had a huge walk-in closet, 2 full-size beds, nightstand, desk & chair, wing-back chair, fireplace, 40 flat screen TV, ironing board & iron, and a gigantic private bath (in our room, not across the hall). Everything was very clean and the staff was extremely helpful from tips on restaurants to getting us extra pillows. The Inn is very quite and just across the street from the T making the Inn is very accessible from all points in and around Boston. Thanks to the staff at 1087 Beacon Inn for making us feel at home. We will definitely stay again!

As I was travelling for a conference I left the hotel - early in the morning - before 8AM - hence could not appreciate the breakfast. The location is a good 30 minute T-tube ride to the backbay area where my conference took place. The first 2 nights I spent in a good Second floor room. It was quiet, had enough space and a bath. Then on the third night I got a small room in the 4th floor which was small, no side bed table and had only a shower. I could not get calls to the room, as I left before the front desk hours -which was problematic for me. There was a nearby Starbacks where I could found coffee in the morning.

Very good location for my needs. Was not interested in amenities but rather location, comfort and accessibility to public transportation. Bonuses were nice neighborhood, close inviting restaurants and decor of the room. Have told several friends about the hotel and I highly recommended it for it's outstanding value.

This was just a place for us to sleep/relax while we traveled the Boston area. It served it's purpose & we did appreciate the in-room refrig as well as the morning continental breakfast. It was an EASY jump onto the T/trolley/subway lines, tho it was about a 20 minute commute to the central/downtown area. We did use the subway system from the lodging out to the airport and it was quite do-able. approx 1 hour 15 minutes. Our room was on the 3rd floor. Lots of steps with luggage...but, I'd stay here again.

1750 Beacon Street Inn left much to be desired from the customer service stand point. The continental breakfast was less than continental as most of the food was gone when we went to get it (even though it was 10:00 and breakfast was supposed to be served until 11...hmm..) Anyway, the customer service and personal touch of the hotel was missing. The staff didn't really appear interested or very involved. If you don't care about customer service, then you'll be fine here. Otherwise, don't bother.

I stayed at the Beacon Inn 1750 in Boston. Room that was very comfortable and clean, with my own bathroom (I expected to share), good location, and helpful staff. The hotel is a couple of miles from Boston University (where I spent most of my time), and right on the Boston T green line. Continental breakfast was pretty bare bones, but again, I didn't expect much. Overall, this was absolutely great value for money if what you're looking for is a quiet comfortable room to sleep in and a good place from which to explore Boston. I would highly recommend it, and will happily go back myself.

This hotel was a great find. It is not your traditional multi room hotel but a converted row-house/brownstone. Each room is uniquly different and comfortable. The rooms are not new but are well kept and perfect for a weekend trip to Boston. The price was very reasonable and the location was only a few miles from the center of the city. The green line T is a very short walk from the Hotel for a quick ride into the city.

The Beacon Inn 1750 is a bed-and-breakfast that has rooms within a Victorian-era three-story Brownstone. Large bay windows allow in plenty of natural light. Comfortable bed and rustic atmosphere with daily maid service and minimal breakfast. Small television but wireless internet access. Bathroom is more than adequate but not spectacular. Restaurants, shops and parks within walking distance. Great Victorian brick and stone architecture and Boston atmosphere all about. Subway-Trolley in the median of Beacon Street running mostly East giving easy access to Government Center, Fenway Park and other historic sights without having to drive there. Large front light separates The Beacon Inn from other similar buldings at night.

I am not usually one to complain and I have never written a review before but I felt like I had to this time. I was very dissatisfied with the Beacon Inn 1750. While the front desk staff were pleasant, the room itself was not. The two throw rugs in the room (one in the bedroom and one in the bathroom) were filthy. The shower curtain in the tiny shower was moldy. The bed was extremely hard and the sheets were rough and had pills all over them. A combination of the hardness of the bed and the roughness of the sheets rubbed the skin off my elbows. Perhaps we were allergic to the laundry detergent used, but we itched all night long. If the blow dryer, tv, and air conditioner were on at the same time, we blew a breaker. Since front desk staff was not always easy to find, after a few days of staying there, we learned to flip the breaker ourselves. We were so dissatisfied that we began looking for another place to stay just to be able to sleep, knowing that we wouldn't get our money back. Unfortunately for us, it was a busy week in Boston and we couldn't find another place to stay other than $400-$600 per night rooms. I will never stay at the Beacon Inn 1750 again, nor at any of their other locations.

Our son lives in nearby Coolidge Corner, so this was a very handy location. It is very close to dining, shopping and the T stop to Boston. We had one of the smaller rooms, it was very cozy four floors up. Our room wasn't spotless, but clean enough for us. Friendly people, simple breakfast, and the right location for us.
