Date of Stay: January, 2007

After a very long flight you have to wait for other flights to arrive before they bring you to the hotel. Food is quite bad: hamburger the size of a sheet of paper and pizza with no taste. They also switched our telephone line to an internet line so we could not get any telephone calls, our line was always busy. Room privacy is not respected: they knock even though the sign is on. Cigarettes have a tendency to disappear from the room after the maid's visit. Management does not seem to care very much of small essentials: no gel douche, no slippers.

The resort looked quite run down and they seriously need to review staff training (especially restaurant). Food quality cannot be worse and the Tahitian Fire Dance dinner was a joke. This hotel charges you for shuttle bus service (not previously experienced in Bora Bora). When I got to the pick up point before 5:00 (which was the pick up time), the bus had already left. There was no explanation from the hotel. It was a big mistake to choose this hotel. I thought I couldn't go wrong with Intercontinental...

This experience for my wife and I was the worst. For a five star hotel it sure felt like we were in a one star western inn. The food, staff, facilities, and more needs to be redone. There was no entertainment for the guests. The staff needs to be re-trained to meet the five star accommodations. I would not recommend this resort to anyone. I had a better time BBQ in my backyard.I spend entirely too much money on this trip and received very little in return.
