Have stayed here 3 years in a row. A captains suite is definitely worth the extra dollar. Great ocean views, clean rooms, friendly staff.

We went down for a restful, relaxing beach vacation; however, many obstacles stopped this from completely happening. We were given a room next to a main exit door that slammed shut, this caused us to wake up many times while we were sleeping. The idea of an efficiency to them was a refrigerator next to our bed--very small room. The major problem we had is that every time we went back to our room, the room key card would not work and we had to go to the front desk to get a new one. The desk clerks kept making us cards that expired that day instead of the end of the week. This was extremely frustrating and annoying--would not stay there again.

The location, laundry unit, cleanliness, sister hotels lifesavers - they had a beautiful outdoor pool. I did like the location, cleaning staff did a great job, and the girls who told us about turtle coves pool and our purchase tickets for bush gardens and the aquarium.

The Resort webpage is very deceiving. The toilet is right by the door and the sink is across the room. The room in not color coordinated. Needs a lot of fixing up. The iron leaked and didn't get hot. I was very unhappy. Parking is another story it was very small the ramps were also hard to turn and go or down. Fitness was nice, but you had to pay to use. Dining there was no dining area in the place. Will not stay there again.

My family recenly had to stay in an area hotel because of work on our house, so with the help of online travel website we decided on the Clarion on 5th Street. We had a suite wth a full kitchen and all the extra things we needed. All the rooms are ocean front and the indoor pool and hot tub was open from 7am to 10pm. We booked the trip through online travel website and saved and additional 50.00 by using my mastercard. A suite on the beach for 50.00 a night. Thanks online travel website !!!

The location was perfect and the room was like a small apartment. The parking garage is very tight. Beautiful hotel located on the water front. Plenty of space with the sleeping quarters separate from the living and dining area.

We arrived early and we had a room ready. It was after Labor Day but the hotel was still quite busy. The staff was very helpful. We had to have our TV replaced due to a blown picture tube. The engineer was at our door with a new one within a very few mins. We were told they will be replacing all the TVs with flat screens within a few months. We had a problem with our room safe( I love having them in the room) not opening and the security person was at our door in just a couple of mins. No problem. Our room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. They had an activities director with lots of activities during the day for adults as well as children. Each night an up to date new release film was shown. Although, we didn't participate in any of the above, it was nice to know about them if there was a rainy day. Fresh baked and still warm cookies were served at the concierge in the late afternoon. We had great weather so the beach was where we were. It was out the back door. Very close. All rooms are ocean front view. I will definitely stay here again.

Getting up and down parking ramps without causing damage to one's car is almost impossible unless you have small vehicle. Our Trailblazer was damages trying to exit the 2nd level. We witnessed the same thing happen to another guest. The hotel assumes no responsibility and so we are left with the * bill so this wasn't quite the affordable get-a-way we hoped for. Be warned!!

Beautiful view with nice jetted tub. Linen and curtains torn or with holes, ill fitting bed linen. The beautiful view and balcony were wasted on the room. The furniture and lamps was nicked, chipped, and scarred. The linen and curtains were torn. A sheet so small it could not be tucked in was on the bed. I had to call for additional linen and make the bed myself. The staff when I checked in seemed inexperienced and rude. I waited 45 min at the desk with little or not explanation of what was going on. The parking garage is so tight and close you could barely turn the corners without denting your car. No weather stripping under the door made the room very cold and the heat worked poorly. The fan for the bathroom had a loud pitch rattle every time you turned it on. The manager was very apologetic the next day and offered VIP services.

The room was spectaculiar. Winter or summer you will be pleased. The jacuzzi was so relaxing. There is nothing like waking up to a sunrise next to the Atlantic ocean.

Right on the beach with a nice balcony overlooking the boardwalk. I was charged by clarion, which hasn't been resolved yet. Enjoyable stay, near the south end of Virginia beach. It was very peaceful and quiet because it was after the busy tourist season.

Lost my resvation but said they would take of it. Ended up trying to charge me over double for my stay. Still fighting the charge!!!

The location was great on the beach. All rooms smoking. Dirty. Needs updating. Staff unfriendly. The views of the beach are great. This is a great hotel for a family vacation however this is not a hotel for a romantic getaway. Everything seemed dirty, and even with an air cleaner plugged in to remove the smell of smoke it was overwhelming. When we opened the balcony door to enjoy the view of the beach the smokers on the balconies beside us brought the smoke into our balcony and smoked us back inside.

Property & room not impressive. Our balcony and entry doors needed alignment/adjustment. Mandatory safe fee charged. Bedding & flooring was ""drab"". Verygood off season value, but would compare with competitors' rates before considering for an in-season stay. Concierge did call our room offering assistance, if needed. This was a plus."

The balcony overlooking the ocean. The toilet was in a very small closet. I had left a very nice hotel in Annapolis MD to go to the beach. I anticipated that my wonderful experience at Annapolis would be duplicated. This hotel was to be 3 stars. It was certainly not worth what we paid for our stay. The bathroom was spread out. The toilet was in a very small closet. The tub was across the entry way from the toilet. The bathroom sink was also separated from the tub and toilet. Our room was near a guest trash room and it smelled horrible each time we left and returned to our room. Although the room was to be non smoking, you could smell traces of smoke in the room. Each room had outside door entrance. I wouldn't consider this a 3 star hotel. We were harassed by the staff there to participate in an orientation for a new resort which was being built. The staff continued to call our room and attempt to get us to commit to a tour and this orientation. I would never stay at this hotel again.

The rooms were large and nice. The hotel did not have a bar in the hotel and did not seem like a resort. Great hotel. I would not call it a resort though. Unless they hid a lot of things. It has two small pools but it is on the beach. All rooms have a Great view of the ocean though. Good stay though.

The Do Not Disturb sign actually worked. I was not disturbed. Smelled cigarette smoke while out in the hallway (which was outside). The staff of the hotel were friendly and courteous. The view from the room was amazing and the room was clean. Overall, I would definitely recommends a stay at here.

room was great. parking deck needs remodling. you have to have a compact car to get in or out.

I love the view of the ocean. Checking in was inconvenient. I loved the hotel. The room didn't seem worth the price, but the location easily was. You could open the balcony door just to listen to the waves on the beach. The only drawback was how difficult the parking garage was.

The location. Not getting the floor I wanted and having to wait all day for our room. Had to wait until after 5pm for our room but was told we had to check out by 10am! Specifically asked for a room on a upper floor (when we checked in around 10am) for quiet as wife is a late sleeper, got put on second floor one room from huge outside band that was playing that weekend. I am seriously disappointed.
