Pro's: Clean room, beds made daily, plenty of towels, TP, soap, lotions/shampoo, etc. AC was cold, and worked great. Coffee maker/Iron/Iron board in room. Cable TV including HBO. Cereal/Waffles offered at breakfast. Con's: Pool was closed, never disclosed in my reservation anywhere. Pool was filthy, should have been clean and open. They knew the pool was closed, it should have shown on travel website. If I knew I was going to pay $ + tax/fees a night, and not be able to swim, I'd have stayed elsewhere. They should have offered the room for less on travel website, when they knew the pool was closed. Upon registration, they tried to give me the cheapest room, even though they could clearly see I reserved the most expensive. After being sent to the cheaper room, I called frontdesk and was issued new keys to a new room. This 2nd room was still wrong, but I decided it would work for me. Was woken up at 8am each morning by housekeeping, there were no do not disturb signs anywhere, so I guess the maids didn't know they should not be knocking, though I wished I didn't have to be woken so early. After we got into the room, and settled in, my wife was putting the baby to sleep, when the in room phone rang. It was a manager from the hotel, saying the previous guest that stayed in this room said the door lock would stick with the key, asked me if he could send someone over to check out the doorlock situation. I told him No, we are putting are baby to sleep right now, it'll have to wait till tomorrow. Geez, shouldn't they have figured this out on their own, instead of inconveniencing the guests?

The pool was absolutely filthy. We could not even swim in it, which was very disappointing for the kids. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all -- with a huge amount of bugs and leaves floating in it. Our room was somewhat grungy, the carpeting was worn and dirty, and our bathtub was just awful. We would never stay here again -- not even for one night!!!!! Overall, the room upkeep was poor and the surrounding neighborhood was kind of shady. An extremely dismal family value, to say the very least!!!!

The whole area was noisy due to the Republic of Texas motorcycle rally. The motel was very accommodating to our needs since we were not riding a motorcycle.

Black mold around shower seams. There was a gathering of construction workers outside, about 2 doors down drinking beer (6-7 workers). I requested a smoking room I was given a non-smoking room. I was too tired and had to be up early to care. As is common in a hotel like this the signal quality of the TV was poor and the Internet required a log on screen that was not PDA compatible. When I got up in the morning I made coffee (weak hotel 4 cup machine) I discovered the mold in the shower, and went to get some breakfast. I managed to have some breakfast, the breakfast bar is separated on either side of the front desk so it took a while to realize I had a choice beyond a waffle or cereal. The smell of roofing tar from the hotel construction added to the breakfast in ways I can not describe.

My family and I were visting family in Austin and stayed at the hotel. The room was adequate. The major problem was thinability to open the door with the electonric key. When it was relatred to the staff, they said that it would have to wait until the beginning of the week. The food was a Continental Buffet, which was adequate. The area was quite cramped due to the number of guests there at the time. Either more tables o a better structure would have lessened the number of people standing around trying to eat their meals or drink their coffees.

So upon checking in one of the rooms we got had a soaking wet carpet near the bathroom and the bathroom tile floor was very sticky in some parts and very slick in others. The carpeting was wet from the bathroom door into the room about 1/2 way. The other room we got was missing electric plates on the outlets and the room entry doorway was falling apart. I would never stay here again. The only substitution they could offer us was to move to a smoking room.

I got what I paid for. I was in Austin picking up my daughter. It was close to the airport. Breakfast was awsome. We made waffles in the shape of TX. Rooms were a little old but not dirty. Recommended if your only staying for a night and just sleeping and leaving in the morning.

Even though I had read some negetaive reviews I gave it a chance since I got I better price on my flight. I pulled in and circled the lot and got out of there. I can only expect the inside is no better than the outside. Only book this place if it saves enough coin to apply somewhere else. (ROUGH)

This hotel is not close to the downtown area for walking but only a short car ride away. It isnt the best part of town but if your not traveling alone or in and out during the daylight it is fine. Dennys is next door so it is a convient place ot eat, service at both was great! For the price it is an excellent value!

The room was clean. We couldn't swim because the pool was very filthy and the staff was rude to my kids when we were not around. Overall it was okay, we would probably not go back because upon arrival the staff didn't give us info us about anything, such as breakfast time, check out, other services, etc. Then the next morning my kids, 16yrs and 13yrs. went to get some cereal at 9:20 and when they asked for bowls or a waffle they were rudely told that breakfast was over at 9:00. When the kids came to the room to tell us, I went to ask for a bowl and was given one and milk without any trouble and no one denied me as an adult or even mentioned that there was a breakfast time. Another thing is that the pool was very filthy, dirt, leaves and grunge all at the bottom of the pool, extremely uninviting! I wish I could post the pictures I took. The kids were so disappointed! These two experience are the reasons we would not recommend the hotel and will not return.

Modest to say the least but more than adequate for the price. Clean rooms, very helpful staff, filling breakfast, free USA Today. Handy to downtown Austin. If you just want a place to stay that's convenient to Austin activities, this is fine. If you want fancy amenities, you have to pay for them.

Front desk staff not very friendly but no displays of utter incompetence. Noisy area outside but my room quiet inside. Room was clean. Heavy smell of motel cleanser/ deodorizer greeted me upon entering room (and my clothes smelled of it when I got home) but after being in the room for a few minutes I didn't notice it anymore. Fairly good breakfast included if you get up before 9 am. All in all a bargain at 46 per weeknight.

Clean, functional, inexpensive. This is a good hotel to stay at if you are looking for a clean, basic, no frills room.

overall for the price it was a good hotel. The receptacle did not work in the bathroom area so I had to move the coffee pot elsewhere. They have a Denny's in the same parking lot, downtown is five mile driving distance.

The problem with being a traveler is that so much is unknown. If we had known that the Baymont Inn is literally surrounded by more satisfactory, better-looking hotels for less or same money, we would have stayed at them. The Baymont is not all bad; the rooms are well-equipped and clean, and the front desk staff can't be beat. There are close to a dozen hotels on the same stretch in Austin. Stay in one of them--they have interior entrances, and look a bit more put-together than this older Baymont. Also, if you need to work on their wireless connection, it is SLOW and pretty sporadic. We didn't get good service at all. A little thing, but not a place for the wired traveler.
