Was just passing through on the way to Omaha so checked in late, left right away in the morning. The thermostat did not do anything. I had to go to the unit under the window and manually work it there. The breakfast was very basic, just apples for fruit. The juice machine did not work well, juice was either not mixed or watery. Hotel looked nice and front desk was pleasant. It served its purpose, but thought it was a little over priced for what you got.

Sheets on bed were rough on the skin-lighting at pool was non-existent-no towels at pool-water temp was freezing -front door slammed causing children to wake thru the night- eet were rough on skin- lighting at pool was non existent- no towels at the pool- water temp in pool was freezing (could not stay in the water).

I came here for a romantic getaway with my boyfriend. We are only 19 years old and thought the Travelodge would be a great spot for a romantic getaway! It was awesome. My boyfriend and I used the pool... The room has nice furniture. The room's color scheme is sorta masculine while their sister hotel, Baymont, has that girly feel to it. Overall, my romantic experience at the Travelodge was amazing. I would like to do this again sometime soon. If we break up, I will definitely consider bringing my next boyfriend. Thank you! From, Betty...

I left a room key down at the front desk for my girlfriend, who would be joining me later in the evening. Keep in mind, when I left the key, I specified that it was my girlfriend and gave these geniuses her first and last name. They gave the key to some guy that walked up and asked if someone left a key down there for him! Thank god he was a nice older man that was just as suprised as I was when he opened the door and not someone up to no good. I ended up leaving the place and getting a room at a different hotel. I certainly wouldn't have been able to sleep there knowing our safety was possibly in jeopardy because the idiots at the desk can't even do their jobs right. I will NEVER stay there again.

Helpful staff, good continental breakfast. The swimming pool was not filled, so we couldn't use it. One of the reasons for choosing this hotel and paying more was for the pool, and it was out of order. Otherwise, the hotel was clean and the staff was helpful.

Confidence. The toilet plugged up and when informed, there was no action taken leaving us to use the lobby facility. With the weather being cold and the swimming pool was in a separate building from the one we were in, it was chilly for the kids. The rooms cards were difficult to use and didn't always work, you would have to try both cards to gain entry. Over all, I would not stay at this hotel again.

It looks nice on the outside, but inside, it's not much better than a Motel 6. Our bathroom door was on backwards and wouldn't lock (or close). The hallways smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. We had to keep getting our key re-programmed since it would stop working on our door when we left. We didn't appear to get any discounts despite the fact that our area was under construction, filled with fumes, and was covered in wet plaster (with no signs that warned you of this before you put your hands on it...like I did). Neither was it really child friendly. ...

Clean. The room was clean and the staff nice, but the bed was really, really small and beyond uncomfortable. It creaked loudly when you turned over and threatened to spill you onto the floor. TheA/C kicked on and off constantly and did nothing to cool the room. We checked out at 5 am because why bother pretending to sleep for another 2 hours?

The owner went the extra step to provide an emergency tailoring need. Great staff, warm and friendly. Sincerely concerned about the quality of the guest's stay. They responded to every inquiry and request with a smile and accurate information. I will use this hotel the next time I'm in Des Moines.

I'm actually typing this review while staying in a room at the Baymont Inn on 14th Street. I'm sitting here looking at how beautiful the room is and appreciating the excellent value this hotel gives me. The price is amazing considering every night's stay include free hot breakfast, indoor pool/hot tub, fitness room, and in-room appliances like refrigerators and microwaves. The hotel can be seen from Interstate 80 and is so close to the freeway that all I need to do is drive straight onto the on-ramp. The gas station next door provides really cheap gas, too. I am glad I chose this hotel. Everyone should reserve at this hotel. The rooms are beautiful!

I stayed at this hotel mostly because almost everything else was booked. The location is not too far from downtown but it's in an industrial area. The nearby restaurant is closed. The nearest restaurants are mostly fast food. The hotel itself is quite old. The room smelled bad. The rest of the hotel was in need of repair. The only area that was decent was the checkin/breakfast area. They offer wireless but I had problems staying connected. It dropped me at least once a minute. The staff was very nice but they cannot make up the condition of the hotel itself.

I like this hotel. It's beautiful on the inside and outs. If miss toots thinks it's a great place, then it's a great place. I give it 5 stars.

The only problem was with the front desk people. They were very nice but could never find our reservations even with the numbers. Took about 1/2 to check in.Told one of my relatives that I wasn't there and that my brother had checked out.But the room was great, location perfect for me and I would stay there again.

The hotel was rundown, the bed was held up by boards. It was very uncomfortable. The mattress was lumpy. I wouldn't even take a shower in their bathroom.

I liked how nice the bed was. It was like sleeping on a big pillow and I woke up refreshed. There was not anything I didn't like. It was a great experience. The hotel was a great place to stay. Nice and quiet and a chance to just relax. The staff was friendly and helped answer any questions that I had.
