The entrance and lobby of this hotel was very nice. We also enjoyed the breakfast nook in the morning. The room, however, was freezing. The window clouded over and the bathroom was unclean with peeling grout and old fixtures. Now, the service was terrific--especially the night manager. He was very friendly and helpful.

Ample free parking. Not enough seating space during breakfast time. Reasonable hotel.Useful if you are driving as ample free parking. Rooms were spacious and clean. Weekend breakfast is more elaborate than weekday which was overall decent.

When I arrived I was greeted with a sign that pool is out of service since December. I made my reservation in Jan and was not told of this and the web site still says that they have a pool. This was one of the reasons I picked this hotel because my family was coming to visit me while on my business trip. The staff was great and went above and beyond. The bathroom and some of the fixtures needed some repair. A towel rack kept falling off the wall. Quietest hotel I ever stayed in. The staff did not know the area well for shuttle service but was able to navigate them. Breakfast is ok but the BK within walking distance helped. Would stay again and could be a 4 star hotel with a little TLC. Beds were more comfortable then my own.

I went to Iowa on a whim to check out the University. I didn't really have any high expectations for the hotel, but I was thrilled to find out there was a free shuttle service to anywhere within five miles. They also had a hardy breakfast, free internet, and cable---which is a plus. Didn't visit the pool, but I used the 24 hour business center and it was great. Not too crowded, friendly staff, although the night crew is a little rough around the edges... (one guy was a little brisk when I called the front desk, but it didn't ruin my day or even the moment really.) For convenience factor, I'd stay there again. No questions.

Clean, friendly and had a good breakfast. Nothing. Good reasonable hotel.

We rented this room for three nights during the week because one of us was having surgery at the University of Iowa hospital. It was a great place to stay and with the price we paid, we got a lot more than we thought! The service was wonderful, we took full advantage of their; computer/printer/fax machines for public use, their safety deposit boxes and the shuttle services to and from the hosptial. The rooms were really nice, we rented a room with two queen beds. The rooms were very clean, the only thing I didn't like was the bathroom had some parts of the wall that were very rough looking. But otherwise a very clean, nice place to stay. The breakfast was awesome! Every morning they had a new hot breakfast item, besides the waffle maker and a full spread of bagels, toast and donuts. This made it nice because since we were there three days we ate three different breakfasts; biscuits and gravy, bacon and eggs, french toast. Then between the hours of 5-7 they had a light supper, like chili. This is definately a nice place to stay if you had to be in town for a few days. We weren't sure how long we would need to stay in Iowa City but we were prepared to stay for up to a week and this would have been the perfect place to be!

1) Nonsmoking room on a smoking floor...you have to be joking!2) Bathroom and vanity area barely has room for one small child, let alone adults.3) For what I paid, expected something decent. This hotel was not close.

Friendly staff, nice breakfast. It was clean, but not sparkling clean-a bit shabby in some places. It was a pleasant experience to stay here. It was just what I expected it would be. Clean and friendly and provided all our needs.

This hotel was perfect for our stay! My husband wanted a king size bed but we needed another bed for the kids. The hotel staff booked us in a room with a king size bed and a pull-out sofa bed. It was perfect. The room was very neat and clean and the kids really enjoyed the pool. The shuttle service was a great addition and the staff was also extremely nice. They were willing to answer all of our questions and help with whatever we needed. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Able to have my dog in my room with me. The price they charge for keeping a dog in your room. I could have boarded him cheaper at home. Overall the room was clean. The cost of the hotel and the amenities do not match. The fact that they charge you 25.00 to keep a dog in the room is overpriced. The breakfast was okay. The swimming pool is small, but warm.

This was a very nice hotel with very friendly employees. The only drawback is that they do not have a hot tub.

The continental breakfast was great and the front desk service was great. The pillows were flat, flat, flat! It would be nice if these hotels would have much nicer bedding and pillows.

Rooms were very clean and the staffwas very friendly. Very nice hotel. Slightly out of the way. Located on a major street, close to the interstate. Very hard to make a left turn out onto the main street during heavy traffic. Accommodation wasvery nice.

Nice pool, comfortable room andgreat breakfast. We were very pleased with our one-night stay. The pool was nice-sized and clean for our grand-children to enjoy with us. The great breakfast was far more than expected, really a plus.

The business center, wireless Internet. Not a good value. Our room was a smoking room and it smelled awful. When are more hotels going smoke-free? The location was close to the U of I hospital.

Staff helpful, rooms clean, indoor pool nice and near workout room. Good location and good for families. Staff tried to help with places to eat but did not know about local restaurants. The staff on duty when we arrived was helpful, but not very knowledgeable about the local places to eat. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was good, with a variety to choose from. The indoor pool area was big and fun for the kids and near the workout room.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nicely appointed and clean. It's directly behind a Conoco Gas Station, which makes for a quick turn off the road! My sister and I felt very comfortable and safe in the Baymont Hotel. It's nicely located, readily accessible from I-80 as well as shopping and emergency services. The staff was helpfull in every respect. The lobby was very welcoming. The pool was perfect. The morning feast was tasty and well presented.

Good breakfast; new facility Elevator a bit slow and noisy; parts of surrounding neighborhood a bit borderline Good value for price. Clean, quiet - would stay again.

My husband and son liked the waffle maker at the continental breaskfast. The hotel was a little bit hard to get to off the main road, set behind other businesses. We were only there one night and wasn't able to use the pool facility, the waffle maker in the continental breakfast was great and our room was clean.
