Bat and BallRoom was small, but nicely decoured. staff were friendly. Only issue was that the address implies that hotel is in the middle of Oxford, however it is actually about 15 miles away, hence why we spent £50 on taxis that night. Lovely location though, beautiful village, however there was nothing in it.

An attractive pub in a pleasant village. Good pub food and excellent children's menu. Friendly staff. We were surprised that there were no biscuits and that there was no hairdryer - we would have expected these to be standard items for this price of room.

This is the 4th time i have stayed here in the past year, now new owners, but little change, still very welcoming, rooms basic but very good value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful, great bar, and good restaurant. As business man traveling alone its great to be welcomed and talked to by the owners and locals which makes for a very enjoyable evening. Will always try and stay here whenever in this part of the country.

I arrived at the pub bar (which serves as a reception desk) and was pointed (not shown to) a room across the courtyard. The room was cramped. There was no light-bulb in the main fitting, and the bedside lamp didn't work, so the room was in darkness. I went back to the pub to point this out. I was offered another room. This time the lights worked, but the TV didn't. So I went back to the pub again, and was shown to a third room, where everything was in order. Each time I had to wait as the staff were also working the bar, meaning it took me over half an hour between arriving and getting into my room. Good job I'm patient , or I'd have been out of there. Good job I was the only person staying there that night, or I wouldn't have had a room. Good job I don't have access issues, as two of the rooms were up steep metal steps. I won't be back.

The staff were freindly and helpfull. Our original room was so small we couldnt actually put our luggage in it! They found us a slightly bigger one but all the rooms are small apparently. The food was quite nicely done. But the breakfast was pretty awful. We had a deal on late rooms so it was reasonable value for money but we would not have liked to pay full price.

Wi Fi access from bedroom was poor. Even down in the bar you had to be near the "box" to get a decent link. For up to 65 quid it's a decent overnight stop.

Sloping ceiling made sitting up in bed impossible. Toilet seat wouldn't stay up! Windows very dirty. Otherwise, a lovely place to stay with comfortable bed, great food and good service.

The b&b was very hard to find. There are no sign-posts to Cuddesdon until you are within a few hundred yards !! Why does this nice place have to be so poorly marked ????? Once there, we found the accommodation to be fine for us. The Boycott room was alight, but over-priced compared to other spots where we stayed in the U.K The breakfast was substantial and filling, but the amout of fat/grease used to perpare it was over the top.Over-all, our stay was good, expensive and hard to find.

Finding this hotel is not too easy, I was happy I had sat nav, made it easieir. This is a village pub with some rooms and as a pub it's fine if not a bit expensive to drink £3 a pint. I was in a double room which was not that big but adequate for 1 person, the bed was a reasonable size and comfy. It was let done terrible by the bathroom, it was in desperate need of updateing but worse of all was the shower, it was dirty, old and mould around the outside to such an extent I could bring myself to have one. The food was ok but overpriced for a village pub and the breakfast was ok

I was able to order food when I arrived just before 9.30pm and it was excellent. This pub/hotel serves both business people needing somewhere comfortable and hospitable to stay in the Oxford area and the pub also caters for locals. I have often noticed people alone in the bar maybe doing some work. As a woman, I have found it easy to be here.

Pub is excellent: upmarket appearance, girls were friendy , food was very good and Room was small but attractive. BUT .... Carpark was full and so had to park on road about 50 yards away; Spiral Staircase up to the room felt unsafe when carrying bags; Bathroom had not been cleaned properly - loo had stains, shower had ingrained dirt and hairs in tray; Shower was old and temperamental - went hot and cold; Breakfast was ok (albeit they didn't have brown bread or sausages ) but Lady who served it was grumpy and rude. It's a shame because potentially it could be a great find. Brea

Hotel was fine , though the room was very cramped. Breakfast was self service apart from fry up, so not a lot to say there. The pot of tea at 8.30 was cold and stewed, another was made at my request, but I had to go up to fetch it.When we left I was presented with a bill for £65 which I questioned, as Laterooms quoted £56 and the paperwork confirmed that. Laterooms had made a mistake by putting down there was only 1 guest, but I rang them back and had that sorted out.Bat & Ball said that was the reason for the bill being higher and Laterooms should have sorted it out, but I have checked price for 2 on your site and it IS £56 NOT £65 (full rate). I paid £56 so that was OK, but felt a little annoyed, and was glad that I had all the paperwork with me.

The Bat and Ball was an unexpected delight. Set in a a beautiful location it offered exceptional value for money and was perfectly placed for exploring the local coutryside as well as visiting Oxford. Unfortunately we didn't get an opportunity to drink in the pub, however it looked like a place where we could happily drank away the evening. Cricket lovers will eat up all the memorabilia and those with creative bones will pick up a few ideas like such as the wicket towel rails. The full English breakfast included in the price was delicious and kept me going well into the day.

Very friendly and courtious staff at check in and breakfast. Room a little cramped, but adequate for sleeping and was clean and the bathroom was all in good working order. Would not recommend for a longer stay if you have a lot of luggage as there was bearly enough room for overnight luggage (I stayed in Hobbs which is a double en-suite room). The pub is very interesting with the cricket theme and the free WIFI was excellent for a quiet pint whilst checking email. Overall rating would be 7 out of 10.
