If all you plan on doing at the Cape is getting some sun, this is the perfect place for those who are on a budget. We just needed a place to crash for the night and the price was right. The tub and toilet were clean and so were the sheets. Given the room right above the lobby, it was equipped with a working stove and fridge. Had we planned on staying longer, this would have been a wonderful way to save on dining expenses. There was even a pool on premises that was running and looked well-kept. When so many of the Cape's motels and hotels are asking outrageous prices during the summer months (especially a July 4th weekend), it's good to know there's a place like Barnacle available. It's no-frills accommodations, but given the location, the rate is great for a room that more than adequately serves its purpose.

We had a fine stay at the motel, but after checking out we realized we had been bitten about 30++ times all over. The doctor identified these as bedbug bites. The manager would not give us a refund or admit to having bedbug problems, so we contacted Orbitz, the Dennis Chamber of Commerce, and the Dennis Health Department, and the motel is currently under investigation by the Dept of Public Health. Reading online reviews, it appears that this place has had longstanding bedbug problems which they have apparently never dealt with.

The rooms were decent and large for the price one is paying. The bathroom doesn't have a lock. That was the major drawback. Otherwise it was a good deal for the price you pay.

the barnacle motel was nice. it serve a purpose. we slept there and we left early in am. the desk clerk(probably the owner) was very nice and helpful. he recommended a place for breakfast where the locals go and it was very good. the bed was very hard. the fact that i could sleep on anything didn't upset my sleep at all. the only negative was the bathroom sink was in the bedroom. other than that, it was a pleasent experience.

The Barnacle was reasonably priced and the room was clean. However, the staff was not very friendly, the room had cinderblock walls and the window faced a wall. We chose not to spend the night. It's not a room that you want to spend any waking moments in, but maybe if you just needed a room at a cheap price it could do for a night.
