Enjoyed the very hip modern ambiance, very different. Beautiful view from top floor with seats and small soaking top outside. Location was OK, walked several blocks to La Rambla down questionable old seedy streets. No washcloths in room, but towels and sheets were top grade. Great coffee machine in room. Friendly staff.

This is certainly a top-notch hotel with comfortable, relaxing rooms. The neighborhood leading to and around Las Ramblas. It is extremely modern, clean, comfortable and sophisticated. The staff was excellent, the services are really excellent.

We had just come off a 16 day transatlantic cruise that was a bit disappointing. Thank heavens the Barcelo Raval was waiting for us. Our 3 day stay in Barcelona was the highlight of our trip and that was due largely in part to this hotel. The decor is so unique - a mixture of art deco, Ikea and James Bond. The service was fantastic - everyone was dedicated to making us comfortable and stress free. Our desk clerk and porter gave us all the information about tours, sight seeing and location of things to do. In addition, the room had complimentary grooming supplies (dental kits, razor and shaving gel in addition to the basics), an espresso machine and fully stocked mini bar and huge safe. We even had complimentary WI-FI. The location is superb-on a beautiful boulevard lined with restaurants, shops and outdoor cafes, a 10 minute walk away from Las Ramblas. And the roof top terrace with a heated pool and 360 degree view of the city is not to be missed. We couldn't have been happier. Hopefully we will be able to bring our adult children back to Barcelona next year to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. And we will be sure to stay at the Barcelo Raval because it was one of those hotels that exceeded our expectations - a true rarity in these days.

Stayed at this place for one night after a cruise. The Hotel is perfect and the decor is amazing for a boutique hotel. However as mentioned by others the area is a little to be desired, perfect if you like the "ladies of the night" who are just around the corner.

Everything was nice, clean and location was close to Las Ramblas. The area right behind was a bit shabby. Hotel was very clean with nice rooms. Location was good for walking around, but a few streets behind the hotel were a bit questionable, but you could easily stick too more main streets to walk.

Long weekedHotel was excellant from the start to finish. The hotel rooms are clean, frunky and value for money.Short walk to the main bar, shop, restaurant area.I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

one night stay in April 2009We stayed at the hotel for one night only before embarking on a cruise holiday. the service and room was excellent . . very clean, modern hotel. We didn't eat at the hotel but the restaurant looked very nice.The only downside was we found the area at night time rather dubious. If venturing out at night it would be advisable to turn right out of the hotel and then right again to lead you to La Rambla and it is then only 5 minute walk. The hotel looked after our luggage, after check out time at no extra cost. Would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Great hotel, OK location, would love to stay again.Excellent, funky hotel. Read all reviews about it before booking. Was a little dubious about the location, but we loved it. Actually, there are some great kebab places, cafes, restuarants and a couple of bars right on the square outside which means you dont need to stray too far at night. It is a largely migrant area which we found, makes it all the more interesting and better value for money. However, if you are planning on walking around late at night (ie clubbing on the Ramblas and then walking home), and especially if you are women travelling without male company, I might give a little more thought to location. Or just get a taxi back. With a baby, we didn't stray too far from Raval at night but walked everywhere in the day. The location is about a 6 min walk to Ramblas and 10min to Placa Catalunya. V. convenient. The hotel is cool. The rooftop is definitely woth seeing and provided the best views of Barcelona and the best photos (actually saw the sunrise as we were jet lagged)! The rooms themselves are clean, comfortable and have a lot of thought given to design details (sometimes at the expense of practicality, like the curved edges to all the tables, which means thing often slide off). The rooms aren't huge but are not pokey either. The Nespresso machines in each room are a godsend (especially when you're awake at 4 in the morning). The smoked sreen showers didn't bother us as we are a couple with a baby but might not be great for friends travelling together...The restaurant looked good but we didn't eat there. They have DJs playing some nights (which we didn't manage to get to, but were also relieved that we couldn't hear a thing from our room). We requested a quiet room, so were happy to be on the back side facing an empty office building, but it would be a lot more interesting to have a view onto the square (which has markets and which isn't actually loud at all).We would stay here again. amazing hotel. very stylish, spotlessly clean, excellent staff. location is good, around 5 mins walk from la rambla, 10 from placa de catalunya, 10 from harbour. roof terrace is fantastic, esp at night. was january during our stay, so didn't try the rooftop hot-tub, but looked awesome. can't think of a single negative comment to make about the place, except perhaps to say that the restaurant might be a bit overpriced, although the standard of food we tried was very high. would def reccommend the place to friends and will def be returning myself.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hotel is new and very ultra modern, but we thought it to be a bit clinical, and more designed to be functional and suitable for business guests. The dining area did not seem inviting, but we did not try the food and could not comment. The bedroom was clean and comfortable in an open plan style, and very modern in design. The Hotel is well situated for La Rambla and the Port area.
