the staff at this hotel is very accommodating. the concierge went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable. his recommendations were excellent.

The Barcelo Palma Real Hotel was very confortable, the room very clean, the bathroom with many ammenities, like shampoo, bath gel, coditioner dispensers, bathrobe. The staff very friendly, at the bar and in the dinnig-room also.The breakfast was very good and abundant, with something new added every morning. The neighborhood is not bad. It is located about 20 minutes walk from downtown, and 1 block from the main city park in the city.They have also a desk for booking tours that is friendly and knowledgefull.There are a few good restaurants a short ride away.

The hotel reeked of smoke and we were put in smoking rooms even though we had 2 infants with us. The beds were horrible. The general manager lied to us and told us that the rooms we had were non smoking, even though there were ash trays and matches all over the place. Horrible hotel.

Easy to find. No shuttle after 10:00 PM. Strange location, nothing is nearby. Beds are concave.

Staff was exceptional. Bags were grabbed quickly, good concierge and staff and bartender. Bed was soft, room near front desk not soundproofed, casino noise on Saturday night. The Barcelo Palma real has an exceptional staff from the front desk to the bartender to the concierge. Our bags were swooped up upon arrival. The concierge was aware of our short stay and presented us with a wide variety of excursions. The food at breakfast was a good variety although nothing stood out. The beds were soft and the room was not soundproof near the front desk and casino entrance. However, the performance of the staff would make us want to return here again.

The location to the hotel was close to downtown, but was not loud and discomforting. The hotel does not have a pool, but you can go to the other Barcelo to use theirs.

Amazing breakfast buffet and excellent food! One of the valets tried to talk me into getting a cab, when it was a quick walk. Excellent service with one exception, good location, good and clean rooms. Courteous staff. I would stay there agian for the price.

Shuttle to/from airport; friendly people; nice bar and lounge and very comfortable rooms. They overlooked picking us up from a small airport nearby, after much coordination with staff. Cheerful, clean, spacious remodeled rooms with wonderful bath and comfortable beds. Extremely responsive and friendly staff - as is always the case in Costa Rica. Not in the city center, but is fine for airport access - at a terrific price.
