we have great vacations. the only rooms facing the water are the "honeymoon" ones, that was the only disappointment, the gym is very, very old and the room service very poor. the restaurants, people in general and services very good, and we are ready to come back in a. heart beat. again, great vacations, the beach, the water, the landscapes unbeatable

Friendly people and causal atmosphere. The food was not nearly as good as H10. This would be a good resort for a younger family on a budget because it was a lot cheaper than the one we spent 12 days at.

It needs a better service at the front desk (more personal and better trained). This hotel really needs to put throughout a new and up to date communication system(phone ,Internet,WiFi)It is embarrassingly low tec what they have now in place. The rest is a very nice ressort. Have fun there.

It may have a 3-4star rating but for us it seemed like a 5 star holiday. The grounds were immaculate and beautiful. Our accomodations were perfectly cleaned every day. The beach and pool were beyond terrific. There was a variety of food available at the buffet and the other restaurants gave even more options. The servers and employees couldn't be more friendly. Just remember it is there country and their culture. If you treat them with respect,courtesy and friendliness, they are only too happy to give you the same. We were fortunate to have 2 weeks there in March 2009. Will we return? As soon as possible!

The people at Ocean Bavaro were very pleasant and always friendly, but that isn't all that makes a vacation memorable.Right at check-in there was a swarm of unorganization. It took me ONE hour to finally get checked in and that being only after I got a little obnoxious with the front desk. There was no system for checking in. Everyone swarmed the reception. People that had been there and were waiting patiently got passed over by people that were just coming off the bus and were rude and pushy (these got checked-in rather quickly). After an hour and my own "rudeness" I was told that I would get a poolside room to compensate for the delay. I received a room near the entrance of the hotel; that being NO WHERE near the pool. The rooms were clean and cool, BUT there is a definite problem with housekeeping! It's done way too late in the afternoon and there was ALWAYS a shortage of towels (meaning there were none in the room). I had to complain twice to the front desk.The only restaurant worth going to was the Italian Buffet and the Japanese which incidentally need reservations. You have to get up at 6:30am to GET in line to make reservations (they start taking reservations at 7am.) and still it is not a guarantee that you will be able to get a reservation.All in all the vacation was a pleasant one, due to good company and a bright outlook on the situation.Happy Vacationing Everyone.

My wife and myself came here to relax in the middle of her pregnancy, and relax we did. Punta Cana is very quiet with not a whole lot to do, so if you are looking for rest and peace and quiet, this is definitly the place. The Service was excellent, and I love the fact that many of them remembered my name. The food on the other hand, Terrible, if I never had to eat in the D.R. it would be way too soon! There was one jerk in the coffee shop, but outside of that really good experience. Not as good as Jamaica by far, but pretty cool destiniation.

my boyfiriend and i had the best time at this resort. We had traveled to other resorts and i must say this time was for the most part the best one. The staff was very nice and definetly the entertainment was just great. I would definetly go back and recommend this resort to anyone thats ready to have a great time. The night club was very good and the staff would definetly make sure everybody is having a good time. Dont think about it, just go and you wont have no regrets.

This was the worst Hotel experience. The food was not good at all and there is no variety of food available. The facility are not impressive need improvement. The rooms are very small and the beds are not sturdy..dont be surprise if your bed rolls while you sleep. The staff is very friendly.

It was good because we made the best of it and met a lot of nice people. Some of the bartenders loved us because we tipped them at the beginning, but a majority of the staff was rude and disrespectful. They spoke behind our backs in spanish, but we understood perfectly because we are all fluent in italian.

The staff was wonderful, they were helpful when our room became flooded during the stay. Our room flooded, we got sick from the hamburger stand on site and had vomiting and diarrhea for 2 days. The staff was wonderful, however, the food was alll inclusive, but did not meet standards for cleanliness. The workers should be trained how to wash hands and cooking utensils regularily for sanitaty reasons. Also, they keep cheese and other items out in hot weather without ice or proper cooling measures. Scuba diving was great, had good activities available for the price.

I am in favor very contented of having been in the Hotel Montecar it Santiago. Agradesco by the received affection and desire congratulations to the people of the reception, of the cleaning in the rooms and to which they prepared the breakfast. All were very atenciosos towards us.

First 3 days went as expected. Beaches are exciting, service was good, food is average, room needed maintenance. The rest 2 days (Sat and Sun) were very disappointing. Hotel management allowed locals in. Nice people, but a lot of them (about a 100 of them). We had to wait for 20 mins to get seated for meals, to get plates, and wait for food to come. Shows (after the 8.30 pm kids show and before the 10 pm show) were performed by locals and had inappropriate sexual character (reminded me cheap porno). When locals left, everything came back to normal.

We were pleasantly surprised when we got to our room at Barcelo Dominican Beach. The Honeymoon Suite was absolutely gorgeous, it was even prettier then the pics we saw. There aren't many rooms at this hotel that are ocean front, but the honeymoon suites are. The grounds were well kept and beautiful. The beach was not crowded. We got a complimentary romantic breakfast in the room and dinner on the beach that came with out room. If you don't get the honeymoon suite it is worth upgrading to the Elite club. The restaurants were pretty good, the buffets were average. I would definatly recommend this place to a friend.

The Hotel I felt wonderful to visit the Dominican Republic or rather Bavaro. The location is unbeatable, next to the cutest palay in the area and several large hotels that give a lot of life to the area. The atmosphere is very good in that area day and night. comodísimo for an airport shuttle. I went with my son and reserve a double room, and gave us a fairly large room with a bed and a individual.Y the bathroom was huge, and the shower worked wonderfully, a lot of pressure and hot water. Everything was very clean and arregladito, new bedspreads, linens and beautifully clean towels changed daily. The heating works very well. At the reception were very kind and attempted to speak Spanish and explain everything that we asked about Bavaro, Dominican Republic. The type continental buffet breakfast is not bad, put cheese, salami, ham very well, In short, I think the hotel is fine for its category and price. When I think back to Santo Dominigo return to the Barcelo Dominican Beach

This trip was a beautiful experience. This was mine and my girlfriends first time to the Dominican Republic. The hotel was not very big which added to the comfortable feel of it, but a weeks stay there is definitely enough. Although the hotel is all-inclusive, you might want to consider do some excursions. however, if you are just there to relax and are fine with just laying on the beautiful beach, then everything will be fine. The main excursion that a lot of people recommend is Soana Island. I dont recommend this unless you just cannot get enough of a beach. My girlfriend and I had a really relaxing day there, however we would rather have done something more exciting. There were a lot of restaurants at the hotel so there was a large variety, however we were dissapointed that there was not authentic Dominican food. It seems like there are a lot of cons so far, but the pros outweigh them. For instance, the staff was always so nice and they made you feel like they were really there to please you. The drinks were excellent and they did not hold back on the hard liquor. The waether was perfect every single day! Despite the rain for 5 min. at a time each day, the weather could not have been better. If you go on an excursion, bring money for gifts because all prices outside of the hotel are definitely negotiable. I would recommend this hotel for Families and couples alike, especially for the money.

My trip to the Dominican Republic was a gift to my mother. Initially much feared by the kind of hotel where I was going to stay (and we all know the kind of slums that exist). But Barcelo Dominican Beach pleasantly surprised us, it is nice, warm, muuyyyyy muyyyy clean, wonderful beds, bath amnplio, too bright and clean .... The staff, from the receptionist who gave us the chekc in, until the woman who gave us breakfast were a few charms. The truth is that I can say nothing bad in this hotel, and I commend it to you all that you will go to the Dominican Republic, whether family or go with romantic getaway. I certainly repeat ... greetings!

Boy is it hot and humid here, wear very light clothing when you travel because the airport, the hotel lobby, and the main buffet, are open air. Many things are in need of repair our room lock broke, the safe had to be repaired, we did not have one drop of hot water, and only one ac was functioning in our two room suite. The food is strange and not very good. Don't count on the kids club it is a sad little playground without any kids or staff. The grounds and the beach are beautiful. Overall go there if you are a couple on a low budget and dont love food and arent picky.

well it was me and my husband's first time in d.r and it wont be the last..the resort is clean, beautiful and staff is the best. so helpful with everything u need and they speak english which was helpful. so overall we loved it. definitley going back there. you must have the honeymoon suite beyond beautiful.
