Description:
NEW: From March 15th each room has its own en-suite bathroom. Reviews refer before this change. Baldassini at the Marble Foot (Pantheon) is located in the best area of Rome, right in the heart of the historic centre. It is at a few steps from the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Piazza Venezia. The most famous attractions of Rome such as the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain are at a 15 minutes walk. The Vatican, the Coloseum and Trastevere districts are at a 15-20 minutes walk. The shopping area is at a few steps as well, from via del Corso to Via dei Condotti. If you stay at Baldassini at the Marble Foot you can visit the centre of Rome on foot. The apartment is located at the 2nd floor of an old Palazzo with an easy staircase (we carry up your luggage) and consists of 2 bedrooms (1 double room with a double bed - up to 2 people - and 1 larger room - up to 3 people), hard wooden floors, high beamed and decorated ceilings, a well equipped kitchen and nice private bathrooms. It is provided with all facilities to make you feel like at home: heating and air conditioning, Tv, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, equipped kitchen, etc. Breakfast can be consumed in a bar down in the street. At a 5 minutes walk there are two supermarkets with all that you need.Towels and linens are provided.
Transportation:
We are in the historic centre of Rome. It is well served by transport. If you arrive by car, take any exit to the centre. If you arrive by airplane from Fiumicino airport, take a direct train to Termini station or from Ciampino airport a Terravision or Sit shuttle bus. From Termini train station, from Piazza dei Cinquecento, take the bus #64 or, on the left side (in via Giolitti) take the bus #70 until Plebiscito stop (it is the 1st stop after Piazza Venezia - ask the bus driver), then walk on the first street on your right (via della Gatta) and continue to piazza del Collegio Romano, then turn on your left until via del Piè di Marmo (there is a big marble foot and a bookshop at the corner of the building). The front door is in via di Santo Stefano del Cacco #31. The apartment is situated at the second floor, # 6, with an easy staircase (we curry up your luggage).Alternatively take a taxi from Termini train station (5-8 euros) or from the airport (fixed rates: 40 euros from Fiumicino airport and 30 euros from Ciampino airport, baggage included).

Great Location for a Long Weekend StayThe flat, which has two ensuite bedrooms, is in an ideal location for all major tourist sites. By Rome standards, it's quiet, and the room at the rear is good for light sleepers. Francesco Carfa who operates the flat and a nearby B&B, knows lots of great restaurants and drinking spots in the surrounding area where you won't get ripped off - which is a real bonus. Altogether a good place to stay.

We stayed in room 1 as a couple for 3 nights and were fortunate enough that we were the only people using the apartment. I would have felt quite uncomfortable sharing with other people. Basically the apartment has 2 lockable bedrooms, with a shared kitchen and bathroom, all contained within the same apartment. The location could not have been better, right next to the Pantheon and within walking distance of all major tourist attractions. It is clean, basic accomodation, but would probably be more suitable for a larger group rather than a single couple. We would probably stay there again if we rented both rooms. We didn't get to meet Francesco, but his wife Isabella seemed very nice and gave us a map with locations of all the tourist spots, aswell as insider advice on the best places to visit, eat and shop.

We had a really lovely time, the apartment was such a good location and the owner was really helpful, providing us with a map and tips on what to see and do.

Fantastic location. Great Rome information and restaurant recommendations. A nice friendly welcome. Room was big and comfortable. Breakfast food was suitable but ran low (e.g. butter, spreads, yoghurt) after a few days. The kitchen was well equipped (except a tea towel to dry small quantities of dishes not put in the dishwasher).

You couldn't get a better location in Rome to stay than at Baldassini at the Marble foot, just meters to the Pantheon and only minutes to Trevi Fountain, Tevere and other sights. A comfortable place to spend your time in Rome.

Really enjoyed our stay. Francesco was great to deal with, and has good English. The share bathroom worked okay. Bit hard to find originally (but no different to any of the places in Rome probably) and great locality right in the middle of Rome just a few minutes from the Parthenon.

We loved our stay at the Baldassini. The location was perfect! We were in walking distance to all the main attractions of Rome. The room was clean & comfortable and had a nice feel to the place. The owner was very friendly and helped us out at the beginning with a map and showed us how to get to places. Highly recommend this apartment for couples, families & groups of friends that are looking for a main base to enjoy the city. Would stay here again if we return to Rome.

This hotel's main advantage is its location - absolutely brilliant! Out of two properties of same owner, ours was not really a typical B&B, just a flat in a residential house. Nevertheless, it was quite a pleasant place, tastefully furnished and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped ; cooking our own meal in the evening was very handy. Sharing a bathroom was not a problem at all, though the bathroom would benefit from more frequent cleaning. Our room was facing a busy road, while the neighbouring room was perfectly quiet. As we live in a busy road at home in London, shutters banging and scooters running at 6am did not disturb us much but one must be ready for this if you get same room. However, overall impression was good, much reinforced by a very friendly and helpful host. We shall recommend it to our friends and hope to stay there again.

A fantastic B&B. Ideal location for a sight-seeing visit to Rome and great value. Comfortable & clean rooms, a very helpful and friendly host. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Rome.

This is a great apartment - sleeps 6 but 4 comfortably - better to have the whole apartment as there is a shared bathroom and kitchen. Great central location - easy to get everywhere. Francesco and Isabella are very welcoming and provided lots of useful advice beforehand via e-mail. Breakfast was very good - plenty of bread, cakes, yoghurts and fresh fruit. The apartment has all that you will need - hairdryer, soap, towels - plenty of wardrobe space in double room - not so much in the other room - could do with a chest of drawers in the second room. Caution - the apartment is up 2 steep flights of stairs so not suitable for those finding it difficult to climb stairs.

The apartment is in a great location in central Rome. The host, Francesco, was very informative and provided a nice selection of foods for a self service breakfast. Although not air conditioned, there were fans which kept the apartment cool for sleeping.

very simple, as they say right in the centre of Roma - about equidistant to the Colosseum and the Vatican, all can be done on foot. The Rome itself was as expected - very nice, a great place to rest after a day of walking.

This serviced apartment has a fantastic location and is very clean. We enjoyed stasying here, Francesco and Isabella were very helpful with providing us a map of Rome and indicating local amenities such as a supermarket, good bars and restaurants. Most of the key site of Rome are within walking distance. Excellent value for money package. We eat out and also cooked in the kitchen provided. We highly recommend staying here. They provide basic breakfast ingredients ie milk, juice, bread and cereals.

The location is fantastic set amongst all the sites of Rome. Francesco the host is a very friendly man who does very well to make you feel comfortable and even guide you through the miriade of exhibitions. The room is cosy with plenty of wardrobe space. The kitchen and toilet/shower is shared with the other ajoining room. A taxi from the ciampino airport should be 30euros, if you get an honest taxi driver, unlike us! I would definitely reccomend this accomadation if you intend to walk the sites of Rome.

Francesco and Isabella are fabulous. This apartment is away from the B&B so more a serviced apartment. Great location to get to Pantheon/Navona/Colosseum. Everywhere within walking distance (recommended a taxi to/from Termini if you need to get there; we used car service to/from airport). Had a great 4 days in Roma, partly due to where we stayed. We hired both bedrooms in apartment (each lockable) so had whole place to ourselves. Sleeps 6 but 4 comforatably. Highly recommended - gelati from Della Palma near Pantheon .. found it very late in stay. Some great restaurants nr there too.

Wow! This was a truly amazing stay at what can only be described as one of Rome's best kept secrets. Francesco and Isabella were the perfect hosts and to stay at the Marble Foot Pantheon apartment was both value for money and perfectly situated in our itinerary. I heartily recommend anyone coming to Rome for the first time or the hundreth time to stay at this beautiful two bedroom apartment. With ceiling frescoes and high beams the apartment is stylish and modern. Enjoy!

Accueil surprenant de gentillesse !!!Il me semble indispensable de revoir la disposition des sanitaires qui ne doivent pas être communs aux deux appartements, pour la cuisine américaine pas de problème.
