A pleasant enough hotel, although my experience was completely ruined by the fact that they don't accept payment by credit/debit card. This resulted in a £15 taxi journey to get cash out. Not really acceptable for any hotel business in 2009!

Great Hotel for a Bargain with free WIFII've stayed in that hotel for 1 night only in single room and I must admit that room was very nice , clean. Negative point is only about bit of odd smell as an old house ( but my deodorant helped quiet well there). Overally, for £16 I doubt if you can get nice room like this free WIFI in any other B'ham hotels.

Single room - basic, clean and GREAT VALUEI stayed in a single room. It is an old hotel and my room had shared facilities. The facilities were very clean, the hotel safe, and the room was clean and bed comfortable. Parking was available. For the price it was great value. basic but good.

very good quality hotel at reasonable priceI have travelled nationally and internationally (Europe) but I cannot remember where I could get that quality for the price. The staff are very receptive and friendly, The environment is spotless. The price is competitive (very).I will recommend it to anybody who wants quality with affordable price. No regret

Friendly staff who are helpful. Have stayed in this hotel 3 or 4 times and on each occasion, our room was excellent, no complaints what so ever. Used both the ensuite and the shared bathroom facilities and both are modern and work fantastically. The shared bathroom had a very faint smell but that might have been due to the many people who use it.There is a kitchen area with microwaves and toaster, which is very handy. Didnt use the toaster but the microwave was in great working condition. The room itself are as expected for a budget hotel. Nice comfy bed with clean sheets and towels each time. Working colour TV's with remotes on all occasions. If you are looking for a budget hotel with easy transport links to Broad Street and Bullring Centre, then this is the hotel for you. Dont expect luxury as its not a 5* hotel but for a budget hotel and the price, its a great little friendly place to stay.

Bailey Hotel, BirminghamWelcome wasnt very friendly/helpful, requested a non-smoking room, recieved a smoking room so the air in the room wasnt very fresh, the carpets were stained etc, refreshments were VERY limited, the website implied that the hotel was recently refurbished (as shown in the pictures) but that didnt seem the case.

Was not happy that no guests were allowed to come and visit me. Had to pay extra money just to see my guest visit, who was not intending to stay anyway.

I stayed one night at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the room and a shared toilet and shower room. Nice clean, fresh bedsheets, nice cup of tea in the morning and TV - all for £16. Will definitely be back to stay again as it's cheap but not grubby or dirty.

Great value, clean room, good facilities, great late budget accomodation.Comfortable stay for single traveller. Relief to arrive to clean sheets, good communal shower, TV and kettle. For the low price, the quality of room was basic but just right for one stay. NOTE: be VERY clear to Taxi Drivers where located.

No sleep at Bailey hotelI was very disappointed with this hotel having used late rooms on many occasions and being very satisfied. But on this occasion very dissatisfied. The room was more like a borstel than a hotel. The room had a very nasty nicotine smell. The room was right on a long corridor with people walking up and down through the first night and the second night there were people drunk and screaming, arguing at the early hours of the morning so I had next to no sleep over two nights. Will never be going back to this hotel.

Poor Facilities for paymentA pleasant enough hotel, however they would not accept credit/debit card payment which ruined our experience. It cost £15 for a return taxi journey to get the cash! Simply unacceptable in 2009!

Small room but sufficient space for a solo traveller. Was great being able to have a smoking room and was advertised as such, not like other hotels where you don't know if you are going to get a smoking room or not until you get to the hotel. New bathroom fitted and shower was was one of the best I have had - even 5-star hotels don't always have good showers. TV worked well and bed comfortable. Hotel patrons very friendly and helpful advice given - I was actually taken to my room when I arrived, that was a first and very welcoming. Hotel could do with a spruce up outside as not very appealing, other than that well done Bailey Hotel for a well-priced enjoyable stay.
