Think again for a romantic hotel destination!Nice location but hotel rooms were situated in a modern building which resembled a student hall of residence. Very disappointing to discover that it wasn't what we thought it would be. Room didn't smell great and consisted of twin beds pushed together. Nothing special in terms of decor. Comparable to a travel lodge. Bar area was nice and staff were attentive. However, this hotel is advertising in the stag and hen night market so be warned. Convenient for quick taxi ride into Bath. On the whole, over-priced and far too conference like for a romantic treat.

The one negative is that there is no elevators and we needed help from other client to carry our bags up to the second floor, We are old and would not have stayed here if we know about the lack of elevators.

bath visitvery good room size and large bed. second time we have stayed visiting our son at uni and enjoyed it each time. would recommend to anyone as long as not needing to stay in town.

Beautiful grounds, interesting wildlife. Accomodation very clean and comfortable, staff very helpful and friendly. As the weather was extremely hot during our stay, air conditioning would have been very welcome and the ability to turn off the heated towel rail! The breakfasts were excellent and the restaurant food of good standard. Would be happy to return especially on a good deal through lateroom.

Enjoyable break A lovely hotel but although it was a nice evening and we had to eat in a darkened room. Presumably because the dining room overlooked the car park and the view was not good they had closed the curtains. We asked about eating in the conservatory as per the web-site but they didn't seem to know what we meant. The sauna was not working ( with a sign), which was something the receptionist did not know as she had assured us it was open. The evening meal was good but the choice was limited. Having said this the rooms were very high quality.

Out of town Hotel,The Hotel was easy to find from the M4 as it was out of town. Bus stop outside of hotel. We had bus pass but believe fares are expensive. Nice walk down the canal into town but about a mile and a half. You pass the Mill Hotel & Restaurant, looks lovely. A large Italian restaurant a few yards away in a lovely country setting overlooking the river Avon. Further along we arrived at the George Pub & Restaurant, where we had a lovely meal at reasonable prices. The George is right by the Canal and you dont have to book.Our Hotel was worth the £136 we paid for the week-end. The room we had was on the top floor, fantastic views but the mirror in the bathroom was slanting against the eve of the roof, which was difficult for my husband to see to shave as he is almost six foot.I must say though, that we were disappointed as the Hotel was advertising an offer from something like £200 per night down to £89 for the Sat and £57 for the Sun. Because of this we were expecting a luxurious room and it wasn't. It was just ok. The TV was very small but they left the usual tea, coffee and biscuits, mineral water and nice toiletries. The rooms are in blocks adjacent to the old historic building. Luckily the weather was good. What made it was the lovely breakfast. Full breakfast and continental, fruits, yoghurt etc.The price of drinks, beer etc was very expensive.I wouldn't recommend it for the elderly as there is a steep bank in the hotel grounds, which are lovely, and there are no lifts to the rooms.

Keenan teamLovely hsitoric hotel in line with much of the city of Bath , rooms are located in a more modern part of the hotel and are good sized for a moderately priced hotel. Staff very helpful both in reception and when serving breakfast.Wee bit late getting into rooms as hotel is busy ,although you would never know as we never saw anyone until breakfast. Definitely would use this hotel again.

Small, friendly hotel just outside BathA lovely setting with pleasant staff. Excellent breakfast choice and clean, modern rooms with good facilities. The only negative was that the shower did not hold a steady temp therefore it went from burning hot to icy cold every 30 seconds.

regular visitor to hotelHave stayed at the hotel several times in last 3 years. Customers have benefitted from more recent improvements which have impacted on customer satisfaction, e.g. improved standards of service in the restaurant. However, we are concerned to hear the hotel is taking large 'stag' and 'hen' parties, and if this is so, my wife and I will be definitely detered from using this hotel, which has [up until now] been an oasis of peace.

A Lovely StayWe syated here for one night on a short tour of the south west. The hotel was lovely, rooms were very spacious and clean. not as modern as I'd have liked, but with a very comfortable bed and lots of wardrobe space you can't really go wrong. Excellent customer service, anything we requested was sent up very quickly and they even drew us a little map to show us how to walk into the main city. The walk wasn't that far at all, only about 25 mins. The breakfast that was included was lovely, there was a cooked buffet style section, a variety of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurts and a selection of pastries.I would definately stay here again!

The Hotel facade is impresive and so is the interior of the reception, however the photos that accompany the web page are deceiving as they give the impression of great value. However you are actually shown to an anexe with no lift which requires refurbishment. The breakfast room's carpet is badly stained and is very off puting.

The service was friendly, helpful & efficient at all times. The room was fine although not as grand as the main hotel building suggested it might be. We had a great stay and found the hotel well located for Bath and the surrounding area. It was excellent value at the Late rooms rate.

Good location for visiting Bath. Only 1 hour by foot along canal towpath( inc half hour to join canal). Also regular bus service passes end of hotel drive.Good food, efficient reception,v large room for just 2 of us. Free bottled water in room was a nice touch. Free Wifi in room was nice bonus. Set in nice grounds especially if weather dry.

clean room BUT very very misleading info concerning accommodation which is not in the house shown on the web but in annexes , the corridors are like a motorway motel ,the dining areas and bar are also outside in the annexes which if it is raining heavily as it was for us means that you dine looking like a drownded rat. We paid £209 for two nights which was a late booking , which apparently would have been £200 per night, amazing!!! We had no views from the window as there were huge trees right outside the window which meant that there was also little natural light.The house is just used for corporate meetings!!We booked what we thought would be a nice couple of nights in a beautiful hotel but it was like a quick fix package.

Late Rooms showed this as a 130% saving on a room for £70.......I travel a lot and I'd say that £70 is the right price....130% more would be a rip off. Nice peole and good food and restaurant service. Plenty to do at the hotel and surrounding area.
