this was an amazing place to stay in jaco. i've been to jaco 3 times now. the 1st 2 times were spent at the best western in jaco. bahia encantada makes the best western look like a slum. the rooms here are so up to date and clean it kind of blows your mind when you walk in the room. it definately doesn't feel like you're in a poor central american country. the maid service is every other day. the bathrooms in this place make you feel like you're in a palace. i really loved the shower also. pool area is also really nice. there's 4 seperate pools and they are never crowded (at least when i was there). taxi's cost 500 colones (about 1 US) to go anywhere in jaco. just ask the guard at the gate and you'll have one in 5 minutes or less. eat at the aberdeen steakhouse at least twice during your stay. the meat is fresh and they cook it in front of you. it takes a little bit longer to get your meal but it's well worth it. drink at the tucan bar. it's only been open about a month and isn't crazt busy but they have kareoke and cheap drinks. certain nights of the week lady's drink free.also the owner is from colorada and a very good guy.buy your groceries at super max (i think it's called that) it's in a little mini mall by quiznos on the strip. it's also the closest to the hotel. reguarding tours, manuel antonio is a must. lots of monkeys. tortuga island is another great tour. and arenal volcano hot springs. it's a far drive there bet again well worth it. all in all i love costa rica and wil be back next year.
