my single room was small the bed was very noisy when i laid on it even more noisy when i turned over waking me up, i did not sleep well and on a hot night there would not be enought ventalation in the room.i did complain to the owners but they said they could not do any thing about it. i did pay for two nights up front but only stayed for one night and did not get a refund which i was disapointed about

very happy customers! I found the Bahamas hotel a very pleasant place to stay. It is easy to find by car and is only a short walk from the beach. Customer service was excellent and the couple who run it were more than helpful with giving us information on places to visit and they made sure that we had everything we needed.Room was a good size and en-suite. We had a kettle in the room and teabags, coffee etc that were replenished every day. Our room was cleaned every day too and clean towels when we needed them. Breakfasts were excellent, there was a choice of what you could have but if you wanted something different, they were more than happy to do it.myself and my girlfriend stayed here for the week and it was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. will definitely stay here when we visit Torquay again. 10/10

A very nice and friendly accomodation close to central torquayWe found the Bahamas to be a small , clean and friendly hotel / guesthouse very central for Torquay and an ideal base to tour this part of Devon . The owners were nice , friendly and helpful , with the room a little dated , but warm , clean and fully stocked with all that we needed for a very pleasent stay . would certainly re book for this part of the coast .

OpinionVery comfortable guest house. They were a bit stretched at breakfast, as the place was full and they only have a forty five minute " window" in which to appear in the dining room.Easy access to the sea front and harbour as well as being a five minute walk from the railway station.

Excellent value. Super bed and super breakfast! lousy tv, no info about when bar open etc.Raining one day so returned to hotel mid afternoon. Bar not open. nobody in. had to wait till gone 6 for a drink and no info anywhere ! casual attitude by owner - sort of "so what?" place needs a good update. tiny old fashioned tv with poor reception didnt help. But excellent bed, good but small bathroom, ( but never cleaned properly) excellent breakfast - but no sacharin /sweetners available on premises. Really good value but needs a kick up the back side ! Not a place for a romantic break!

cheap and cheerful short breakThe couple that run the guest house were very friendly but not intrusive, helpful with local knowledge, they have a small bar that fills most requirements if you don't fancy walking out and the food (breakfast only) very good. The building itself appears quite old so you have to make allowances for some tardy decor and thin walls but as we only had B&B it was well worth the money and the location was ok. It's about a 10 min walk into the town center, 5 mins to the train stn.

We stayed for four nights and had avery good time. The welcome from the very friendly owners was warm and the breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and all served in a relaxed manner. The room was very comfortable with a bath and shower and lots of storage space. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good value break.

The comments book was rightly full of praises-- it is a very comfortable and friendly hotel, with a charming couple owning it. The breakfasts ( the only meal available) were excellent, the location is perfect for walking into Torquay. Could not fault anything, so we'll be back!

With so many Hotels in Torquay from which to choose, we were so fortunate we happened upon this one. Having previously read some of the reviews, we were eagerly awaiting the chance to meet the hosts. They both lived up to our expectations and were so friendly and welcoming. Finally the breakfast was trult excellent and all the available things to eat were of the best quality. The full English breakfast cooked by John could not be bettered. Good luck to you both and let's hope many more discover the delights of The Bahamas.

The hotel proprietors were friendly and very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was clean and presentable and the bathroom unlike other accommodation the shower was very effective. The breakfast was excellent. As a last minute break we considered the accommodation was excellent value for money and we will recommend the hotel to others. Ceinwen Shears

My girlfriend and myself stayed at this establishment for two nights but had we known about it earlier we would have stayed longer. We both found the owners, John and Sonia, to be very friendly and helpful, everything we needed to know was provided on arrival and the room we were given was lovely with a very comfortable bed. Tea making facilities and internet facilities were available if needed. There was a bar in the hotel if needed and we spent about an hour or so having a nice chat with John about all manner of subjects whilst we had a few drinks. The breakfast we had each day was lovely with toast, tea or coffee, and a range of breakfast options (full english, vegetarian etc) to cater for all tastes and there was plenty of parking on site for a car.We were sorry to leave and hope to be back there again sometime in the future.Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had just suffered the disappointment of having to cut short our holiday to Italy and were looking for a short trip in the UK to compensate. August in Torquay seemed unlikely for a family of 5 at 24 hours notice but that is what we achieved and all in a single room that was clean and more spacious than the photo. We felt very comfortable and not cramped. The Bahamas was better than we expected and John and Sonia made all the family feel at home and special. They were helpful with local attractions and very accomodating with our breakfast requests. Would definately recommend and visit again.

The owners John and Sonia were very friendly and happy to give advice on where to go during our stay. The bathroom was newly renovated and clean with white towels. The room was clean and tidy; the beds were very comfortable. We had the family room and the kids loved it .The dining room was very clean and bright; the English Breakfast was nice and filling, served hot and brought to your table. There was also a good choice of cereals, fresh orange and apple juice not to mention some juicy prunes.overall, a very pleasant stay, family friendly and a good base from which to see Torquay and the surrounding areas
