The Best Western Mountain Lodge offers comfort and convenience in a beautiful mountain setting. Nestled in the heart of the high country, we are within minutes of the area's best attractions and destinations, including Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Sugar Mountain Golf and Ski Resort, Beech Mountain, Lees McRae College, Appalachian State University and the best golf courses, hiking trails, fishing outfitters and rafting adventures the area has to offer. Enjoy our mountain themed lodge offering pool view as well as mountain view rooms. All rooms have 25-inch color tv with starz and encore, dvd player, hairdryer, iron/iron board, coffee maker, dataport and voice mail. Enjoy our beautiful courtyard area including a large outdoor heated pool opened year round , picnic areas with gas grills, swing and deck area surrounded by picturesque mountain views. In addition, we are proud to be the area's only pet friendly hotel. Newly and completely renovated in 2004. Now 100 percent non-smoking. Rates are based on double occupancy. Charges for extra adults may apply and will be due directly to the hotel.

What are your breakfast options?: We have a full service restaurant. The breakfast in our onsite restaurant, starts at 7:00am every morning and ends around 11;00am. We have a full menu, and also a buffet on weekends. The buffet runs at $7.95 per person.
What transport is available to get around?: Both Sugar Mountain Ski and Beech Mountain Ski Resorts include us on their complimentary shuttle route, to and from the mountain, only on weekends.

We do not provide transportation, however, there are a few taxi drivers that will come out to Banner Elk.
What can I do nearby?: We are located among the area's best attractions in the Heart of the High Country. Only 1 mile from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, and approximately 7 miles from Beech Mountain Ski Resort.

Our hotel is 100% non-smoking, and offers mountain and pool side views. We offer upgraded room amenities, outdoor heated pool, picnic area and game room.
