I stayed at the Ayres Hotel in Alpine because I was in town for a concert at the Viejas Casino & Outlet Mall. I was impressed with the rooms. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is also a free shuttle to the Viejas Casino, which was very convenient. Overall, it was a little expensive for the room, but it is the best option available if you are staying in the Alpine area.

The room were very clean and comfortable. Not one complaint. The staff was very friendly!Staff went out ofway to accommodate my family. I would definitely stay there again!

We stayed here on 7/27/08 to attend a concert at the Viejas Indian casino about 3 miles away. The Viejas casino does not yet have a hotel attached to it, so Ayres Inn in Alpine is the closest motel to the casino and shopping outlets. The motel is rather outdated--very small bathrooms with outdated tile and fixtures. Furniture is ok, but a little big for the rooms, making it difficult to move around the room easily. When we arrived at the motel in the afternoon the a/c was not turned on. It seemed to take awhile for the a/c to kick in once we turned it on; it was still warm in the room when we left to go to the concert at the Viejas casino, but we figured the room would be cool by the time we returned after the concert---WRONG! When we returned to the room after midnight, the room was warmer inside than it was outside and we spent a sleepless night in a very warm room. When checking out I mentioned to the desk clerk that the A/C didn't appear to be working. She asked if the curtains were blowing out and if the A/C kept shutting off. When I answered "YES" the desk clerk said that the a/c was blowing into the curtains, which was triggering it to shut off, and that the a/c needed a deflector shield. I asked then why was it not posted on the a/c that this was the problem. She said the deflector shields had been ordered. Well hello, it's now in the middle of summer--don't you think this problem could have been resolved earlier than this? The clerk offered no compensation for our extremely unsatisfactory stay. In the future I will find somewhere else to stay outside of Alpine!

good continental breakfast, and open late for check in after we attended a concert in the area. The staff told me about a great local restaurant where the locals eat and meet, and it was a fabulous place with good eats and patios. We plan to go back to the area for various events, and Ayres Inn will be our HQ.

Offers 24 hour shuttle service to local casino. The rooms were great and beds very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the free breakfast had something special - make your own waffles and they were delicious.

first of all this hotel looks nicer in photos then it really is. It is too far out of the way sort of secluded in a place where there is not much to do. Could not find shopping or resturants and entertainment nearby. Rooms in the back of the hotel feel unsafe no extra locks on the doors. Room was noisy especially Ac unit and fridge and electrical problems with blow dryer. Rooms are small, and good luck trying to get wireless internet or a wake up call.

The room itself was very comfortable, but perhaps stiff andformal is a better word. We did not use any of the facilities, as we were there only to celebrate a 40th birthday party, As for the location: it was easy to find, but too close to the freeway.

It was a little pricey, but i didnt want to drive into San Diego and wanted to be close to Viejas Casino also. Desk clerks on more than 1 occasion took phone calls and completed the phone before helping me in person. Bad cust. svc. Maids were friendly and nice area out back for picnic relaxing area, and nice pool area. close to strip mall with 4 restaurants to choose from and Viejas has a buffet to die for.....pricey at dinner tho. Rooms are comfortable with chair and couch and frig. nice place overall. beds are very comfy.

The room was beautiful and the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in a hotel. Nothing. My husband, daughter and I traveled to Alpine to visit with our son and his family. We were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Due to both of our sons being in the Navy we travel, somewhat to see them and their families and we will return to this hotel. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room is decorated beautiful with attention to detail. The beds are the most comfortable that I have slept in at a hotel. Next time we visit we plan to stay at this hotel.

Serene and lovely. No birthday candles. This hotel was very nice. I took the free shuttle to the nearby casino and it was so comfortable. The staff answered as many questions as they could for the purpose I was there. It was actually a fun trip.

Close to Asian restaurant that serves good food. Small bed in handicapped room. Old, in need of upgrades, not so clean, but in safe area.

Furniture in room was nice. Staff is horrible. I reserved two rooms and you would think they would be next to each other, well of course not. One was on the first floor facing the parking lot and the other on the second floor facing back of property. We weren't able to share toiletries nor were we able to have the whole family on same floor for the convenience of having all kids together. We requested each room with 2 queen size bed, we were only given king size beds. We requested non smoking, they only had one room and the other was smoking. Sofa beds weren't made and when we asked for sheets (midnight), we were told that we would have to go to the front desk to pick them up as house keeping left at 4 pm. I had to leave a 2 year old toddler in room so I could go get sheets. When I requested 4 extra pillows for the sofa beds in both rooms, they gave me only one as that was all that was available. They put the room charge on my credit card and asked me to sign for it. When I asked them for an address and/or phone # to the Viejas outlet, They said that they didn't have any info. It felt like I was talking to a 2 year old toddler because all they can say is no, no, no. I guess I am used to being at real hotels where if the front desk clerk is asked a question they didn't know the answer to; they always managed to find it out. This was the worst guest service I have ever seen in my whole entire life. I do travel a lot and this is definitely one place that I will never come near to again.

Shuttle service to nearby Viejas Casino. No separate bath room, just a sink at the end of the room. I attempted to get into my room and neither key would work, so I had to go back to the office and have the keys recoded. Once I finally made it inside the room I was immediately impressed with the furnishings and comfortable bed, but I was very disappointed that the sink was at the end of the room and not inside it's own bathroom area. There was no enclosed closet and the giant refrigerator only assisted with limiting space. There was a complementary continental breakfast available until 10:00 am on Saturday morning, but I choose to sleep through it due to a long night at the nearby casino.
