The staff were all 'super'; without a doubt, I would stay again and would recommend the hotel.

Location, grounds, layout, friendly. Room a bit to warm.

As a minimally mobility impaired traveler I was upset by what this hotel considered a suitable room for the disabled. The grab bars in the bathroom were in the wrong places. It was actually dangerous for me to take a shower. Getting into the tub was difficult, but getting out with only a towel bar to hold on to was scary.Actually, there is no excuse for a shower in a handicap-access room to be reached by stepping into a bathtub.Hotel would have been satisfactory otherwise. A premium price was charged for this handicap access room, which I am sure does not meet ADA standards.

We had an outside room. Didn't get much sleep with traffic noise. Hotel full due to weddings and unable to change rooms. We would not recommend this hotel for the price per night.

Location. Room was very old and outdated. The common areas of the Hotel are nice, then you get to your room..Surprise! It looks like a 1970's to early 80's room. No Desk ( The TV was on it) Old bathroom, very small. The key was even from the 80's, remember the plastic ones with the holes in it.

I recently stayed at this hotel while visiting friends over the 4th of July. I paid for the "Summer Fun" package which promised a number of money-saving coupons, and a free bucket of balls at the local gold course's driving range. Being a golfer, that was a selling point. However, there was no such coupon in packet I was given upon check in. I also paid extra to have a bottle of wine in my room upon my arrival. It was not in the room when I got there and when I contacted the front desk, I was told I had never reserved it. I later emailed the staff the very reservation proving I was correct and asking for a refund for the price of the wine and never got one. I was reassured in emails from customer service staff, but never reimbursed. The hotel's restaurant is supposedly very good, but the rest of the hotel smells of its kitchen. Our hallway smelled of fish. TV programming was sub-par by today's hotel standards, with no on-demand movies. I should mention that my brother had his wedding reception here, something I mentioned when trying to get a refund for the the no-show wine. Obviously, they don't really value their repeat customers. This hotel is NOT a luxury experience and by no means lives up to its higher end/old New England billing.

Hotel staff was professional, place was clean and homey. I would love a fridge in the room. Great room and great area, very convenient. Please note, no fridge in room.

Very convenient to U of H, we had come to fix daughter's computer, and were able to relax, eat in pub (restaurant is closed Mondays), and use the free HS Internet service to effect software repairs. The foyers and reception area are beautiful, the bed comfortable, and the dining room sunny and with a lovely view of the woods. Staff was very accommodating.

Comfort of beds & cleanliness. Didn't know what to expect & was surprised at the standard of room, cleanliness and all the little extras (ironing board, hair dryer, shampoos etc.) for the great price!

Comfortable beds. The four poster beds were too big for the small space. Liked it.

I loved how it had a central location to where we were going. The heating in the room did not work properly for the entire night, so I woke up cold. I thought the hotel was organized, the staff was friendly and professional, and that the drive there was worth the traveling time.

Visually pleasing. My room had an exterior door overlooking parking lot. Lots of noise due to a wedding party. The hotel room was nice and clean. Lobby was very pretty. Unfortunately, my sleeping experience was one of the worst ever. The part of the hotel I was in was more like a motel with my door opening outside overlooking the parking lot. There was a very loud wedding party that was making noise in the parking lot well past midnight, the room next to me had a slightly noisy barking dog and another room had a TV that was blaring. Unfortunate experience because at arrival I was very excited about how pretty everything was. The brunch the next day was very good!

Very conveniently located --very friendly-excellent Sunday Brunch- great restaurant across the street (The Tavern). This hotel would be a great spot for a leisurely business getaway or conference in wonderful surroundings. The neighborhood is very historic and the city of Avon and its arts center would make a great weekend getaway. Very accessible from Hartford or Boston and in a beautiful part of Connecticut. This would be the ultimate destination for a fall drive to see New England colors and culture.
