Just a couple blocks from the American Girl Store.

The beds were nice. No microwave or refrigerator in the rooms.

Location was ideal... We never needed our vehicle for our 3 night stay. Hotel was very reasonable and well worth the price we paid. Room was very comfortable for a "standard" room. Better than we expected. Would certainly stay here again.

We only stayed for 1 night. But, would definitely recommend. Front desk wasn't friendly at all, didn't see a bell hop and we didn't need the doorman. However, the room was gorgeous, with a fabulous King sized bed and pillows. The furniture in the room was very attractive a lovely full sized leather couch with a zebra striped chair, a full sized desk, and nice TV. Free wi fi was a plus. The bathroom was like in any motel to be honest, small bath with a shower, but did appreciate the hairdryer. The Sky Bar was nice, it was a very wet day and it was nice to sit by the fire and have a cocktail. The bartender was lovely, she heard our accents, knew we from out of town and gave us some great suggestions. The Elephant and Castle adjacent to the hotel was great for breakfast and doesn't break the bank. The location was excellent - right on Miracle Mile. Got a great deal through travel website and would definitely stay there again. We knew about the parking charges ahead of time so we did some research and found 24 hour parking a block away for about $32. We were meeting up with friends who were staying at the Omni for a lot more money and they loved our room. Believe me they paid way more than us!

Absolutely great! Only issue was when we returned from our evening one night there was a gentlemen passed out in our hallway and it looked as if he urinated himself.

Room was spacious and beds comfortable. Lobby is very stark and unfriendly. Good for stays involving shopping on Michigan Ave.

Very nice hotel. Initially gave me the wrong room but quickly corrected the problem. Very good location near restuarants, shopping & mass transit. My complaints fairly minor - lack of drawer space for clothes and maybe could of used an additional garbage pail but I would consider staying here again if I was ever in the Chicago area again.

The service was excellent. We enjoyed the pool and furnishings. The adjacent restaurant was very good. There were no glasses in the bathroom for personal use and the coffee pot only had styrofoam cups. I wouold have preferred a real mug with a styrofoam option if I was on the run and needed coffee to go.

Valet parking was $50 a day.

The location of this hotel is central to shopping and dining on the Miracle Mile. Also, the NWU campus is just a block away. The room was spacious and very clean and we had a great view of both Michigan Avenue and Lake Michigan--definitely recommend a higher floor for the view! I am VERY picky about beds, bedding and pillows and have to say that I slept like a baby. (this is almost never the case, for me) The lobby is no-frills, but who spends time in the lobby? The staff was very friendly, helpful and accomodating. I found out at check out that you can request an additional fridge in your room if you need it --in additon to the mini-bar. Very helpful if you travel with children, as I did. They practically bent over backward to make sure that we were happy and comfortable here. It was a positive experience and I have to say that I will definitely stay here again.

The Avenue Hotel is the perfect location for shopping on the Mag Mile. It is centrally located just a short block off Michigan Avenue in the heart of prime shopping areas. The "El" station is just a few blocks away in either direction for the Cub fan in you. Great restaurants are on every corner. The "Loop" business district is also within walking distance. The rooms are clean and nicely appointed with a "clubby" feel thanks to the leather couch and dark wood trim. The round rain shower head creates a pleasant experience in the bathroom as well. For the money The Avenue Hotel is a nice value especially in light of its perfect location.

Left something there. Lost & found returned it intact. Valet service was a little slow for over sized vehicle (limited space in primary garage meant secondary garage was often used).

Great location. We were able to walk almost everywhere. Valet parking is 48 a night but that worked out since we were on foot. We felt pampered. Everyone was very nice and made us feel welcomed. We will return in the future. Be careful with the stocked fridge. We moved a few things to place something in the fridge and were charged automatically for those items. However we put them back and the hotel removed the charges immediately and without question. We were very impressed with the overall service given.

The location was good. The service was not a five star hotel. They were not accomodating at all. No customer service. The nicest people were the valet guys. We were very disappointed in the quality of the rooms (our AC did not work and it was controlled by the hotel). The staff was rude and not helpful with anything. We will never stay there again!

Location. Floor/room smelled musty, old. Great staff, great location, room that I was in was clean, but smelled musty & was in need of a little updating.

When you hear luxury 4star you expect a step above, well not this case. Im not complaining just being honest. The hotel is not any better than any moderate chain. The pictures and descriptions are deceiving. You enter the "lobby" which is really more like entering an office elevator corridor with podiums set up to check in as every one gets on the elevator. The rooms have been refurbished and are kept clean. The beds down plush was definetely a plus in the room. If you are looking for just a decent room to rest your head then its great b/c the location is central to alot on Michhigan Ave then book here. If you want to be able to say this was a nice hotel with good ambience from the door to the room (and I got it for a song on online travel website) then keep looking. There were alot I considered I wish I had chosen instead. The staff was nice but not friendly even when there was a problem at check in. in fact, the nicest staff member was the heat repairman for our room. But, like I said its ok. My only complaint would be the bellman if there was one. Five of us (including my elderly mother) got out of the cab paid and carried our things in the night we arrived . He was leaning against a wall in the lobby and never moved even thru 3 other groups check -ins. He was not there when we checked out either. We hailed our own cabs. Good customer service defines 4star luxury to me but I'll let you decide. The windy city is a fun place to visit and the hotel did not damper our fun.

Great hotel with a great view if you get the right room. The bathroom was a little lacking and was very small. The shower had absolutely no pressure. Overall very good though. Second night there was a family with small kids next to us that we could hear, but it did not interfere with our sleep at least.

Great value for money for the location. Expensive parking.

We stayed 3 nights at the Avenue in late October. The room was very small, but well appointed and came with an Apple Computer (this may have been a free upgrade). Staff was helpful and the location is near perfect. If the room had been larger, we would have given this the highest rating.

Great location near alternative parking which is $10 less than the hotel.
