In my opinion, the hotel is confortable, even do is old. Rooms, Elevatots (4)and panoramic views are good. The food is very good at the Restaurant with a great variety of Mexican dishes. Overall I'm pleased with my stay on this hotel.

The Avalon Excalibur is best enjoyed when it is deeply discounted. This Hotel is just Mexico, not Cancun! Sure, not everyone speaks perfect English, but just find someone who does and you'll be O.K. The food is typically Mexican,,DUH!!..and being from South Texas we loved it. The all inclusive plan was perfect for us, and the drinks were good and plentiful. Even bottled water is included. The staff, especially Burt, the concegiere, was extremely friendly and catered to our every need. Ask for an oceanview corner room on the West end of the Hotel. You will get 180 degree panoramic views of the harbor. The location is an easy walk to anywhere in town, and security is excellent. Yes, the Hotel is old, but this trip was soo inexpensive we would do it again in a heartbeat. It's not 5 star, it's 3 star...You get what you pay for. We had a great time, going just after spring break was over and it was very quiet. I can imagine that any Hotel on the beach would be a madhouse during Spring Break!!

After reading some of the reviews of the Avalon Excalibur I was a little worried about staying here. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The beach was clean, the staff was very nice and more than willing to help us with everything. The elevators are a bit slow but it was spring break and the hotel was quite busy. Still, I have no real complaints about the hotel. It met all of my expectations and accomodated all of my needs. If you are looking for a clean place to stay I would recommend this hotel. Not a 4 or 5 star but definitely 3 star. For what I wanted, it was perfect.

The Avalon Excalibur was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. I have been to Mexico 5 times and this was the first time where I was at a hotel where not one member of the staff spoke a word of English. Our room was not cleaned at all during are entire stay. The Concierge was very unhelpful and rude. The beach amnitities were very poor, there were never enough lounge chairs on the pool or on the beach, and the hotel security was lackluster. Beach Vendors were allowed to come up to you as you lounged on hotel property and harrassed you every five minutes. the Food and drinks at the hotel were inedible and highly over priced. If you want to have a miserable time in Acapulco stay at this hotel, if not their are much better options available.

5 of my friends and I went here and we LOVED it we had the time of our lives!! The food was great- the service was sooo nice and they went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. The staff really made us feel welcome- the pool is great and the beach is amazing! The rooms were beautiful and clean and housekeeping got us anything we needed. There is a shopping mall and little shopping markets near by and there is food all along the strip. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone! oh and one additiont hey have that I have not seen in pictures is a kids pool castle playground area that is big and awesome~ we didn't play in it- but if I were a kid I would have loved it!!!

Great location, good entertainment. Not to friendly staff, too much noise, problems with opening doors. Bad experience with management staff, a manager tried to charge me with a bill apparently for 4 shots of tequilas in the amount of 320.00 when I disputed this to management, they didn¿t believe that this was not my signature on the bill. Bartender remembered that I was paying with cash and he was on my favor, however this manager was given me a hard time, finally they didn't charge this dummy bill. Alert people of these kinds of dummy charges.

Great Location had a great time. Room was ok. People were friendly. Everything was fine. Hotel needs to be updated. AC was broken. But over all it was worth it.

The view. Too noisy till late at night, air con did not work. There were no other foreign tourists. Most were Mexican holiday people. Most staff did not speak English. Check in took about an hour. The air conditioner in the room did not work. They have loud music playing all day by the pool and until midnight every night. It was a very commercial busy place and not very relaxing. It seemed though that this was Acapulco in general. The view was nice.

rooms and bathrooms needs an upgrade. Pillows and beds were very hard. Swimming pool small. Caters to families with small kids. Hotel is located between two storm sewers. show dead rats coming out of storm sewers. Do not recommend to USA tourist. Lots of people with large families form ""vacations club"" mainly coming in from within Mexico.

Overall its a good hotel but it does need a remodelation. the elevators are a pain, its better to get the first levels and get the stairs. it does has a pool but its a small one. its the first hotel build in the costera so its kind of far away from all the clubs. the staff people are very friendly and will help with any kind of questions or problems. like around 80% of the people staying are families so there are lots of kids.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms was dirty(we had to be transferred to another room). The food was horrible!. The pool was dirty and over crowded, people was begging all the time. Go elsewhere for your money and time!!!.. Housekeeper was nice that was it!!. Don't go for a honeymoon!!

I loved this hotel. Its right on the main strip with beautiful views of the ocean and the mountains. The front desk help was awesome. There was a problem with my reservation but they gave me a room right away and they took care of everything else. My 3 children had the time of their lives and want to go back soon. The only problem was the bathroom wasn't clean when we arrived and the maids wouldn't give us enough towels even when we asked.

I thought the hotel was better than it is. The room was not very comfortable as the maintenance of the building is not good. Is an advantage the place where it is: near the beach and the downtown.

Talked into going with family who have been going for 20+ years. normally we go to fancier resorts. VERY friendly staff. not fancy. If you are looking for Miami Beach- go to Cancun.This is real Mexico. Very Enjoyable
