Northampton ,Ma is a wonderful town, with the Autumn Inn in a great neighborhood two minuets away. Hotel was very quiet and clean.
Date of Stay:
May, 2009
Lovely old-fashioned rooms, clean, well-kept, 2 blocks from town center. Lovely old-fashioned rooms, four poster bed, clean, well-kept. A very basic breakfast, but the dining room was very homey and nice.
Date of Stay:
April, 2007
I have stayed here twice now and the first room was laughable (you had to walk into the bathroom fully to close the door) and the second time, the room was nicer, but it was extremely noisy as you could hear every footstep from the upstairs guest. The location is very convenient to Smith College and the breakfast is pretty good for a ""continental""- nice waffle machine. The hotel staff are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. Parking is easy and on site. Next time I will probably request an upstairs room.

Loved the common room with the old-style hearth. Plenty of space. Dim lighting in rooms. The cook was very rude. Perfectly adequate accommodations for an evening. Room was clean and the front desk was friendly and helpful. They do sell beer and wine at the desk which I have not seen before and may be convenient for those of you who drink.

Room on small side but clean, and comfortable. Great location. Walking distance to College and downtown area. Staff very nice.

Main hotel had a bed and breakfast feel to it. It's not in the main building, it's a motel.

Yes, it is dated and it's not exactly a country inn, but it was very clean, close to Smith College and downtown, and offers free internet (wifi in room or high speed in the lobby) and a very nice free breakfast. The staff was very friendly and accomodating and I don't think there's anything else in the downtown area to match it price-wise.

Charming ambience, beautiful grounds. This is a charming New England Inn with beautifully kept grounds and ideal location next to Smith College campus. Complimentary continental breakfast is well presented in attractive fireplace lounge area.

The streetside is deceiving. It comes off as a quaint New England Inn, but it's really a Route 66 motel with a fancy coat. Our room was small, cluttered, dusty, and smelled like a cellar.

Family owned place. Very sweet and great location. A very nice break from big chain hotels. Small and charming.

People were helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean for our needs. There were unsitely spots on one of the bedspreads. I feel this hotel met our needs for a place to stay for a night or 2 as it was clean but not fancy in any way. It was a large room with 2 chairs and plenty of room. It fit into our budget as well. We would stay there again.

The location is great. Rooms need updating - very bare/unattractive.

Warm rooms. Too expensive; breakfast choices mediocre.

Location, and personel cleaned snow off my car. It snowed 10 inchs. Clean, good people working there, usual ammenities.
Date of Stay:
January, 2008
Quiet and convenient to downtown Northampton. Also inexpensive. Lacked personality. If your goal is somewhere to rest your head while saving money for other adventures, this is a good bet. It's modest and uninspiring but comfortable for an overnight stay.

Comfortable room, very quiet location. Bathroom space small. Very friendly staff, comfortable beds and pillows, nice continental breakfast, staff made sure food was always plenty, would stay here again.

Reasonable. Easy in, easy out. Good breakfast buffet.

Pleasant, accommodating, traditional country inn, free computer access, great breakfast. Great place to stay, 24 hour coffee, tea, chocolate, near down town, in mist of Smith College, and very busy all weekends except in winter - January, February, when log fire in huge fireplace. We will return!

It had wireless connectivity and the bathroom was clean (a great plus). The bed was soft and the smell of the sheets could be different. The hotel staff was great, welcoming, very helpful and outstanding. Just coming in from a long journey, the flexibility and availability to the internet was an excellent means to get back in touch with what I needed to connect with. Things were prepared and really homely.
